My wife and I (and our dog) spent two nights at this beautiful property on our way to driving and hiking the Cabot Trail. The owners of the motel, Tina and Vince, met us when we arrived and graciously spent time with us providing us with much valuable information regarding places to visit and possible dining choices. They could not have been more helpful during our stay. The room was clean, tastefully decorated and quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room had all the normal amenities and certain extras not usually seen in chain motels, such as a toaster and tea pot. The wifi reception was excellent. The location of the motel sets it apart from other places to stay. The view from the room overlooking the water a few feet from the back of the motel was incredible. There was plenty of green space by the water which our pooch enjoyed. There are bbq grills available for use which we took advantage of. For the value, you can't do any better.

We only stayed one night but it was lovely! The view was amazing and very peaceful surroundings. Tina and her husband were very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Great location if you are on your way up the Cabot Trail ;o) The room was nice and spacious and comfy, clean and well maintained. Their is a restaurant near by and that was a bonus after a long trip on the Ferry! We unfortunately left something important behind...Tina was quick to reach out to us on our drive back home and offered to mail it to us! Very thankful for her kindness!

Highly highly recommend this place!!! I only have good things to say them. We arrived a bit late on our check-in day, the owners, Tina & Vince were super nice, they even called us just to make sure everything is ok. When we got there, they were super welcoming. They told us all the secret places to go for good pictures and share their favourite restaurants. Our room was super comfy, the shower room is a bit old but it was clean and we have everything we needed. We woke up to the amazing lake view enjoying the complimentary coffee & tea in the room by the window. They even provide a nice microwave and fridge in case you need it. I feel sorry for Tina & Vince that Booking.com made a mistake with our payment they were very patient to explain to us what happened, and instead of making us pay the balance on the spot, they suggested that we reach out to booking.com first and figure out what was going on there. I really appreciate that Tina & Vince decided to waive that extra charges for us because booking.com was unable to give us an answer before we left. Will definitely visit again next time we visit Cape Breton!

Pleasantly suprised - was expecting a budget strip hotel and instead had extremely high level of personal service from all staff, high quality inclusions in the room and a view for morning sunrise (or evening sunset) over the water that was exception. Yes, this may appear to be a standard hotel room, but the managers have gone all out to add nice touches (types of products provided for bathrooms and kitchen) that raise the standard quite a lot

Nothing. Late check- in was accommodated, area advice was exceptional, extremely clean and tidy and comfortable room.

The room had a fantastic view to the lake. The hosts were very kind and nice and explained very well what was going on, and gave some good recommendations for dining options in the Baddeck town, which was 15 minutes away. The motel was old, however it was very well maintained and comfortable and didn't feel dated. The hosts were able to work with the situation when there was a power outage in the entire region, but let me check in anyway after verifying on their phone. The room had a lot of things including coffeemaker, wine screw opener, etc.

No complaints. The lampshades could be replaced but it's a minor detail. I enjoyed my stay here.

the view was astonishing and i drive past this place all the time it is overlooked, the beach was very nice. Awesome stay Vince was amazing!

Absolutely gorgeous view and a small little group of people so felt very quiet and peaceful.

This is an old motel that was recently renovated - new carpets, bathroom fixtures, new huge windows providing amazing view of the bay. You can just sit there and watch the waves for the whole day, really. The rooms are better equipped than I expected - in addition to the coffee maker and a microwave there are a kettle and a toaster. The beds are quite comfortable, the wifi is strong. The owner is extremely welcoming and happy to provide advice on hiking trails, restaurants, or anything you ask.

It was just perfect. No complaints whatsoever.

A little gem of a place

Absolutely stunning view of St. Ann’s bay! Property is located directly on the water. Amazing sunset. For that reason, highest score! Also Vince and co-owner were very friendly, helpful, and responsive to requests. Vince is very knowledgeable about the area and shared some recommendations about where to visit in Cape Breton.

This gorgeous location is worthy of more updated rooms and furniture. Doesn’t need to be fancy but could use some newer fixtures and outdoor chairs to spruce it up a tad.
