One of the most wonderful places we stayed was Hotel Rector in Salamanca. Absolute best hospitality! We had the luxurious suite with the largest bed I’ve ever seen, marble bathroom w/double sinks and separate bath and shower, and living room. Before we could get out of the car, Ignacio was there to swoop us inside, and put the car in their garage. In our room, there was a nice bottle of chilled cava in a champagne bucket and snacks waiting for us. Each day, the staff gave us gifts and edible treats. The gave a lovely parting gift, snacks, and water when we checked out. The breakfast service was old world wonderful. The only con was they didn’t have a restaurant. But, I recall reading that they could prepare small things for you to eat in your room or in the breakfast room. We should have done that because we found it difficult to find good fits for dinner in Salamanca. We hadn’t yet adjusted to the late Spanish dining time. Salamanca a stunning city and very easy to access from the hotel.

An exceptional hotel in simple everything! The best staff, extremely attentive to detail and polite and friendly. When we arrived, we were greeted by the hotel supervisor (I wish I knew her name). She showed us around and was super informative and professional. Thank you, awesome Nacho and Andrea for all the advice and help, you made our stay super joyful! The rooms are beyond comfortable. The linen, towels, bedding and pillows are class. Everything in the hotel is very royal and impeccably clean. The staff at breakfast are absolutely amazing. We always came back to the room to find pleasant surprises! I can't recommend this hotel enough. Best treat in Salamanca! Best in the whole of Spain. Would love to come back.

We wish we could have stayed longer!

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The service was outstanding—upon arrival, I was greeted with champagne and sweet treats, and at checkout, they even offered bottled water and snacks. The room was incredibly comfortable, with a clean and cozy bed. The staff went above and beyond, from drawing the curtains in the evening to offering a lovely fragrance for the room. The hotel itself is elegantly decorated with great taste. The overnight parking was clean and convenient. Its location is ideal; since Salamanca is compact, all major attractions were within easy walking distance. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the city!

We liked everything about HOTEL RECTOR. From the moment we arrived our bags were whisked away to our room and our car was parked. A swift, painless check-in, a welcome drink and then were shown to our immaculately clean and comfortable room. We chose to stay in Salamanca for 5 days which was part of a road trip around Northern Spain…and ended up wishing we could have stayed longer. Furthermore anyone thinking of spending any time in Salamanca, MUST, MUST, if budget allows stay at Hotel Rector. I will personally guarantee they will not be disappointed. This small hotel is what every other hotel should aspire to be.

Breakfast was excellent and staff very accommodating. We stayed in family room which had 2 bedrooms and each with en suite bath. Beds were comfortable and the amenities were outstanding - we especially enjoyed the nightly snacks, often homemade which were delicious.

Not much - it was all pretty fantastic there. It would be hard to find anything wrong as the staff and hotel were excellent - we travel extensively and this was one of the best hotels we have enjoyed in our travels.

It is not often that I write such a glowing review, but this hotel so far exceeded our expectations that I think they totally deserve it: the property itself is beautiful, in an old building just outside the city walls and very close to all the sights, the bedrooms are quite spacious and very well-appointed, with big bathrooms and plenty of excellent options, and the breakfast is delicious! The hotel also boasts its own garage, with valet parking, and a small gym, although most people will certainly prefer to explore the beautiful city centre of this lovely city. The main attraction of Hotel Rector, though, is its staff, who were extremely professional, friendly and corteous: they got in touch right before we arrived to check if there were any special needs and tended to all our requests with the nicest of smiles!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at hotel rector and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! We had a long day before we arrived at Salamanca. We arrived at the hotel around 11:40 pm. Before we arrived, the front desk had contacted us for the arrangement of the late check-in. From the moment we walked in, the staff at the front desk made us feel welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were offered a complimentary drink and snacks while we waited. Our rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, with a perfect blend of comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were fresh. I also appreciated the attention to detail, like the luxurious toiletries and the cozy robe provided. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We've traveled a lot and stayed in lots of nice places, but this is definitely the nicest hotel where we've ever stayed. The service is exceptional and is what puts it top on our list. These days, you don't often get the type of attention to detail like Hotel Rector provides. As guests, we felt special and pampered. Every day there were little gifts and notes left in our room, and every night there were more gifts and treats. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Even our daughters (teen/young adult) were blown away by the service at this hotel. We would love to return to Salamanca just to get to stay at Hotel Rector again one day.

Everything. Attention to detail is exceptional. Personal touches are fabulous, From the complimentary champagne and nibbles in the beautiful room, to the gorgeous Bvlgari products in the fabulous bathroom and the lovely hand written 'sweet dreams' note at turn down with Bvlgari perfume and cologne miniatures. The foot masks after a long day exploring the lovely city of Salamanca were most welcome and another thoughtful personal touch. Breakfast was sublime - best I've ever had in hotel anywhere. On check out we were handed goodie bags wishing us a sate onward journey with bottles of water, cereal bars, chocolates and mints. Each member of staff takes exceptional service levels personally and it shows! The most fabulous hotel.
