Fabulous view of the water and marina, watching the sailing dinghies, windsurfers, yachts, ferries and big ships is fascinating. Comfortable bed, small fridge in room to keep your own beers & wine, tea/coffee kettle, pedestal fan. Good breakfast spread, secure parking garage, nice terrace with sunbeds, chairs and parasols. Pleasant 1.5km walk into the old port, with lots of restaurants, via the promenade or tree lined boulevard.

No shops and just one restaurant in the immediate area. No restaurant in the hotel.

We loved the deck along the sea— so special in the morning or any other time. We loved the quiet neighbourhood. We especially loved the walk from this hotel into the city along the sea and park and beach— so lovely in the morning light, and walking home this way in the evening, leaving the crowds, the quiet small groups on the beach, the moon over the line of boats, the glamour of Cafe Barriere en route. This year too we discovered the Mail itself with the tree lined walk in also nice.

We would love a bit of cooked breakfast and better coffee.

The location was great. A little way out of town, but it was within a 15 minutes walk along the sea front, so very pleasant walk. Also nicely located for cycling to Ile de re. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. There is a nice terrace overlooking the sea with comfortable seating

The only small detractor was that the breakfast was a little like a business hotel buffet experience. No personal touches. However the breakfast was comprehensive and reasonable value

The helpful welcome, useful advice on restaurant options in La Rochelle and booking service created very positive first impressions. The hotel and room are comfortably laid out and the interior decor is notable for the artistry and positive experience it created. We enjoyed a beautiful view and as sailors, loved watching the passing boats.

The additional costs and tone of notifications instructing guests on how to behave! Parking is an additional cost and breakfast is an additional cost. There may be practical reasons for this, but we feel they should be contained within the accommodation costs which somehow make them more palatable.

Beautiful view from the balcony, really spectacular! Hotel is showing its age but it's still nice and very clean. Rooms are a bit small but who wants to stay inside? There was an issue with parking but the staff eventually sorted it out. Breakfast area on deck is phenomenal. Overall a very pleasant stay, would return!

Covered parking spots are tiny, my car just wouldn't fit! But outside parking is just fine!

It was a nice welcome to La Rochelle, to be here in what is perhaps the nicest part of town, so near to the sea and the city's park district. The room was stylish and the view was pleasant even though the room faced away from the ocean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope to visit again soon

Hotel is located not far from Vieux Port (25min along the beach and park), in a quiet neighborhood and especially has an excellent view to the harbor and the cove. Enjoyed breakfast in the patio, soaking in breeze and the morning sun. Breakfast is excellent for the price. Highly recommd this hotel to visitors to La Rochelle.

No AC (but has fan) as it was hot during the visit.

Our room was as described, with a beautiful view. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the little terrace was pleasant for watching the boats. An easy walk to the old town in less than 30 minutes, mostly through a beautiful park. Parking garage was easy to access even with a large vehicle.

Although the property looks a bit dated, it's spotlessly clean and well maintained.

We asked for a room with a sea view room and that is what we got. Fabulous balcony and stunning views of sea and marina. Continental breakfast was very nice also. Breakfast times really suited us. You did not have to book a time just arrive before 10.30

No evening meal facilities. But we knew that before we arrived. There was a great selection of restaurants in La Rochelle all within a short walk. I liked everything about the hotel.

Lovely hotel set about an easy and flat 2km walk from the centre. Comfortable rooms and fabulous view of the sea and harbour. Good safe parking which can be pre-booked.

No air conditioning in the rooms so in the height of summer this could be an issue as the rooms are very warm. Also we tried to get a drink one evening about 10pm and was told by the night porter it was not possible even though the hotel brochure said we could be served up to 11pm.
