Fabulous waterside location with amazing views. Lovely Georgian House which has been renovated in a modern quirky style. Delicious breakfast around a big table- we met the other guests who were all very interesting. Our host Daragh gave us a very warm Irish welcome. She was full of suggestions about places to go, where to eat and even organised for 2 other musical guests to play some traditional Irish music with one of her friends- above and beyond!
Everything at the hotel was wonderful. The choice of restaurants in the area was limited and didn't match the high standards of Barrow House

Daragh's property went above and beyond our exceptions. From the second we arrived at the picturesque location, we knew it would be an amazing experience. We were warmly greeted and shown our exquisite room, along with a map of the property, which is nothing short of a picture postcard. Daragh makes you feel welcome, and we felt privileged to be stay at her home. It is stunning and she takes great pride in making sure everything is perfect, while also making you feel comfortable. She has an amazing staff and breakfast will kick start your day as you are given scrumptious meals that definitely will keep you going for a large part of your day. Thank you Daragh and staff. It will definitely be difficult to top your hospitality.
All was perfect 🥰

Rare heritage building, restored and maintained by a dedicated team led by Daragh, the owner. Exceptionally friendly service, great a la carte breakfast, with locally supplied products. Every room has its own identity; the interior design is just right, coordinated, fun enough and not overdone, very elegant. Many have access to exterior private terraces, with views to the harbour or the garden. Even the music playing in the library's Sonos system is perfect for enjoying a relaxing evening around a glass of ... (many options). There is no TV in rooms, which is a plus. (There is one TV room, though, in the common areas.)
Internet was quite spotty in the more remote rooms of the building.

The breakfast was exceptional. There was an attractive and tasty variety of fruit/yoghurt/cereal dishes. We had home-made bread with Barrow House honey made by Barrow House bees. Barrow House hens also kindly donated the eggs for the hearty Irish breakfast. Breakfast was communal around a large square table which provided an opportunity to meet and speak with other guests. The conversation was always interesting as they were from all different parts of the world. The property's location is idyllic, right by the water's edge, where we had daily visits from a variety of wading birds and had wonderful views of the distant mountains. It was quiet and peaceful. A truly relaxing place to stay. Our bedroom was large, tastefully decorated and furnished with an en-suite luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower. There is a fabulous long sandy beach within short walking distance and the scenery is stunning. Daragh, our host gave us a warm friendly welcome on our arrival. She was always helpful and was ready to provide us with information and advice during our stay. (She even came to help me find my mobile phone which I had lost during a walk along the beach - and with the help of her two sniffer dogs, managed to find it!)
There just wasn't anything to dislike!

Wow what a find!! Barrow House is in a beautiful location and Daragh and the team run a fantastic place to stay. The house has been restored perfectly and blends modern convenience with the history. The room was superb, very comfortable and with everything needed. The local eateries were excellent and the taxi service spot on. Hoody and Betty make sure everything is done to the right standard - and they are the dogs!! We will return. Many thanks for the hospitality.

Barrow house is absolutely enchanting. It sits right on the water (when the tide is in) and on a large stretch of watery sand (when the tide is out.) The rooms are very comfortable, have everything you need, and are tidied and cleaned each day. Breakfast is served at large and beautifully set table, and when you leave your room in the morning you can smell the fresh hot coffee wafting up the stairs. There is a breakfast menu, and all meals are made to order. Though my husband and I don't normally eat breakfast, we found we were never able to pass up the lovely offerings at the Barrow House table. Much of Barrow House's magic stems from Darragh, the proprietress and host of the house. Darragh is one of the most unassuming, charming, and lovely people I've had the pleasure of meeting. You'll feel like you've known her ages within just a few minutes, and by the time you've been there 24 hours you know that she will be one of the things you miss the most when you leave. I can't say it enough - Barrow House is a gem, and we look forward to staying with Darragh again soon!

Exquisitely restored manor house facing out onto Barrow Harbour, making for an amazing luxury place to base yourselves on a motoring holiday of west Ireland. Darragh the owner is exceptional. She has a rare gift for genuine hospitality spiced with humour and quickly wraps you in lively conversation that leaves you feeling like old friends. The breakfast is generous, the menu is amazing and served around an old dining table that feels like a Jane Austen novel. Book while you can. I have a feeling this place will become so popular you can’t easily get in. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

I’m not sure where to start. It was honestly the most exceptional place we have ever stayed in. The locational was utterly stunning, overlooking Barrow inlet. Felt like another world. The attention to detail of the interior design was also stunning. Stylishly understated. The breakfasts were also sensational, cooked to order. I had the most magnificent vegetarian breakfast I’ve ever tasted. But finally & probably the most notable of our stay at Barrow House, was Daragh, the owner. She was the most welcoming, engaging host. Such a hard worker & yet enables all her guests to relax in shear luxury in these beautiful surroundings.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike!

Thus beautiful house and location were perfect. Tastefully and authentically decorated and furnished. Tranquil and idyllic. Daragh, the host, was fantastic. We can’t recommend highly enough and can’t wait to come back
Everything. But especially the amazing breakfast, where guests come and go, and sit together around a huge dining table. So lovely to chat with people visiting from all around the world

Barrow house was well beyond our expectations. This house first came to our attention by its stately picture online. This could not really be a bed and breakfast, could it? The beauty on the outside is only a scratch on the surface to the reality. The inside is also impeccably decorated. Daragh, the owner, has poured a lot of herself into this wonderful B&B. Not only does she own it, but is an excellent hostess. She is very good at finding those points of interest for each individual guest. For us, she not only recommended places to eat, but also made sure we had reservations for those special places. I will admit that her recommendations for restaurants led us to the best dinners we had during our vacation touring Ireland. We found the breakfasts in the morning to be very delightful as well. All the guests sit at one table, which is an excellent idea for initiating conversation. Daragh was always there to join in the conversation as well. She was always lively and interactive and always added something interesting and entertaining at the table. Darragh not only makes you feel like a guest, but also makes you feel like you're part of the family. This is definitely a must stay place.
