Wonderful staff, immaculately clean, gorgeous food and value for money

People getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve sun beds with towels and not sewing them again for hours. There are signs to say that this is not allowed but unfortunately it is still being allowed to happen and having a knock on effect as everyone else feels they have to do the same to ensure that they have a sun bed. Such a shame

Very nice rooms, good pool.

Not a five star experience in my view. Too little sunbeds, also not a nice environment for over half of the beds. The pier is disappointing and overal it’s quite small.

Room size, breakfast variety, access to beach, walking distance to shops. Bar and pool staff were incredible, couldn't do enough for us and always with a smile. Pool was a good size and views of the sea lovely.

Charging for ice at a 5* resort was unbelievable. Reception staff could have been more warm welcoming / less frantic.

This place is really nice and comfortable spacious place to stay if you want to go with your partner. I travelled alone and wanted somewhere nice for my last few days in Thailand, however, I'm a bit of a 'rough around the edges' traveller and felt a but out of place here with some of the other guests.

The sunbathing area (fake grass area) is quite secluded, set back and sunk down which doesn't allow for much air flow. In 34+ degrees it felt like a hot box in there so couldn't sunbathe for long. Also, while there is direct access to the beach, there are no chairs service etc. on the beach, which is a shame as its secluded. The Lamai is a short distance away from the main Lamai tourist areas and markets, which is fine, but it's a decent 20/30min walk if you don't have your own transport.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and we had a good experience overall. The room was really nice, spacious, and super clean. We had a private pool, which was amazing. The bathroom has a shower and toilet in open space (some people might not like that, but we loved it). The bed was pretty comfortable overall. We slept well most nights. There are many birds in the resort, and you can hear them mostly at night. If you're a light sleeper, this might be an issue. We didn't have any issues with the mosquitos. We had a couple of diffusers, which helped us a lot. We appreciated the vibe of this resort. Many couples just relaxed at the pool, minding their business. This is not a resort for families with children, mostly because there are no activities for children. The breakfast was just average. There was an egg,waffle, and noodle bar, which was nice, but the eggs were undercooked every time. There were some options for fruits, bread, fruit juices, and not enough fresh fruits. Too many options for currys and other heavy foods that are not suitable for breakfast . The location of the hotel is okay, you have to walk a bit to the restaurants, but if you're looking for a place to relax, it's great. I wasn't too impressed with the food at the restaurant either, the prices were a bit high for what they offer, you can choose a restaurant in Lamai for lunch/dinner there. The staff was super nice and friendly and again, the housekeeping was the best .

Breakfast could definitely be improved. The shower gel it's low cost, I didn't like the dispenser as well (not exactly 5*) The tv cable was a bit weird. The tv got interrupted many times and the lighting in the room was well. Maybe it was an issue with our room only.

Very spoiling resort with great atmosphere right on the beach Infinity pool is 😍 We had pool access room which was also fun to just jump in as soon as we get back from a night out Service is going excellent and super welcoming and the staff is doing everything to make you feel good and taken care of Restaurant and its staff and service is 10/10 Location is good at the beautiful Lamai area, near the beautiful crystal beach and some excellent restaurants nearby as well as good massage places, though it’s quite far from everything else - chaweng is like 15 minutes drive and and fisherman village is like 20 minutes

An incredible and beautiful hotel all round. From the walk through to the stunning reception and the warm welcome from the staff, our stay at the Lamai Samui was perfect. We were fortunate to have an ungraded room through booking.com to a room with a plunge pool, and the room exceeded all expectations. Beautifully appointed and plenty of space, the room even had a frangence diffuser/mosquito repeller which not only kept insects away but filled the room with a lemongrass scent which felt so refreshcing to come back to after a hot day. The ground of the hotel are stunning, with a breakfast/eating area that overlooks the pool and sea. Breakfast time never felt rushed or busy with a good range of options from local dishes to more contenital options. The pool area was fantastic, with a huge, refreshing pool surrounded by plenty of sunbeds which didn't feel crammed in. There is also an additional area next to the pool with aritifical grass if you didn't want to sit next to the pool itself. From the pool you can walk a few steps down to a beautifully sandy beach and walk out into the water quite far before it becomes deep enough to be above your knees. The beach in surrounded by a lagoon so the waters are gentle and lapping with no waves. We did enjoy drinks on the pontoon that streches out into the lagoon and it was a great way to spend an evening watching the sun go down and sipping cocktails. Hidden away off the main road, you can't hear any road noise at all, but does allow quick access to other parts of the island. There are a few resturants dotted up the main road which were fantasic, along with traditional massage shops.

Very relaxing ambiance and the layout of the property is very nice !

We had a plunge pool room which was great however it is ground level where everyone can see straight through the room till the bathroom in the other side of the pool. Due to this we had to keep the curtains closed which made the room very dark. A bit far from Lamai Village.

We stayed as a couple, no kids trip, in a plunge pool room, breakfast included. the room was great size, pool beautiful but we did not use it much as the sea was too inviting. the bed is very big and comfortable. and linen soooo soft, very high quality. rooms were very clean, nice bathroom in the open. there are some mosquitos (which is to be expected), but the hotel provides the repellant and they light a spiral agains mosquitos every evening. for us, this was not a huge issue. the breakfast was ok, nothing special. if we stayed more than one week it would be very repetitive, though they do offer a la carte eggs,… the pool area has enough sun beds, around the pool and on the grass area next to the pool. the area is super secluded, very nice and quiet, but it is 20 minute walk away from all the fuss and the main street markets. we found it super romantic to walk on the beach during the day, there are many beach side massage salons that you just walk up to and pay about 400 bht for one hour oil massage. or if we did not feel like walking you can get a taxi on the street for 100-150 bht that takes you to the city. there is a very good new restaurant near - 5 min walk - Silver spoon that is just divine! the hotel staff was soooo nice, always a smile on their face!

the restaurant in the hotel is nice but the portions are quite small and it is super pricy. we also had a valentine dinner which cost us 5000 bht and the food was not good (wasted money and very dissapointing) i saw a lot of people were complaining.

We spent 10 days at The Lamai and everything was incredible, from beginning to end. The welcome, the villa, the grounds, facilities, food, restaurant, views, being right on the beach, location was easy to get to our activities on the island. What was the absolute best was the staff, especially the restaurant and bar staff. So friendly, hospitable, treated us like family. Went out of their way, but not making it seem like too much of a fuss. They were just amazing. Every morning at breakfast was like the it was the very first morning. Special thanks to the restaurant manager Kwan, who also did an outstanding job arranging an unforgettable New Year's Eve gala. On top of the big gala happening that evening, it was our son's 10th birthday that day and he arranged a special breakfast of the most divine chocolate birthday cake and his speciality - the 'Dreamsical' cocktail (for health and prosperity if I remember correctly). Also thank you to his whole team and our family's favourites Tubtim and Biggy! Chefs, just wow. Your food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The cleaning staff were also wonderful, and made a beautiful arrangement on our bed for my son's birthday too. We miss you all very much.
