Ease of check in/ out, cleanliness of reception, my husband appreciated the walk in shower, the breakfast was lovely.

Room 111 was quite shabby looking, when we arrived the window was open so went to close it & it proved very difficult as the catch was broken on one side (an easy fix) the lights on headboard didn’t work properly, the room looked a bit grubby (although there was a note saying they were aware of stains on carpet) it’s not really an excuse! better to get the room up to scratch then rent it out. Also the breakfast staff were rather keen to get people out & tidy up couldn’t get a second coffee or a second apple juice at 25 past 9 on the Tuesday, Wednesday was slightly better.

Welcoming, clean, comfortable. We have stayed a few times now at this hotel. The fact that as soon as you walk through the door the space is spotlessly clean, smart and welcoming, makes it a first ‘go to’ for our trips to Doncaster. The room is thoroughly clean, no clutter, no dirt lurking in corners. We were so impressed with the staff who are friendly, pleasant and efficient. They work tirelessly, which is particularly noticeable at breakfast… tables are cleared and cleaned promptly, food is regularly checked and replenished and there is never any sense of being rushed. It’s busy, but that’s understandable given the included breakfast and great value for money. This was our first visit with our dog, and, for pet owners, dogs are not just tolerated but welcomed. At no time did we feel awkward having the dog with us. The room was carefully selected for us for ease of access to outside space and at end of corridor so there was no late night footfall to disturb her. Management and staff here a doing a great job which is much appreciated!

The bed was showing slight signs of ‘age’ with a slight sag in the middle. However, we both slept really well. Since dogs are welcome, it might be helpful to have a designated dog bin by one of the patches of grass on perimeter. We met other guests with dogs who were also uncertain what to do with poo bags.

Considering we stayed at Christmas with reduced staff our stay was lovely. Breakfast offering fantastic and the bucks fizz/mince pies were a welcome surprise. Room was very clean albeit not as spacious as we'd hoped with the sofa bed being assembled for our arrival Just what we needed for a trip to see the husband's family

Room was quite cold when we arrived and took ages to warm up which wasn't ideal after a long drive and with grumpy toddler with us. Would have been nice if breakfast had pain au chocolat or failing that more options of spread to keep toddler happy. Downstairs toilets were disgusting especially the morning of our check out Not sure why we needed a bag of fresh towels/drinks every day given the duration of our stay. I'd have preferred to get things from reception if I needed them

Beautiful hotel, loved the food. The staff were amazing except for one guy who was not very nice. He seemed like he didn't want to be asked anything. He had a stern stoned face every time I wanted to ask something. He needs to be professional and treat people with respect. I am sorry but his attitude is bad. Treat every customer the same, be polite and be professional. He made me feel uncomfortable as if he didn't want us to ask anything or to be downstairs with my children. That was the only bad part of my stay. All the staff members were lovely, helpful and professional

His attitude particularly when he was dealing with me and my children. Rude, stoned faced as if he didn't want to be bothered. As soon as another customer comes he was nice and polite. I hope he treats all customers the same it doesn't cost anything

The staff were incredibly friendly to me and my daughter. They were happy to let me store her milk in their fridge, the travel cot was set up ready with bedding when we arrived, and laundry was also available for a small charge. The cleaning staff also cleaned our room during our one-week stay when requested, as toddlers make a lot of mess! The room itself was perfect for our needs, everything available and working and spotlessly clean. Though it's a bit out of town, it turned out to be great location for us as there was a huge supermarket, soft play centre, and a family-friendly pub (with children's play area) literally next to the hotel.

A good place to stay. Staff are friendly, polite, helpful. Hotel is clean and has the feel of being well maintained. The included breakfast is good, the quality and quantity on offer. We noticed fresh supplies were constantly being brought out and staff quickly cleared tables. Room was fine and bed was super comfy. Great night’s sleep.

When we went into room it was all fresh and clean except that there was a nasty drain smell coming from bathroom. The window had been left wide open ( during Storm Darragh!) so cleaning staff must have been aware of the smell. We decided that because otherwise clean we would put up with nasty smell for 1 night. We shut bathroom door and slept well.

Breakfast was fantastic...everything nice and hot. Had a range of non dairy milk and even did vegan sausages on request ! Room was clean. Beds comfortable, towels nice and fluffy. Met our request for a walk in shower for our disabled daughter. Location good for our needs. Quiet at night with window closed. Staff very friendly and helpful.

With pull out bed used it meant the room was very very small. Had to put the chair by the door so we didn't trip over in the dark ! A bit of noise from traffic when the window was open. Only a few disabled bays..some with no blue badge displayed...? Had to park further away across 2 bays so could ensure our daughter could enter/ exit the car easily.

Bright, very clean basic hotel. Shower room exceptionally clean, easy to access and use. Bed comfortable and warm. Staff were friendly and passed on local tips for places to visit in town and about the racecourse. Breakfast buffet ran like clockwork and good range of choices was available. Although near main roads and a roundabout the hotel was not noisy on our stay.

We might have preferred being a bit closer to town/ racecourse...location was difficult if you did not bring your car, but taxis were fair and easily available. Nearby eating out only 5 mins walk away.

The stay here was better than our stay at the holiday Inn at Grimsby the staff went out of their way to help us and the room was other size that was ok for our two large dogs it was also on a ground location and you didn't have to go up any stairs to get to the room I explained I was disabled the lady said she was sorry that we couldn't book a disabled room they do have them but unfortunately there wasn't one available but to make sure to check next time we stay the breakfast was beautiful and they let us have a late checkout because we had large dogs with us and they knew that we had had a long trip of 8 hours so they said have a late checkout so that we could go back after breakfast and rest before our journey of another 4 hours

The only thing they could do if having here is an electronic charger for electronic cars that would be really helpful

Small room although probably more suitable for stays of one or two nights duration. Location and access to shopping and cafes with only a pub and service station withing walking distance.
