The staff are very friendly and helpful. The area is vibrant and interesting. It's a 15 minute walk to the cathedral, Cologne's main sight, and to the main station. The coffee and tea for sale at reception is a good idea. My room was OK. Comfortable enough and internally quiet. Very good, clean shower. Good value for central Cologne.

As others have said, the hotel needs a bit of a refurbish. It has aspects of a four star hotel, but two stars seems more appropriate to me. The area is great but there is some street noise, which may bother some people. The air con didn't work properly in my room, but I liked it that the window could be fully opened.

Really loved that there was a restaurant just across it that served great ramen and was open during Dec 24-25! We thought everything was closed, also just a short walk to Starbucks which was also thankfully open during the typical holidays. Takes about 20 mins to walk to the cathedral and station but overall good and feels safe for a good price. The staff was really accommodating as well! Good stay overall.

It's a bit old but can't complain at that price point. also the lighting in the room could use a bit of work, I mean, there was a big window but in the night it could use a bit more light and on cloudy days.

- the location of the hotel is great. you can go to the city center by walking easily. - the room and the facilities are clean. - it is a big advantage to have a parking right under the hotel.

- considering that the hotel has 4 stars, it is interesting not to have slippers in the room.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the main train station. It is on a quiet side street off the main/busy streets. It is near many restaurants and bars. It is just a few minutes on foot from a major shopping area and a metro station. There is a very helpful front desk with knowledge of the area, restaurants, bars and activities. The front desk also has a large selection of drinks and snacks for purchase. An adjoining restaurant has local cuisine. There is an adjacent restaurant with authentic Kolsch food and bier. The minibar is stocked with free selections of beer, soft drinks and water with glasses to pour them into. The closet space is huge. The restroom is clean and adequate. The bed is comfortable. It is one of the few hotels I have stayed in the country with true air conditioning, not just a fan or open window. Check in and check out took just a minute or two.

This hotel is a premium location at a premium price. The breakfast is good, but at an additional premium price. As with most hotels in Germany, it has one of the tiniest restrooms known to man. It is difficult to close the restroom door while inside to use the toilet due to a lack of space to move around.

Beds were super comfortable. The facilities were great, specifically those of the bathroom. In addition, the complimentary water once having entered was a touching detail for us as we had traveled to Köln with the DB and then walked over to the hotel. Friesenstraße is one of our favorite locations in Köln, so having a bedroom and access to a balcony facing the street itself was absolutely amazing. Vielen lieben Dank!

The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the room’s light actually worked. We were only able to see using the lights alongside the bed, bathroom, and a lamp, which didn’t illuminate the entire bedroom overall. It made getting ready in two separate rooms for a night out more tricky.

The location is off the main street on a bar lined avenue next to a busy theater. Many restaurants and coffee places within walking distance. Just off a ringstrasse. The rooms are a good size. Just a short 10 minute walk from the main train station.

If you open the windows, the loud crowd noise continues to sunrise. The loud Irish bar and next door theater are the biggest attractions on the block. No iron in the room to press suits or shirts.

Great location to visit the many Christmas markets in Koln!

At check-in, the reception staff gave incorrect information about on-site parking - we found out only at checkout that it is not included in the price of a stay! We had to pay a significant amount - more than nearby parking. The cost should have been clearly communicated at check-in... staff just shrugged when we queried the amount due and we were hassled to pay up.

The hotel was 20min walk from the Cathedral and the river and only 10 minutes from the main shopping area. The room was spacious and the view of the city was lovely.

The bed and pillows had seen better days and were too soft. Some additional coffee making supplies could have been provided in the room (teaspoons, milk etc). But, the reception were very helpful when asked.

The location was perfect to travel, eat at restaurants and was in close proximity to other amenities. Staff were polite during the stay and helped with general inquiries with how to use the train system for e.g. as well as other questions which as a tourist made it a lot easier! Bathroom was spacious.

When checking in, there was a bit of an attitude with one of the people at the Desk but it was pretty late in the evening so not a big deal. Lack of pillows on the bed which ended up killing my neck as well as my other partners on my stay. The room could get quite hot whilst in season, would be great if there was some form of air conditioning since it got pretty uncomfortable

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were super attentive. Really looked forward to the breakfast each morning. Many thanks to the staff for that. We were there for the football championships so you can imagine that breakfast was important after a late night.

Lift was out of order for the whole stay. Meant long waits or lots of stairs. Bit of drilling work going on somewhere in the hotel, which is ok but they did start before 9am.
