Location is perfect breakfast terrace idilic staff friendly but not too intrusive so good

Only thing I can say is there is a lot of steps to reach reception and could do with a rail whole way up but the whole resort is not ideal for any one with mobility difficulties, the owner brought our bags up and down and was super kind

Locanda Il Maestrale was the perfect place to stay in Monterosso. Full of charm and character, the property blends traditional beauty with modern comfort. Our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with lovely touches throughout. The location couldn’t have been better — right in the centre of the old town, close to the beach, restaurants, and everything you need, yet still quiet and peaceful. The terrace was a real highlight — a beautiful spot to enjoy breakfast or unwind with a view. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. A true gem in Cinque Terre — we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

The owners are personable, helpful and take pride in every detail of their Bed and Breakfast. They speak English. They are in the heart of old Monterosso Al Mare and a delightful walk to everything. This is the 2nd time we stayed with them, both times were 5 nights. We stayed in a suite the first visit which has ample room. We stayed in a smaller room the 2nd time which had every thing you could possibly need even though it was a bit tight. the owner, Giovanni, makes breakfast with great care. It is a beautiful buffet with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, yogurt, granola and boiled eggs. He remembers what you like and prepares it before you even ask. There is an indoor dining room and one in the enclosed porch (that is protected from the weather but can be opened up when it is warm and sunny) that overlooks the gorgeous street scape. In that room you can get fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning and coffee or tea any time of the day or night. He offers cocktails in the evening. It is close to the post office, laundry, shops and restaurants. We would go back again and again and again!

Everything was perfect!

Giovanni and the staff at Locanda Il Maestrale made us feel like we were part of their family, not at their hotel. Every morning we had freshly cut fruit in a bowl waiting for us out on the patio. A machine to squeeze fresh orange juice was just above a container full of oranges. What a treat to have as much or as little as you may want. Another machine had cold and piping hot water. Our room was just off the patio and was perfect. The shower provided a full strong flow and always had more than enough hot water. The bedroom, up in a loft, was very comfortable and a fun place to sleep after a full day of exploring the Cinque Terre area. Only about an easy 10 minute walk from the train station, the hotel was just a 2 minute stroll from several great restaurants.

I will say nothing negative about this well run property. Know that you will be glad you stayed there like we were.

Don’t look anywhere else! Our stay at Locanda II Maestrale was absolutely wonderful. Giovanni and his team welcomed us so warmly and were so helpful throughout our stay. Every morning we were greeted with our coffee order without being asked, along with a bowl of fresh cut fruit to enjoy on the terrace. There’s also a spread of fresh meat and cheese, yogurt, breads etc to start your day. The terrace is gorgeous and overlooks the Main Street but isn’t too noisy. Our room was just the right size for 2 young travelers, and the bathroom was equipped with all you’d need. They even provide beach towels and a beach bag to bring down to the sea. In the older side of town, which we found was quieter and more enjoyable. Easy access to train and trails. They provide a discounted trekking an train pass at the hotel concierge as well. Can’t wait to stay again and will recommend to anyone considering staying anywhere in cinque terre.

Our room was the smallest room, and it was just enough space for 2 people.

The hotel is located in the heart of Monterosso. Breakfast ,served at the beautiful veranda full of flowers,was very satisfactory though not very rich. But perfect for us. Giovanni, the owner, was kind and ready to give information and answer every question. The building is more than two hundred years old renovated recently and very attractive with a definitely family air in every detail. We had a lovely time!

The bathroom is a bit small , something perhaps expected in renovated old buildings.

This small family-run hotel is a hidden gem that combines beautiful interiors, exceptional hospitality and a fantastic breakfast. It's truly a wonderful place to stay while traveling. The B&B is located on the second floor. After two small flights, you enter into a cozy and comfortable interior that’s just beautiful. You can feel the history. This main room hosts breakfast, which can either be enjoyed inside or directly outside on their gorgeous patio which overlooks one of the main streets in Monterosso. What a view! The interior breakfast room is charming and subtle, while the outdoor patio is filled with beautiful bright flowers, is tastefully decorated and the ideal for breakfast, snacks, a wine, or socializing with fellow travelers. Our room was spacious had a very comfortable bed and pillows, and was spotless. Nice to haves.....a luggage rack, beach bag and beach towels, slippers, A/C, safe and large bathroom and large shower by European standards. There was a small bookshelf outside in the main room which was thoughtful. Breakfast was exceptional. Freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, fruit, toast, nuts, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, some days eggs and personally made coffee and a personally made fruit bowl make it an absolutely perfect start to your day. There’s a complementary water machine, tea and coffee throughout the day. There are just too many small touches to note everything. The owner Giovanni and his staff ( Connie) are exceptional. They are there for any and every question and need.

The outdoor breakfast area was an awesome way to start the day and the service with breakfast was equally great. The food was as expected - only hot food was a soft boiled egg and drinks. The location makes this residence, perfect place and the outdoor breakfast area is a great place for an evening glass of wine. The street is the main street of Monterosso but was very quiet at night - never a problem for sleeping with open windows. Our favorite aspect of the B&B is the staff, very helpful with info on hikes (assisted with discounted hiking passes), trains, and general sites and restaurants. Always a smile and never in a rush. Great job!

I wish breakfast would have some warm / hot food options. There are plenty of non-hot food items to choose from.

The property was beyond beautiful and the location felt like we were in a movie scene. Unreal! We kept having to pinch ourselves because it was so magical. The breakfast patio overlooking the quaint Lytle Street is wonderfully decorated with fresh flowers everywhere. The breakfast, which were included in her stay, or absolutely fresh and delicious.

The breakfast and pastries were amazing. There was an orange juicer and (as someone who loves cold drinks) an ice maker which made my day. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about hiking trails. I also liked the location of the property.

The rooms were a bit small, but it did have a desk and we just used it for sleeping and it was worth it for the rest of the experience.
