Room at the top of the house (beware no lifts) but was exceedingly quiet in relation to the event being held at the pub, or general busyness of the pub. We were most surprised to go down to the pub and find it heaving! Sign of a good pub though, and all the food we had across 3 meals was really lovely. We were particularly impressed by how helpful the staff were in accommodating us and 2 friends at the last minute for a Sunday lunch and as requested gave us a quiet corner to enjoy chatting to our lovely friends who we only meet occasionally. Staff could not have been more helpful.

The bedroom was a little dark (just a matter of preference which can't be altered) but the window was very old wooden sash window that was quite draughty and didn't keep out the street noise. There was only one easy chair in this double room - another one would have made for a more comfortable evening after dinner.

We stay here a couple of times a year when visiting family in the area. This time there were 7 of us and all the rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff are helpful and breakfast was superb. Note: It does get very busy so if you want dinner, book a table in advance.

Dinner was below average which may have been because they were busy. 3 of us ordered gammon and all 3 were overcooked and tough. The food had taken a while to come and staff were too busy to come and check if the food was ok so we didn't send it back.

Room was well equipped, felt spacious, comfortable bed, and great tea tray. Bathroom was large, bright, powerful walk-in shower perfect after a long drive, modern and cared for. Breakfast was relaxed, lovely to have some different options than a traditional cooked - I had a delicious serving of avocado, bacon and eggs! Staff were all very helpful.

Blind pulley at the window felt a little high - I’m tall and it felt a bit of a stretch to open/close. Faint buzz from the lights, but I am over sensitive to that issue.

We stayed in Room No. 1, which certainly had a ‘wow’ factor on entering. The bedroom, lounge area, and bathroom were designed for wheelchair movement, which is why it was so spacious. The quality of the dinners certainly made up for a disappointing lunch – Steak and Unicorn Ale pie, Ravioli, Chicken Chilli – were all delicious. The staff were most friendly, and went out of their way to ensure that you had everything you needed

We were surprised that there wasn’t a chest of drawers in the room, or a ceiling light above a long dressing mirror. Although there was hanging space in the small wardrobe, we had to leave most of our clothes in the packing bags we had brought them in.

Originally we did not get the room we had booked but the staff were very helpful and soon changed it. The room was very comfortable and so was the bed. Especially liked the provision of fresh milk for tea and coffee. Lots of free parking and easy access to the beautiful surrounding area.

The food was generally good but the Sunday roast was disappointing and some things were not available at breakfast on our second morning.

Very comfortable room with nice large shower room. Cosy restaurant and bar and very nice beer garden with excellent drink prices.

As bedroom on ground floor with external door, would have been nice to have easier to use curtains over the door when going out. They were fine if you were in the room. Also outside light not working so difficult to see when returning in the dark.

Comfortable and spacious superior room on 2nd floor.. reception and bar staff very pleasant and helpful. All communal areas cosy and modern updated decor.

No lift. Good menu choice but a few options not available on both days we ate there. Each day staff apologised in advance that either short staffed or very busy so we may have to wait for meals to be ready. It seems to be usual these days for hospitality industry to be short staffed.

Breakfast was excellent. Cereals, fruit, yoghurt and croissants if you wanted followed by hot breakfast from menu some of which were: crushed avocado & smoked bacon on toasted ciabatta with poached eggs & chilli flakes (delicious), eggs Benedict with crispy smoked bacon (delicious too), full “Welsh “, veggie breakfast, pancakes (also delicious) & smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Breakfast was not to be skipped. We ate there on 2 evenings too. The philly beef fries were fantastic. As was Monday night pie night.

If I was being picky : Better lighting in the room. And the old sash window did not want to stay open.

Historical coaching inn. The rooms were beautiful. The staff couldn’t be more friendly or more helpful. Located right in the middle of the little town. Given proper milk for the room instead of wasting plastic -much better. Had a meal in the bar and it was very nice. The breakfast was good - ordered and made as required. The home-made muesli was delicious!

The tea at breakfast was brewed and kept warm and wasn’t very nice at all. The coffee was good though.

Just spent one night, it was a wonderful day and evening we had. The room was lovely and clean. Staff were so lovely and helpful even let us check in early as the room was ready. Come back for Sunday lunch 😋 great value as 2 adult Sunday roasts. You got a free bottle off wine, and the food was an amazing 👏 breakfast, absolutely gorgeous. Massive thank you to you all. Definitely come back.

Nothing it was 💯
