It looks like a classic old highway motel, you don't expect much but we were pleasantly surprised. We were down South for 8 nights and this was one of cheapest accommodations and one of our favourites. There were enough comfortable beds for all of us. We could park right outside our room which was a positive, we'd been places where we had quite a hike to our room. The ceiling was cool and the room had almost everything we needed.

There wasn't really any way to cool down the room, at least not that we could find and it was reeeaally hot. We were on the bottom floor so you could hear people walking around above us but it didn't really bother us too much. There was only a charger on one side of the double bed which was a shame for use but I just used a multi box we brought with us to run under the bed. Only other bad thing I can think of is that I got attacked by the cat quite viciously. Not really the cats fault as I was patting it nicely in the dark but due to not being able to see well, I accidentally patted it's stomach which cats usually hate so it attacked me. So just be careful.

Given the very reasonable price, you wouldn’t expect the Four Seasons. However, we found the place to be perfectly fine, a classic kiwi motel. My wife prepared a lovely salmon dinner using the facilities here. Nothing of importance is missing (they provided SCISSORS, which few kiwi motels do!). They provide a small two-burner portable electric “stovetop”, and also a barbecue if needed. The WiFi was fast, the bathroom clean and functional. The TV had 50+ Sky channels, if that’s your thing. Location is a bit outside of town, which is fine, Greymouth isn’t that big, so location isn’t really an issue. No complaints. Everything worked.

Other than the general "datedness" of the place, not much, it was fine.

We had initially booked for one night but were delayed and only arrived at 9 a.m., just an hour before the 10 a.m. checkout time. The owner/manager was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to stay until 12 p.m. and even offering a discount of 10–20%. We truly appreciated their flexibility and helpfulness!

As nice as it is to have Sky tv, I wish there was also the option of a streaming service. Unfortunately my child free sleep in came to an end when other guests were fighting outside my room at 5.45am but that isn't on the motel! Perhaps double glazed windows would have reduced the noise?

Great location, excellent kids playground that was right in front of our unit. Warm and clean with plenty of bedding and towels.

The only down side was that repairs that were done to the walls in the rooms were basic and not very tidy. However, it didn’t impact the function of the room - purely cosmetic.

Everything was great. The staff was very helpful and provided clean towels and cleaned the room everyday. There was a laundry room and a drier and the staff helped us. There is a playground area for the kids and sky tv for the late nights. Most international plug adapters are available from the office. A short walking distance to the beach and you can hear the ocean at night. Will most definitely refer family and friends to stay there when they come visit.

Everything was great,

Good sized unit, with good kitchen facilities although Table was small for the number of guests it could accommodate.Could do with a spruce up, but good value for money and really only used a base. Was quieter than I expected when I first saw the location.

Shower water pressure was lower than I liked!

Suitable for a quick night stay with very affordable value. Comfortable and very helpful staff. Kitchen amenities are complete although looking a bit old (classy vibes). There are also paid laundry and dryer services available. Near to the town and beach.

can hear upstairs unit footstep somtimes due to the property structure but nothing too serious.

It was perfect for what we needed, a place to say on a mini-family getaway! They were able to provide a portacot for our 1 year old, which saved us bootspace in the car. The location was central and easy to find. The beds were comfortable.

The living area was a tight space for so many of us, but we managed.
