Typical motel in that the units look out onto the parked cars. Cromwell surprised us with its really interesting heritage area, which is a short drive away. There is a wine cellar at the end of the road for tastings (walking distance!) and relatively easy access to shops by walking distance as well. The room was clean and well maintained, although the cooking equipment was a bit lacking - I did manage to make an omlet in a wok though. No grill, just the stove top and microwave. Check in was easy and everything was as needed. Some nice features included heated floor in the bathroom and an a/c unit in the living room.

The property is absolutely stunning. The units appear as though they have been freshly refurbished; the space is functional, clean, and aesthetically uniform throughout. Facilities are aplenty here with pots and pans for cooking, dinnerware, and tea/coffee provided - a nice touch was the option of having trim or regular milk when checking in. The staff are friendly and down to earth, they really left us to get on with our stay but had no qualms about stopping to chat and make recommendations on places to go/see, and how to get around. Cromwell is a beautiful little town that is well worth the stay! We’ll absolutely be bringing the kids back for a summer getaway!

There is quite literally nothing to dislike!

Excellent location to the Mall and numerous eateries. Off street parking, dog permitted on request. Units were clean and warm, with very good water pressure and hot water in the shower. Bikes can be stored in the owner’s garage. Rebecca the new owner is super friendly and accommodating.

Bed was too soft for my preference. It would be good to have a cook top in each unit. Bath towels are getting a bit thin and could do with replacing in the near future.

The location is great - right across the road from the mall which made it super easy to get a couple of fantastic meals both nights of our stay (Thai and Mexican). The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and it was super clean.

We had a room that had a connecting door to the room next door (obviously would be great for families!) but it just meant you could her the people next door quite easily - but certainly wasn't a major issue.

Close to everything that just the way we wanted easy to do things around great location distance from town and friendly staff specifically that when I forgot something things behind got informed about.

Milk to small a mouth when you stays a few days shouldn't have been asking for specially a coffee drinker or should have a bigger size milk for people staying 3 or more day and yes more coffee as well.

This is the second time we've now stayed at this motel and it is our go to. Really beautifully appointed facilities, comfortable, and warm. Fantastic shower pressure! Wonderful and friendly staff with attention to detail - we always feel well looked after!

The owner was so friendly, nothing was a problem, the location was so good. 5 minutes drive from the swimming spot at the lake and like 350m walk from New World .

There is nothing to complain about really. The owner was knowledgeable about what was on in the area and able to give advice and good chat.

The host was helpful and friendly. When she heard we were driving around the South Island, she gave us some tips on which sites to visit and even looked them up for us. The room was clean and I appreciated the variety of coffee choices.

Personally the bed was too soft for us.

We loved EVERYTHING about this motel. We were met by the owner who when she realised I was unable to walk far popped in her car and collected us from the bus stop. We arrived to a warm sunny unit without stairs!!! It was clean, extremely comfortable, well stocked with all the bells and whistles down to a heated bathroom floor. The shower was great with soap/shampoo attached in an applicator. It turned out we were just five minutes (and I'm extremely slow) from shops and cafes. A perfect location for a perfect motel. We have nothing but praise for our motel owner who put our needs way above hers and we wish her all the very best in the future.

Absolutely Nothing !!!!! Being encouraged to write more again I wish to reiterate this is a clean, warm and well stocked well located motel. After over a month away on a bucket list trip of the South Island we found The Asure Gold Motel the friendliest most helpful motel we have stayed at. Go to Cromwell the jewel of the South and stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent lighting for reading - living area and bedroom. Bathroom floor texture ideal for those with mobility issues. Distance from road meant no road noise.

Small surface area beside bathroom basin. Not much room to put things at waist height.
