Friendly happy host. Close to shops and ferry. Bed was comfy. Lovely quiet place to stay and relax.

The rain. It was the middle of winter though. The power cut but was due to a pylon falling over in Wellsford!

Todate, the best accommodation we have had in N.Z. The location was terrific, we did not need to use the car during our 2 night stay. Russell was a great place to stay in the Bay of Islands. In hindsight we should of spent our 5 nights at the Bay in Russell and used the ferry to get to Paihia and Waitangi. Our host, Hayden, was very gracious and hospitable. Our unit, #1, felt like our own home. With plenty of room and polished timber floors, even in the bathroom. Russell has so much history to offer and Seaport Village a great and economic place to stay.

Having to leave... The establishment is for sale, hopefully it will retain its character. Would love to be able to afford the purchase price....and emigrate to Northland N.Z.

Fantastic place, right in the heart of town, opposite the RSA and just around the corner from the Nauti Penguin pub. Room was beautiful with wooden floors and pretty furniture. 2 big king beds, great shower, heat pump, overall very very comfy. Friendly greeting when we got there and parking right outside. We had Deluxe unit C and I think E and D are the same.

This is the only thing, the WiFi was terrible. It wouldn't stay connected and I couldn't do much on my computer as it was very slow. But that's all, as who wants to work when you're away. 😃

Had a great stay here and recommend it. Our room was spacious with a well-equipped kitchen with full fridge, comfy bed, and sofa. Plenty of room to spread out. There is wonderful espresso across the street at “Hell Hole”. The hotel is 1.5 blocks from the waterfront and ferry. It was a pleasant little walk to go for a swim. Lots of restaurants within one block. Recommend Hone’s Garden for incredible pizza. Russell is a delightful place and this hotel was spot on for our stay,

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and it was in a perfect location, just a short walk to the Strand. We were easily able to self cater and do our laundry which was really helpful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was tucked away at the back which we liked because it was quiet and we had our own off street carpark directly outside.

The lighting was a bit dim in the room and the fans very noisy! We also couldn’t turn off the outdoor security light.

I liked how the property was like a home, very welcoming, near all the required facilities, supermarket & restaurants. The owner was friendly, family oriented and very accommodating. It was spacey, had 2 toilets, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, dining room & patio area was wonderful.

It was dusty, required dusting and proper cleaning…there were dust under the bed, in the room and the blankets. Blankets require washing.

Very comfortable, calm, and homely. Nice having a sheltered deck with seats at the front and the back so you can sit and enjoy the sun in the morning and evening! Samantha is also a really cool chick. Also I discovered at check out that there are books and games in the reception area!!! I missed out!!!

Need to upgrade the frypans to ones with lids. Also need a pair of scissors for the kitchen.

The location of the accommodation was exceptional. It was easy to get around Russell. The rooms were big and airy with ceiling fans and air conditioning if required. As a family we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved it so much, we have already booked again.

The accommodation needs a deep clean and it was not the cleanest on arrival. The top of the oven was dirty and there was hair on the toilet seat. The couches and rugs need a deep wash. Ceiling fans are noisy. There was also a very unpleasant smell that came into the main bathroom from the compost.

Accessibility was very good, with car parking outside the door. It was great to be not bothered by housekeeping wanting to make beds etc. We could really relax. Very good fridge and kitchen area. It was walking distance to everything we needed in town.

The bed was a bit hard and the lack of a wardrobe space made the room look unnecessarily messy. The tiny fan in the bathroom was inadequate and made it very hot with no windows for air circulation. We had to leave the door open.

Everything- location, value for money. Most lovely friendly and helpful receptionist ever with his sulu and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable, clean & stylish. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.x Vinaka vakalevu!
