Excellent value for money. 30 minute walk / 15 minutes by public transport from train station. Grocery stores nearby to pick up any forgotten items. Friendly welcome. Accommodating - not only was I able to leave my luggage before check in, but it was put into my locker in the room for me once my bed was ready. I requested a lower bunk which was provided. Communal space available with free coffee/tea/water (in a city where I was often frustrated at how reluctant anyone was to give me tap water!). Access to a kitchen at specific hours. The bathroom spaces were clean and well stocked with toilet rolls. I never had to wait to use the facilities despite the hostel being fully booked (I shower at night, and was up around 9am, so dodged both the early risers and those in need of recovery time, but still impressed that I never had to wait despite it being full). The small bedside ledge, lamp and socket within the little curtained sleeping cabin was really cute.

I was well prepared based on the description and reviews, but to reiterate - it is over a fun, popular, pub, so it is loud into the "wee hours". Some extra hooks to hang jackets/towels etc would have been useful. Aside from the socket at the bed, there were limited charging options in the room (though plenty others available in the communal spaces). Recommend getting a plug with 2+ usb points if you have a lot of things you want to charge overnight. I also travelled with a small travel fan. The room was really warm, and I think I would have struggled without it - and that was with the temp being low-mid 20s (though muggy), and sleeping with the window open.

We stayed in the red Jimmy room. The room had a cool rock vintage theme, it was clean and comfortabel. The bathroom was clean, nice showers. Cozy vintage theme in the whole building, near by the city. Lots of shops and restaurants.

No free parking in the street

Everything is very thoughtfully laid out; I stayed in a single room which was really nicely decorated (my bed was a converted boat!). Shared bathrooms were sufficient in number and very clean. Excellent free coffee, and very lively neighbourhood within walking distance (20 minutes) from both the university and the city centre. Also, the staff were amazing - really helpful and friendly. There seemed to be a whole range of people staying there, from very young hostel-goers to slightly more seasoned ones like myself; lots of entertainment options even in the building, with the bar and the stage in the basement; but no noise at all on the 6th floor where my room was.

The boat is very comfortable but a bit squeaky - if you're a very light sleeper, perhaps choose another room, there are plenty of options.

So far I had the idea that hostels are for individuals who just want a budget-friendly accommodation, but after my stay at Hostel die Wohngemeinschaft I completely changed my outlook on hostels. It's so much more than that - the adventurous people that you meet from all over the world while brushing your teeth, the cozy bar downstairs that you can just go at the end of the day and relax, the aesthetic boho atmosphere with plants, catchy designs on the walls, oat milk in the coffee machine instead of regular milk. These are just some of the many aspects that I truly enjoyed. The common area was also very convenient for doing some work on my laptop. All staff and travelers were very kind, respectful, and I felt safe and comfortable at all times. I will always remember this stay with warm feelings.

That I was not able to have coffee with oat milk after the machine gets cleaned around noon. It would have been better if the machine was cleaned later during the day, as many people still like to have coffee in the afternoon. It would also be helpful to include a sign that says the machine will not offer options with milk after X o'clock.

Nice, comfy and well-located hostel. Very accessible from city centre. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bunk beds were comfortable and very big! Beds have thick curtains that block light and noise Clean room and respectful roommates Big lockers with keys so you don't have to bring a padlock Free coffee! There's also nice a café/bar downstairs Especially loved my themed dorm with beds and lockers designed as flight cases, a pleasant surprise as I work in live music 😊

Room already very warm even with window open whilst 25°c outside, could be an issue during summer. Bathrooms lacking ventilation: very clean in the evening, but filled with humidity and strong mold smell in the morning. Nearest toilet was out of order and the next one wasn't super close to my room.

I loved this hostel! It is exceptionally clean & very secure -- the area is also safe. The beds, large & very comfortable... curtains, plugs, shelves AND each room with its own theme. Very spacious lockers, no lock needed. The showers, clean & great stream of water. The free coffee is very very good! The staff, very friendly, helpful & accommodating. The common space is spacious & relaxing. The kitchen is well-stocked. There is access to work spaces, for anyone needing to be in an online meeting. I so much enjoyed this hostel & I would absolutely stay there again! It's maybe 20 minutes to downtown with transport, very logical & easy to manage. Lots of cafes or food stores more or less in the area -- actually, it was nice to get out of the more touristy city center!

the kitchen closing at 20:00 could be problematic for some people -- because then you can't access anything from the fridge, for example -- and then it doesn't open up again until 8:00am. This could be problematic for anyone wanting to leave early in the morning.....

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean. I stayed in a 8 bed dorm and everything was clean and the neighbours were also respectful. I liked that every bed had curtains, which gives you the feeling of more privacy. I also found super helpful that they had a fully equipped kitchen and refrigerator. Furthermore, tea, coffee and water were available at all times for free.

The entrance to the hostel it's a bit confusing, but the staff of the bar were very kind to indicate were the reception was. The kitchen it is not 24 hours open, for costumers like me that had to leave before opening hours (08:00) the access to the kitchen was not possible.

I arrived unexpectedly late: my flight was delayed, so I was totally exausted. But even at midnight I found an open kitchen with hot water and microwave - so I got an opportunity to warm my meal and boil the tea. Marvellous option! The other guests whom I met were delicate and friendly. Although there was a bar in the same building I didn't get any inconvenience. All rooms are stylished to a certain theme - all different and really well-done! Highly recommend this place: it's not cheap for this type of accomodation, but definitely worth its money.

The only thing which I would like to be changed is the supply of towels: now there are none. But being a budget traveller, I didn't carry mine.

Firstly, I arrived late due to making a mistake with my timing. Despite the fact I arrived at 2am, the hostel sent me late check-in information and the staff welcomed me warmly. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the little curtains you can pull to give you some privacy. Including a locker key with the room key is genius. The ability to access free water, tea and coffee, and to pay for other drinks easily makes everything more convenient. The location is superb, with nice little quiet squares close by and close to the main station.

The beds are amazing! They’re big (easily fit two people and I can sit up completely, I’m 5’10) and comfortable and very private. I had an end bunk so I also had a window to outside within my bunk. The curtains allow you to feel like you’re in your own little room. The bathrooms, shower room and communal spaces were all kept very clean. Free coffee, water and tea. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I arrived after the desk closed so one of the bartenders took me up and showed me where everything was which was super nice.

Trying to check in after the desk had closed caused some confusion. I tried to go to the bar as I was told but the bouncer wouldn’t let me in with my backpack so then I was unsure of what to do as I needed my keys. When I went back with my email there was a staff member outside who brought me in.
