Easy check-in, room a good size and bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water. The pool area was clean towels were provided and ample sunbeds for everyone. Having speciality restraunts was great as think buffet could get monotonous, but saying that there was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. Drinks were good quality and having the coffee bar was perfect for us that don't drink alcohol. The ground were immaculately kept and very pretty. The beach had plenty of loungers and trees for shade, just mind the coconuts 😅.

This is a big hotel so if you have mobility issues request a room close to reception. Food in buffet was not always hot just warm.

The food was absolutely amazing. The speciality restaurants were an absolute treat! The service at the bar and the bartenders were so good and had a wide variety of non-alcoholic cocktails. Special shoutout to Kavish :) The resort is absolutely beautiful and pictures don’t do it any justice. Every corner is absolutely gorgeous.

The WiFi connection was a nightmare almost all the time in the rooms. For good connection, one had to be at the reception area or the various bars. The reception staff were very unhelpful when it came to basic guest requests. We booked and paid for 3 people in 1 room but things like cups;gowns; towels and etc were only for 2 guests. We had to make several requests to the reception to assist with this. The telephones in the rooms did not work at all and so each time we had an issue in the room we had to walk +-10mins to the reception since our room was located on the furthest side to the reception.

I liked absolutely everything: the excellent location of the hotel, the large territory, comfortable access to the ocean, a rich selection of food in the main restaurant, excellent service, the large room with a sea view, and the high-quality alcohol. The stay was very comfortable, and I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.

The beach (near the ocean) has very uncomfortable plastic sun beds and tiny umbrellas, with the palm grove not providing enough shade. At the same time, the sun beds and coverings by the pool are great! Also, the pool bar closes too early. But these are small suggestions for improving the already excellent service.

Great breakfast with many options. Not having unruly kids running around the dining room was a bonus.

Advertising a junior suite with a private swimming pool is a bit devious, and the hotel should be clearer on this. The private swimming pool area is awesome. The hotel needs to optimise its towel service and better enforce that the area is used only by those who paid for it. Some selfish guests reserved cabanas by placing a book or a hat on the loungers and never pitched up. This type of "dormant" and selfish reservations should be better managed by the hotel.

Facilities and pool were great, staff was friendly, and the food and drinks were very good and varied everyday.

We did not know before that the al a carte restaurants needed to be pre-booked well in advanced. We were not able to find a spot for any of the 3 night we were there. However, the buffet in the main restaurant was always available and good.

Overall it was pleasant hotel and surroundings. Food was adequate and good selection at the buffet . We did the 7 waterfalls day trip which was the highlight.

AC did not work properly even after asking for it to be fixed. Getting access to the restaurants through the app did not work and only after complaining at one of the restaurants where there happened to be someone who helped us.

I usually don't post reviews, but in this case I had to do because the low scores are very unfair. I've been to 37 countries and many hotels, and very few times I've seen such a nice and friendly crew. Everything worked perfectly during our stay at Riu Palace Mauritius. The accommodations were good and new, swimming pools with an excellent wet bar, real alcohol drinks, and delicious food. In fact, the all-inclusive of this hotel is, by far, the BEST I have ever experienced. I had a 5-course meal in one of their prime restaurants that would, by itself, would cost the equivalent price that I paid for 1 night there (room + all-inclusive). The cost-beneffit in my case was unbelievably good. So unreal that I can only believe they are going to increase the prices soon - so enjoy while you can!

Not their falt, but the sea in most parts of Mauritius is not good for swimming due to a lot of sea weeds. The beach there is very good for water sports though (due to the wind)

The food court. It was amazing. So many different types of food and it was very tasty. Nothing was cold nothing was dry because they refreshed the food often. Cocktails were ok. They have their own run that they make at the hotel and it’s delicious. It’s not available everyday though. The rooms are great. You can tell they are new and for this price it’s more than you can expect. There are adapters everywhere and usb and usbc ports in the wall. You get a free minibar. You can take everything with you to your room - the cocktails from the bar, the food, friuts everything and there is no fus about it. There is coffee bar all day long.

The beach. It’s reeeeeealy bad compared to the ones near it.. like tragic. Nobody even tries to swim there. It’s not a big problem though because next to RIU there are 3 AMAZING hotels. The Marriott, Lux and beacomber. They all have breathtaking beaches and they are just a short walk along the beach away. The wind at RIU somehow is very strong, the waves are big and once you walk 10-30min to the other hotels the sea is smooth and the wind is like a warm breeze. RIU s beach has no atoll and the other hotels do and that’s why you’re able to snorkel there and swim without worries. The design of the hotel is well.. “nothing to write home about” is a good way to put it. No fresh fruit juice. No juices at lunch and diner. Just wine water and coke/sprite/fanta.

The property was very clean and well maintained. Facilities were up to standard. Rooms were clean, a decent size, had a good view, and all necessary amenities provided. Good value for money. The heated pool was a bonus in the colder weather.

The property is located on a very windy part of the island. Therefore tends to be cooler. The beach access was very limited. Food options for dinner at the buffet were limited and getting a booking at the restaurants was near impossible. Guests are not warned in advance that they are required to make a reservation 2 days in advance.

Property was wonderful, we enjoyed the adults only areas.

Towards the end of our stay our room and bathroom was not cleaned as thoroughly as we would have liked. We also could never reserve one of the specific restaurants.
