This is quite an amazing inn, which has given a modern approach to the inn's origins. The owners have really thought about how to make the best of things with EV chargers; cafe and Deli for people dropping by to charge their cars. A change for changing horses. You can arrange fly fishing lessons and shooting. The staff were lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant - venison delicious. The hotel does not have televisions in the rooms, which was initially a surprise but not missed. Lovely reading room with books and boardgames. The bedroom we stayed in was lovely with a view over part of the garden.

Lovely stay. The room was clean and so cosy. I loved the garden and the reading room was so lovely. All the meals were delicious! The breakfast room as so pretty and loved that it overlooked the garden. Drinks options were fabulous and reception staff really helped with advice on local activities

One quite rude member of staff at breakfast both mornings who made you feel awful just for asking to sit by a window! Young staff also not knowing what the fish of the day was when asked …simple thing

Full English Breakfast properly cooked fresh to order. Exceptional food both in the restaurant and the bar. Lovely old reading room with a variety of battered old leather seats - all supremely comfortable. Lots of reading material. Bedrooms lovely. The staff, without exception, were unfailingly polite, helpful and welcoming. Fly fishing tuition is available and recommended - at a price which is a little steep but worthwhile.

What was not to like? Absolutely nothing. The place is superb and I will definitely be going back - for a week or even longer. Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter The Arundell is worth a visit

Location is excellent as there are several Tesla chargers in the car park area, however the road is busy with large trucks at times and our bedroom was on the roadside, so was a bit noisy. Did not stop us getting a good nights sleep. The room was decorated and furnished with unique furniture and it was a novelty to have a radio rather than a TV in the room. We ventured into the guests lounge area which was very homely.

If we were staying for more than one night - would have liked a TV in our room.

The Arundell offered an excellent breakfast with plenty of choices available. Their granola was particularly good and we were able to buy some from the adjoining shop. We would particularly like to give our appreciation to The Arundell for letting extended family guests join us for breakfast (with their black labrador Drake). It made our, already lovely stay, even more memorable.

More coasters in the room please!! Haha - such a minor comment but it gave the staff a giggle!!

We stayed with you for a party at the venue. Everything was great. The facilities were very inviting, the staff were super friendly, and dinner and breakfast were of a very high quality.

The only issue was the water pressure in our room (Room 12). It made showering a chore, and difficult to rinse thoroughly. A bath wasn't an option as there wasn't enough hot water to go past a few inches. However, this didn't make a real difference to our stay. We still thoroughly enjoyed it. There are worse things going on in the world to worry about something so small, and that is why we still give 10/10.

The hotel is on the Cornwall/Devon border and perfectly located to break a long journey. It is easy to find, has ample parking, and on this occasion we were able to make use of the Tesla chargers in the car park. We were upgraded on check in to a lovely comfortable room. We had already book dinner at the hotel (based on reputation for good food) and we passed a lovely 90 minutes beforehand in the lounge, sipping drinks by the log fire. Our dinner was excellent with a wide choice and the wine we chose was very drinkable. Service was attentive and friendly and we enjoyed our evening very much. The next morning, after a fine breakfast, the hotel provided a walking guide around Lifton which we completed, before setting off back home.

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. We were were delighted by our stay which met all of our needs.

Staff were very accommodating and looked after our party of eight with differing demands. Restaurant staff also excellent. It felt like you were welcomed rather than just another guest!

Central heating had been switched off, hotel provided a portable heater but that didn’t heat the towel rail. No television in room but again hotel provided a small one on request.

We stayed at the Arundell for a wedding we were attending nearby, the location was perfect for that. The rooms were cozy and comfortable with space to do your hair and make up. The breakfast was nice, we had a full English. We had dinner at the restaurant which was also lovely. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back to explore the grounds and the surrounding countryside. Plenty of space to park.

The way that the shower functions in the room that we were in means you have to get in to turn it on, which means you end up with wet hair. Not really a problem but can be frustrating. Whilst the breakfast was nice, it was a bit expensive for what it was. There were no sockets near the bed to charge your phone etc.

It was clean . It’s a great location to use as a central base to travel around Devon & Cornwall, an area of outstanding beauty & history. The food was very good . Good car parking .If you have an EV car, there were quite charging points in the car park. ALL the staff were very polite & helpful can't say enough about them lovely people made you feel welcomed from when you arrived to departed . I will go back again in the future.

There was no TV in the room, which really didn't bother me, but it might others. A radio was supplied in the room. And to be fair, it was nice to have a break from the TV.
