The room is spacious, clean, and comfy. The private en suite spa bath is welcoming. The services are good and the staff is clearly out to meet the needs of the guests. Overall hotel amenities are good and well maintained.
The location is rather inconvenient, though it seems close to Gora Station on the map. The road is not walkable and unsafe due to steep incline, narrow with no path for pedestrians. The hotel provides shuttle service, but it starts only at 10 am. A 9 am start-time may be more reasonable.

The food was excellent. It is more slanted towards "western" tastes than the food at the many ryokans that we had been staying at, but as our stay was at the end of our two-week trip and a change from what we had been eating, it was actually welcome as re-entry. We are walkers and did not use the shuttle bus, but having it available would be perfect for many. The museums in the area are quite wonderful and well worth visiting. The roo
The hotel could do a significantly better job having maps and pamphlets in English available for those who want to explore. We did all right, but it was only because we did our research on the web from our room. The arrangements for the public bath is not "normal" for Japan, but it is OK because of the private bath in the room. We were on the river side with a great view, and I doubt it would have been as nice if we had been on the uphill side.

Outstanding breakfast and dinner options. Very high standard. Room was comfortable and quite big.
Initially we didn't like the rather corporate, unfriendly check in but after that we found staff were friendly and helpful. We were also Initially disappointed with the view from our room which although facing the river was looking out on commercial buildings, and the river below was only visible if you leaned out from the balcony. Again, once we got over that we focused on the mountain view beyond the buildings. After the first impressions of the hotel we discovered how good the food was an ended up extending our stay a further 3 nights ( 6 in total). The shuttle bus to and from Odawara and lifts to Gora Station were a help.

Stayed at a lovely spot in Hakone with a private onsen and a beautiful view overlooking the river. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom during my stay, which made the whole experience even more special. Having a private onsen to relax in after a day of exploring was a real treat. The hotel also offered a convenient shuttle service, which made getting around much easier. Peaceful, scenic, and very relaxing overall.
The only downside was that it was too cloudy to catch a view of Mt. Fuji—but everything else made up for it. Peaceful, scenic, and very relaxing overall.

What's not to like? This is probably one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at. We had a room with a private onsen tub in the room which I highly recommend. The staff are so nice and accommodating. Also the restaurant is wonderful and not as expensive as I feared it might be given that this is a five star hotel and you're relatively short on accessible alternatives. They also have a surprisingly good vegan and vegetarian menu, my wife is vegan and I was very worried but this turned out to be a huge relief because she had many good options to choose from and was quite pleased.
Really the only thing that was regrettable was other foreigners (I say this as an Italian). The public onsen experience was completely ruined by a group of italiani maleducati talking constantly at high volume (Japanese don't need to be told this so I suggest the hotel ask guests and post signage to keep noise down and be respectful of other guests in the co-ed onsen), and watching other foreigners wear their spa robe and sandals to the restaurant even though you are asked not to do this during check-in. Also witnessed a woman filling a plastic bag with food from the breakfast, really? So rude and disrespectful to the local culture, I was astounded.

I couldn't be happier about my stay here with my family. From the moment we first arrived until the moment we left the staff were not only extremely friendly and accommodating, they also went above and beyond. They took the time to make my family feel like we were their most important guests. They also assisted me in calling up the bus company we used to get there to follow up about an item that had been lost on the bus, which they then organised for us to pick up from the station when we were leaving. The room was amazing. The size of the room, the size of the bed, the shower, and the balcony hot tub were just brilliant. There was nothing better than coming back to the room after a day of adventuring to soak in the tub to relax. They have a free shuttle to Gora station where you can get the ropeway to Ashinoko or ride the Hakone Tozan railway, and also a free bus to Odawara station to continue on with your travels. This is an amazing place to have a break from the big cities and relax a bit closer to nature.

Such a fun, and gorgeous hotel! Great amenities and comfortable check-in experience. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. We liked the shuttle bus to Gora station and utilised this a lot. Also the shuttle to Odawara station. The sushi restaurant across the restaurant was also amazing to try and also a 7/11 closeby. An amazing place to come back to after big days of sightseeing!
Not too much in the local area, but this was fine as we travelled out each day.

My third time staying at this location. Love the onsen, breakfast and staff. Make sure you catch the shuttle from Odawara and it’s easy to get to. Love how close it is to the cable car and ropeway. Too bad it was snowing during our stay. Gora brewery by Nobu and the Itoh dinning by Nobu are so deliciousz make sure you get a reservation for Itoh.
You can’t easily walk to Gora station. There’s a 500m elevation gain. We did it once but it’s not easy. Take the hotel shuttle free or book a taxi.

Friendly reception staff and cozy reception area. King size cozy bed and love the private hot spring tub in the room which we purposely choose this hotel becuase of it. Nice breakfast with 2300Yen per pax.
Initially requested an extra bed for my 7 year old daughter but they got extra chage of 8,000Yen, however, we requested a baby cot (which is free of charge) for my 8 months old son while our daugther slept with us on king size bed.

The hotel was beautiful, modern and well maintained with many great facilities. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom large and great products. Loved our view out to the river from the balcony, and the private onsen on our verandah - though it was chilly getting into it at first, at -1 degrees :). The hotel shuttle to and from Odowara station is a great service (free) and was a great help in getting to and from the property, as was the car service to and from Gora station. I had planned to walk to and from Gora however staff recommended not to, it's a bit of a treacherous track apparently and all very steep (getting to Gora). Food in the restaurant for dinner was exceptional quality, and the service of all the staff just brilliant.
The check in process was chaotic and slow, it seemed like the hotel was underprepared to check in when many guests arrived at the same time. Waiting wasn't the issue it was more the lack of updates from the staff, but we arrived in the afternoon when there were drinks and some snacks on offer free, so this was a nice touch. Also, given the region (volcanic area) there is a constant smell of sulphur, not a problem initially however on the last day it was so strong it was inside the hotel even with doors closed. As an asthmatic this was a problem for me, it would be good for this to be noted on the hotel website (it is noted on signs at the tourist sites such as Owakudani however).
