Fantastic welcome from the host who even took the suitcase up to our room (if he knew how heavy it was going to be not sure if we have offered...!). Room was compact and perfectly adequate for the two nights stay, comfy and bed. Bathroom OK (one minor complaint to follow). The information book in the room was worthy of a novel with plenty to read(!) and the reviews of all the local places to go and worship on a Sunday was a good read in it's own right... :) Breakfast OK with plenty of choices for cereal, fruit juices and endless cups of tea (would have preferred a tea pot option instead of having to keep getting up every now and again but maybe they wouldn't fit under the water dispensers...???) Pre ordering the cooked breakfast the night before is a good idea so as they know what to cook but does mean you can't change your mind at 3 in the morning if you wanted something different... All in all the hosts and their hospitality was first class... (Ps think he must be a fan of marmite...!!!)

Seemed a bit strange unless we were missing something in that the shower could only be turned on and off from the main chord outside of the cubicle which meant that water was still going onto the floor once we had finished a shower...???

What did we like? Everything! Malcolm and Heather are great hosts, friendly and full of local knowledge. The B&B is ideally situated near the town center, and has all the amenities we needed, including chocolates. Malcom very kindly bought us bottled water as there was a local issue with the tap water during our stay. The breakfasts were ample to keep us going throughout the day. We will definitely return again. If you have a car, take up his offer of reduced parking rates, but there is a drop off bay outside the B&B, you just can't park there for your stay, the parking is a 2minute walk away.

Nothing to not like

The breakfast was always well prepared,hot and made to rest. Malcom and Heather where always welcoming and attentive to our needs. Also able to give hood advice and recommendations when my son and I was out for our activities.

Although room was to be cleaned upon request the sign was unnoticed to clean when left on the door. Also shower door didn't close properly and was too hot at times for my son. Towels where not changed either, however if I requested I'm sure they would've changed them.

Great hosts. Great location central for the beach, parks, transport restaurants and bars. Ideal room with tea and coffee making facilities. Shower room with toiletries. Plenty of choice for breakfast, cooked was breakfast was fresh and hot.

Location was excellent. Friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast. Nice to have a smart TV in room. Clean, safe and comfortable soft bed and pillows. Parking is close by. Great place to stay in a homely setting.

Bedroom decoration could do with being more modern. Dislike net curtains. No room with a view. Enjoy the sound of seagulls!

Lovely homely guest house, Malcom & Heather are very lovely people, breakfast yummy, nothing is too much trouble for them ! Rooms comfortable, good size lovely shower, looking forward to staying again 😊😊😊😊

If I had to make a small criticism I personally think the room could do with updating

Our second visit to B and B Near the sea, the room was great, the breakfasts were delicious, the location was ideal for the beach and the town, and the proprietors were the most friendly people you'd ever get to meet, we'll visit again

This is a nice small house in a calm street, yet it is near the beach and pubs centre. It is also close to train and bus stations. The room was small but contained everything needed. Room in mint condition.

The bed was squeaking a bit.

Hosts were friendly and informative. They really want you to get the most out of your stay. Comfortable room with good tea/coffee supply. Good choice for breakfast and great location from which to explore Paignton. Discounted parking nearby.

Malcolm & Heather were very friendly & welcoming. They gave us information on where we could go for meals drinks & trips out.
