I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews, because we had a really good stay. The room was very clean a good size, had a fridge and microwave, all the basics. I found the staff very friendly. The info book was well detailed (I saw one negative review that said they didn't have a hair dryer but the book says its location). The hotel itself had great walkability and next to a convince store. Another major thing for me is that it was very quiet. I didn't hear doors slamming or people running through the halls- these are things that usually keep me awake in hotels.

The bed waa a little hard for my body, but hotel mattresses and I typically don't get along. I also didn't find there was enough places to put stuff, like in the bathroom there was a shelf but it was taken up with towels and travel shampoo and I had no place to put my toiletries.

Staying at this Inn took you back in time with its older time decor. It was a nice change staying at such a place instead of the usual hotel decor. The staff was very friendly and helped me out with any questions I had. The restaurant at the hotel was good and very convenient after a long day of travel. Parking is on site. Location is close to the water , restaurants, cafes, shopping stores and the Alexandar Graham Bell museum.

Although the tap water was safe to drink; it looked a bit cloudy to me. So I just purchased water from the convenience store close by.

Good location. Easy walk to shops and restaurants in town. Good restaurant with friendly staff - music was quiet enough to speak easily during dinner. Balcony in our room was private and quiet. Check in and check out were easy.

Reception was kind of subdued when checking in and out. The person was polite but didn’t really say too much during our interactions. It wasn’t rude or anything, but usually you expect a friendly hello or chat from people in a small inn like this.

One of the most charming places i stayed in. It was like i had walked into a friend's house - tastefully decorated all the way. It was right in the centre of the town. The ladies at the reception told us what all we could do in the town and hpw best to use our two days. The visitor centre is right across the road and many eateries walking distance away. I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend

The spa bath was cool. It was convinient to have an ice machine available. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The air conditioner was noisy. We mentioned this to staff and were offered another room. An engineer also looked at the air conditioning unit in the room we vacated. The second room was better but still far noisier than we have experienced in other places. It would have been helpful for there to be a lift to take large bags up and down the stairs.

Excellent location ! Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs right across road a must! Close to Cabot trail and only an hour to fortress louisbourg . Their restaurant is fantastic food is great . We had breakfast and evening lobster dinner . Takes a bit so give yourself time but food is very fresh . Live music on some evenings. Bell museum just down the road.

We were on top floor a lot of steps to drag luggage .laundry only open 5-10 . No phone in room to contact front desk

I liked the location, that it was clean.

Misadvertizing. The website failed to indicate that the restaurant was closed for the season. We were on a motorcycle trip and we chose this hotel specifically to access the restaurant for supper and breakfast without having to travel further. Also both beds' mattress were extremely hard. I've stayed in 1000's of hotel during my travels and never slept on a bed so hard. Obviously neither of us slept well. DISAPPOINTED

We really enjoyed our stay, especially thanks to the hotel’s charming heritage building and its excellent location. The on-site restaurant was a nice bonus and added to the overall convenience and character of the experience.

The old and loud air conditioning unit that made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The bed also showed its age, squeaking with every movement.

Beautiful classic suites, felt luxurious, close to restaurants (walking distance, the town is quite small), friendly and helpful staff. Nice balcony. I had left my purse at a restaurant in town the night before and on the day of our checkout the hotel called the restaurant for me (before they opened) to see if it had been left there and to put it aside for me.

The meals (we had breakfast and dinner) were outstanding.
