breakfast was cool, menu even changes slightly over the course of the 4 days i stayed, staffs at the entrance are quiet yet initiates to assist when they see the need arise.

requested for a room with sea view as that was my booking, however, the room i got had alot of bird defecates on the window, had a hard time actually taking good photos of the view without climbing up the chair for an area of the window that was cleaner..

Please was clean with few project coming up. Will be exciting once the projects are completed.

The power socket has issues. We have problem charging our phones. The internet is not strong enough.

The breakfast was amazing even though they dont seem to have gluten free bread there were so many delicious choices to eat, they had two chef one preparing eggs how you like and another preparing delicious local food mostly with rice noodles so it was perfect. The jacuzzi was also quite nice and i loved the musical band they had on friday so talented everyone was dancing and it was perfect cause then i didnt need to get out of hotel at night alone to have fun! The amenities are nice too. Grab taxi from there to the old town is super cheap. I didnt get to stroll much around the gurney drive but did went to the shopping mall nearby and there are couple of banks nearby which is handy for atm withdrawal.

As an asthmatic person not a fan of carpets, i prefer rooms without carpets but in the end it went ok w the room i got it was cleaned and didnt had issues.

I liked the room. It's spacious and brightly light. I had the seaview room, which I can view the beautiful sunset from my window. The toilet was clean and spacious with a bathtub. The other good option that is provided in the room..... a safe. Last but not least, I have enjoyed the free breakfast spread. The food was good, and we particularly tasted the famous ones in Penang here. Your on the spot cookings were just great, from char kueh teow, hokkien mee to the local deserts. Love it!

As I can understand, this hotel was formerly known as Evergreen Hotel. We used to stay here whenever we were in Penang. It's not convenient not to have handphone charging by the bedside. Hahaha, sorry being rude.... I see you are still keeping the old way with your car parking. I can't think of any more negative remarks. Hope to see more upgrades on my next stay.

The bed was amazing and comfortable! Room is very spacious with priceless view of the ocean. The hotel atmosphere is classic and well-maintaned. A personal compliment to Mr. Badrul from the bellboy team, who was a very helpful and sincere gentleman. He was attentive to our needs and did all the extra miles by helping us with checking in. He always greets guests with the best smile while working so efficiently!

The in-room dining options are very limited for a 5 stars hotel. A staff at the front desk, who apparently was new, gave a not very welcoming experience :( Was asking if I can do check in or early check in, only to be responded with a hand wave signaling “no” and cold answer “later at 2”. No greetings, no how can I help you today, etc. Hope he can show warm gestures and welcoming smile to other guests in the future!

Location on Guerney drive is good in front of foreshore. We took the seaview room to enjoy the nice view. Breakfast spread was delicious with plenty of local fare to choose from.

Given a later check out by Reception but the Duty Manager called to ask when we would be checking out. Seems it was not entered into the system correctly which sadly left us with an unpleasant feeling just as we were ending our holiday. They also had a durian package available but no information provided and only found out about it on our last day. Time for some old furniture to be repaired or replaced.

Gurney Bay Hotel stay was a pleasant experience. The room was comfortable and spacious, the beds cozy. Complete set of toiletries are provided, bedroom slippers, drinking water, even apples to munch on. It's location is also near shopping malls, beach and eateries. Breakfast was delicious and served in a calm and organized ambience, no rushing for places or time schedule to adhere to. There were no breakfast vouchers to worry about. Entry is with room numbers. Check in and check out is a breeze. Parking is easy and convenient. No cards or validation of parking tickets required. The surrounding is scenic, especially at night. The staff is very well mannered, polite and helpful at all times, from the front desk to the chefs as well as the housekeeping staff, bell boys and all. Truly a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Gurney Bay under Park Royal Hoel management is the best hotel we have stayed in Penang. Everything in the room is refreshed everyday. From towels, bottles of water, bed sheets even fresh daily apples. These small touches made our stay restful and enjoyable after my wife was discharged from hospital and need the extra time to recover from her medical event. The staff from reception to the doorman were courteous and helpful We could not ask for more.

The stench outside of the hotel that came from a drain between the hotel and the new Green Bay Park. I suggest that the hotel management should alert the Penang council of the sewage stench that really spoilt the seaside ambience. A simple flush of the drain should remove the stench.

Breakfast was great!!! A wide selection and usually very hot and fresh. The water views from our room was great!! Lovely view. The staff were all VERY friendly.

The pool could use some work. The water was not heated so it was VERY cold. Too cold for me and my son to use. The kids pool was good but also cold and there were many sharp edges so I had to make sure my son was VERY careful. He did cut his pinky toe on one of the sharp edges so we left because it was bleeding. They also don’t let you take the towels to your room and don’t let you sign them out so be aware if you’re bringing kids. Bring your own towel if you want to wrap them up to go back to your room.

The hotel building exterior looks small compared to the tall structures around it, but the hotel is every bit as good. The view from the sea view room had a nice view of the sea as well as the Sunrise. The complimentary soft drinks and fruits were a nice touch. The location is excellent. Close to a lot of food courts as well as two malls with food courts, restaurants, and grocery stores. There's a nice stretch of walkway if you just cross the road. The staff is friendly and helpful. My expectations were low knowing that it was an old hotel but it did not feel like an old hotel. I had a very pleasant stay.

The shower is in a bathtub and while it's my problem, I have a leg problem that made it hard for me to get in. I wish it just had an enclosure for a shower, maybe as an option. Room lights were not very bright but that's how most hotel rooms are.
