Loved the view, the access, the communication was fantastic
We didn’t get in until about 10pm, it was freezing in our room, it would’ve been nice if the heater was turned on for us as well as the under floor heating. We look after Airbnb’s and I always turn the heater on for guests if they are arriving on a cold day. It’s very much appreciated, the tv in our room also have black lines running across the screen and was occasionally very pixelated, the pixelated may be because of reception but the black lines will be because it’s getting tired. We didn’t watch much tv though but thought we should mention it as you may want to replace it.

The location and facilities were great, the kitchen had everything you'd need, the bed was comfy and especially the hot tub and the sauna were amazing! Before our stay I saw a few reviews mentioning the sauna, but couldn't find any proper info or photos of it. The resort should advertise it more as for us it was a huge bonus having our own sauna. You don't find that in many places in New Zealand! So as this may help someone in the future looking for info about it - I can confirm it was a proper Finnish sauna and we absolutely loved going for a dip in the lake straight from there. The lake views are gorgeous and the surroundings are peaceful.
It seemed to be true what other guests had said about the soundproofing being nonexistent. We had the downstairs unit so from the bedroom you can hear absolutely everything that's going on upstairs, people walking, talking, going to bathroom.. It was pretty annoying to be woken up to that at 6:45am after some birthday wines the previous night, but to be fair in the end it was lucky we did wake up early as witnessed the most insane sunrise!

Lovely view
Had a problem when a cleaner advised outside unit door we need to be out of the unit at 8am. She lied as she wanted to get in and start the cleaning I showed her the information sheet and advised was 10am. In the confusion we got locked out of our unit. She refused to open the door for us advised she had no key when clearly she had key to access unit for cleaning I was in my pyjamas outside. Very embarrassing had to get into the car and go to reception for get new key. Advised at reception time to vacate unit was 10am. Reception was helpful. Not a good way to start our day.

Generally clean and modern. Nice bathroom with good shower. Fabulous view over lake. Comfortable bed and nice crisp white sheets.
Maintenance required. Ripped curtains need replaced. Ripped carpet by bathroom door. Faux fur rug on end bed possibly needed a wash (a no for me along with cushions on bed unless washed between guests). Blood spots on duvet inner - sandwiched between two sheets. So general attention to detail required. No sink with tea making facility so fill jug in bathroom. Water chlorinated taste so take your own. Noise between units so advise talk quietly...dont walk round too much - walk lightly and dont run water later at might as annoyed neighbour may (did) turn up music and run bathroom fan. Expensive.

Great views and surroundings. The rooms were clean and tasty pizzas
Had breakfast at the restaurant, the cooked breakfast was advertised with ciabatta bread, but came out with plain white sandwich bread that was stale, all food was cold and barely edible (bacon under cooked) and coffees were lukewarm, and one breakfast and two coffees missed entirely. The fresh fruit in the pancakes wasn’t fresh. The staff did apologise and gave us free takeaway coffees that were hot for which we were grateful. We also had a boat, and they directed us to where it could be parked but weren’t given a key to the gate to access the wharf.

Sunning place, lovely big patio over the water, nice size apartment, decent kitchen, big comfy bed and all very clean, we had the ground floor apartment, can’t say what the upstairs apartments was like, never got to see them, but they do all have a balcony overlooking the lake There’s lot to do in the area, cycle paths on the doorstep and easy riding, lots of water activity and the town is a quick drive away, but a few steps away is a very welcoming bar and great food. Best place I’ve stayed so far in the 2 and a half months visiting
One group of the guests seem to be under the impression we all like the same music, very loud! I did complain (which I very rarely do) but was told they couldn’t really do much about it, at least it didn’t go past 10pm I know and understand that it’s not the fault of the property, it was just a shame as it did spoil the atmosphere, but that said I would still love to go back sometime

My partner and I have stayed at many places across New Zealand and Marsden Lake Resort by far has exceeded every one of those. It was the most luxurious accommodation sitting on a lake with views of snow capped mountains. The open lounge and dining space that stretches out on to the deck to the kitchen area, that had every cooking essential you could need. We enjoyed the very comfortable bed and loved soaking in the hot tub overlooking the water and other villas. Absolutely stunning, thank you so much for our most favourite, memorable stay!

We opted to stay in one of the west-facing 1-bedroom unit, in order to catch the late afternoon sun. The unit was very well equipped with enough items to make a long term stay an attractive possibility. We loved the walk-in double shower, along with the nicely scented shampoo/conditioner/soap. The wifi was strong and the bed super comfy. An added bonus was the washing machine and dryer, both of which were located in the garage and were accessible to all occupiers of the 3 units (the 1-bedroom downstairs, and the 2 studio units upstairs).
The TV was not a smart tv, so we were limited to watching only what was available on Freeview and the few Sky channels. While we loved the afternoon sun in the unit, the large west-facing deck had no shade available, making staying out there in the 30c heat too hot. Our stand alone unit actually housed 3 different groups - the 1-bedroom downstairs and 2 studio units upstairs. While this was no biggie, what didn't work so well was that there was only 1 parking space outside, with an additional space blocking the garage door. We were forced to park out in the cul-de-sac as a result of this.

Once again, our stay at Marsden Lake Resort was AMAZING. We are a local couple from Cromwell and absolutely love treating ourselves to a wee night away every now and then. This place is perfect, super close to home but yet seems like you're in a different country whilst sitting on your balcony over the water with all the beautiful mountains in the background. Staff are always exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the rooms are always immaculate and extremely comfortable. Busy saving my pennies as I would very happily live in one of these units. Highly recommend!!! We'll be back very soon!

I love the breakfast n dinner!!! I love all the lovely staff!!! I love the spa!!!! I love the view!!!! I love the shower!!! I love the TV with Netflix n many options!!! The TV can connect to my phone is so handy! I love the WiFi speed!!!
BBQ facilities seems to no clean for long time😅 N kitchen pots are not clean. Kettle got mold...I clean by myself. Air conditioner is a little bit weird... About the balcony cushions ,few are very wet! A lot of water on the cushion. The wash machine n drier is outside in a small room.I was shocked that I just used for less 1 hour ,then the fire alarm went off ,each building n all the customers left their own buildings to stay outside 😨
