Marias Platzl is a cozy hotel located in a quiet neighborhood just a short distance from Munich’s city center, which makes it a great base for exploring the city while still enjoying some peace and quiet. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay, which added a personal touch to the experience

The breakfast offering was quite limited and, in my opinion, not worth the additional cost. The small room was clean and charming, but it felt very tight, barely enough space for two adults to move around comfortably. Also, the reception is only open from 11:00 to 20:00, which is quite unusual for a hotel. While this might be due to limited staff as it’s a smaller property, it does lack the full-service feel of a larger brand hotel.

Innovative solutions to small spaces! The standard bedrooms are small in square footage, but are so cleverly laid out,it makes them feel boutique and cosy, rather than claustrophobic. Location: 20 minutes walk to Marienplatz with its own underground car park and €100/ night cheaper than equivalent property in the old town.

The guest elevator is also the staff and goods elevator, which means it is overused and in a poor state. However, the hotel accommodation is only spread over three floors, so if there’s nothing wrong with your mobility, use the stairs.

Great location in a residential neighbourhood. Able to walk locally to the river on traffic free paths and not too far to the Altstadt. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was first class. We stayed when hotel rooms must have been at a premium in Munich because of an international conference and the prices of the room were artificially high. I would have liked to have been informed of this when booking. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and quirky although the en suite facilities might not be to everybody’s tastes! Overall the staff made it a very pleasant stay - so helpful and pleasant.

I would return to stay so nothing that was not liked. However the price for this period was very high.

If you want to truly experience Bavarian culture then look no further than this beautiful hotel. It is clean, has a gorgeous bar and beer garden. The staff are helpful and lovely, I especially got on well with Sophie. A lovely intelligent young lady who made me feel welcomed and always had coffee waiting in the morning. The breakfast is definitely worth the extra money. It is all you can eat with lovely weisswurst sausages, crispy bacon and scrambled eggs. Lots of choices of cheese and other cold meats. Freshly baked bread of all kinds and pretzels too. There were various other things for people with a sweet tooth, some vegetarian options and more. My room was always clean and tidy, also it was easy to get in and out with scanning your key card no matter what time it was. It's only a twenty minute walk to the city centre and there are plenty of public transport stops if you don't like walking (I do) the pricing was definitely reasonable for what it was and the black Friday booking.com deal made it even better. The best hotel I've stayed in during all my trips abroad and at home.

Nothing that I can think of 🙂

Comfortable, clean, good location and nice restaurant. It’s a traditional style hotel, small, with excellent staff. Good location for me with easy access to the Isar and nice walks but also walking distance to the old town.

There is no air conditioning, so the rooms can be warm but they provide a big fan and opening the window is fine. Be sure to ask for a room overlooking the courtyard. The street side has traffic noise but only with the windows open.

Location: Ideal for both business and leisure, with easy access to Munich’s city center. Garage: Secure parking simplified our daily commutes. Tranquility: Despite its central location, the hotel was a quiet retreat.

Room Size and Layout: The shared room was cramped, making it difficult to work and uncomfortable for two people. Bed Sharing: Not ideal for a professional travel arrangement. Bathroom Privacy: The integrated design offered little privacy, suitable for only one person at a time. Electrical Switches: Retro-style switches were unintuitive and sometimes frustrating to use.

The staff is super friendly; parking is easy and had no issues; the breakfast was stellar; the rooms were well decorated and you can tell a lot of thought went into the design; great location

There is almost no privacy when it comes to using the bathroom in the rooms; only a partially frosted glass door. Also, there's only one door for the shower and the toilet - and only one of them can be closed at a time. It's weird.

The room is a little small, the bath the same, but it is suffice. The hotel is placed at 20 mins away from the city center, in a quiet zone. No issues encountered. The only inconvenience was to find the parking entrance. Once reached the reception, all things settled. The room was clean, pretty quiet over the night. the bed was comfortable. didn't took the breakfast as it was 20 euros per person.

We enjoyed the location and style of the hotel. The parking garage was appreciated and totally needed, as no parking on the street was available. Highlight would be the staff and the restaurant. Yummy Bavarian specialties and flair!

We didn’t like the sliding door on the toilet that is shared by the shower. It was difficult to maneuver and got water all over the place. Room was stuffy if we didn’t open the window, but the traffic was too loud at night to keep it open while we slept.

Good location - close to the city centre yet felt residential. Easy check in process. Staff were helpful when we had an issue with one of our rooms and moved us without any hassle. They also found us extra umbrellas. Bed was comfortable. Great shower. Room was refreshed daily with complimentary bottled water. Good tea and coffee station.

Bathroom design provided no privacy when using the toilet. The design would only work for a solo traveller. The sliding shower door also made the toilet floor wet whenever it was used which was quite dangerous. No bathrobes or slippers despite being listed in description. Very small towels.
