Located in the beautiful village of Duxford, this lovely pub has a few rooms. We loved how clean everything was, the peace and quiet, ample parking and the ability to get a drink and a lovely dinner in the pub itself. Tea and coffee provided was excellent and high end as were the toiletries and white fluffy towels. The rooms are compact but cleverly furnished. The food and service here were wonderful.
The bed was only a double and had a footer and as we are both tall this was a bit tricky. Also the duvet was only a double and we are used to King size duvets. I do believe there are plans "afoot!" to change these beds which will be good.

The property forms part of the wonderful community pub in the village of Duxford. The room itself was clean and adequate for our two day stay. The pub itself has a lovely ambiance and breakfast and evening meals were good value for money. The owners were also very friendly and helpful.
The main issue we had with the room was the noise from the plumbing and external pump, which was quite noisy the first night, not so much the second. The landlord was aware of it and said it was mainly due to the drainage system which was currently being worked on in the village.

Very quiet village, and the host (Andrew) was very helpful, the bar staff were also very polite and well-trained. The food was good too and reasonably priced. They even had my No.1 draught ale available (Timothy Taylor's Landlord) - a bonus..! The accommodation cabins were very clean and the bathroom facilities were perfect. Each cabin is WW2 themed and are dedicated to an airman associated with RAF Duxford. We were visiting the area for two nights, firstly researching family history, and then a day at the wonderful IWM Aerodrome. The John Barleycorn was a perfect location for these activities and I would certainly stay there again.
I can't think of anything that was a problem.

The location was excellent. We found a fabulous community hall that did wonderful breakfasts. This was a recommendation by one of the staff members at JB. Andrew and Ian we were exceptional hosts, and went above and beyond, providing a little fridge for our diabetic dogs insulin. The food at JB far exceeded our expectations - we ate in the restaurant most evenings.
Our only regret was not staying longer

Ideal location and very picturesque. Friendly staff and helpful local knowledge. Delicious evening meal with good menu choices.
Bedroom has several cobwebs, and dead spider in the bathmat. No WiFi or phone signal in the room. Very loud extractor fans that went on for over half an hour and could be heard from the joining room in the night. Otherwise, clean and comfy.

The owner of the Hotel is super nice! He was very kind and helped us with everything we needed!! The Hotel room was big and the bathroom was with a bathtub. Additionally, on Sunday night there is a Quiz night, they let us join and we had such a blast! Also is the food fantastic!! I would always come back.
I would not recommend traveling without a car to the hotel. Duxford is a sleepy small town without a real public transport system. The nearest train station is about 25 min walking (some parts without a footpath). We were very lucky to catch some UBERs. The only "bad" thing with our stay was that the mattresses were worn out.

Beautiful setting in a little village. Very easy to locate! The atmosphere was fantastic, very relaxed, the room was very comfortable and quiet, we had everything we needed, including exceptional tea bags!! Loved the outdoor seated area with handcrafted blankets and cushions. The food was very good, wonderful bread basket with breakfast! Thank you Andrew and Ian for your warm welcome. Also a big shout out to Becky and Toby great service behind the bar and waiting on us, we loved to chat! The bonus of a quiz night on Sunday was great fun! Well done Elvis/Neil 😁 We felt truly spoilt on a birthday weekend to visit the IWM Duxford. We would very much love to stay again. 🙏
I have absolutely nothing negative to report! 👍

A great looking pub with a separate accommodation block which has been designed to fit in with the overall appeal of the pub and outside seating/ lounge area. The staff were friendly and informative, the owner Andrew was an excellent host and makes you feel very welcome. The food was also very good ( evening meal and continental breakfast) Should I find myself in the area again I would not hesitate to stay here again. I liked the fact that there are only four en suite rooms , I believe this added to the whole appeal of my stay.
I can’t say that I have any dislikes and if I had to be super picky , all I could say is that I enjoy a powerful shower but the showers in the room were at normal pressure so I can’t hold them responsible for my needs.

Charming, quaint English village. The BarleyCorn had all modern amenities with updated bathrooms in a pub/bed and breakfast which is over 400 years old! You got a real sense of living in an English Village. The Innkeeper and Owner-Andrew was charming and provided great recommendations for visiting the sites in the village. Pub food for dinner was good and wine selections and beer were also good! If you are going to Imperial War Museum at Duxford -I recommend a stay here, closer than Cambridge and not crowded at all. Chance to experience English Country life of a by-gone era.

A picturesque thatched pub. Loved the location, ideal for our trip to The Imperial War museum. Warm and friendly staff and good food
Mattresses were a little too firm for our liking causing disturbed sleep. Could feel the springs and think a mattress topper would have helped 🤔
