Loved the location, right in the centre of the historic town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a great size, the bathroom was huge. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Loved the decor. The breakfast area was superb. The breakfast was adequate but not a lot of variety unfortunately but still nice. Parking for the car was close enough to the hotel and we were able to unload luggage outside before moving it. I would highly recommend this accommodation and if I'm lucky enough to visit again I would stay here.
Perhaps a jug in the room to make a cuppa in the morning would have been nice but everything else was covered.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right near the town square with everything worth seeing in walking distance. It is a beautiful old building with lots of character and the public areas have lovely calming low lighting. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and included a beautiful view down onto half timbered houses at the front and from the back balcony there was a fantastic view over more of the town and over the Tauber valley. A real treat to stay here. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast is a varied buffet of high quality products and the staff make the drinks and eggs to order. A peaceful, relaxing atmosphere pervades the whole establishment.
The only reason I did not give 10/10 is because there is no way of making drinks in the room. We had spent a lot of money on this accommodation for a special occasion and we had such comfortable accommodation that it would have been nice to have made our own tea and coffee and sat on the balcony with it. Having said that, the man on reception each afternoon and evening was happy to make drinks for us, which was great. He was very kind but it was a nuisance getting the drinks from the ground floor to the top floor, using a lift and then steep stairs. Surely a kettle and 2 mugs isn't too much to ask?

We stayed on the 4th floor in the suite, which is the top floor. You have the entire floor to yourself. As stated on the website, the elevator only goes to the third floor. Then you take stairs to the 4th floor and the staircase is spiral. It was really awesome as it is a very unique experience. Once you reach your landing, there is an area with a table, chairs with a pretty view that is just yours as part of the suite. On the opposite side is your room. When you open your door and see the slanted ceiling, original wood floors with windows overlooking part of the village, it just takes your breath away. The bathroom has a nice soaking tub which was great after walking around the village. The bed was comfortable and the suite is nicely decorated with a romantic feel. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had and it started as soon as I walked in the hotel. The gentleman at the front desk, named Tobias, greeted us with a friendly smile and a wonderful happy personality. He makes you smile every time you walk past the desk since he is so happy. He was very attentive and goes out of his way to make sure you are having a good experience. He helped make staying here so wonderful. I whole-heartedly recommend staying at this hotel to make your visit to Rothenburg like a fairy time experience.

The location is absolutely excellent. The hotel has a lovely rather quirky historic authenticity. The breakfast room is particularly nice as was the breakfast. We had the top floor suite with its own small terrace overlooking the verdant Tauber valley: a great place to sip the excellent local fizz. Our room was large and, being in the apex of the roof, wonderfully unusual.
The only problem was that the lift only goes as far as the third floor, then a slightly tight dog-legged staircase takes you up to the suite which basically occupies the whole of the top floor. Getting cases up the stairs was a bit tricky.

It is amazing to stay in a Hotel that was built in 1278 that still preserves so much of its original architecture. Of course most of the rooms were renovated but with attention on the "old style" of the building. I liked very much the bathroom, with a shower and a tub (although I never use it since I am so concerned about the waste of water, he he). We stayed in one of the largest rooms. Decoration is unique. Breakfast is very good and the price is honest. Staff is very courteous and helpful.
Nothing that I can think of

You need to know that Tobias was absolutely amazing as our host. He really took care of all our needs. The breakfast was fabulous. The room was just a little on the small size but the beds were super comfortable and the elevator was really appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel for any number of nights stay.
The rooms were just a little small. The parking is just a little difficult but we handled it just fine and it was not too expensive.

Loved everything. The breakfast was wonderful, the staff are exceptional - professional, friendly and so helpful, the room was absolutely stunning, with an outstanding outlook over beautiful street scenes, the bed was so comfortable, the room big, the bathroom was immaculately clean, and there was just so much to love. I would come back to this hotel in a second. The location was fantastic, but it was the hotel and it's staff that were so good. If you are looking for character, charm, and downright gobsmackingly amazing rooms,....(in that this building is around 700 years old, and you are staying in medieval rooms) then this is for you. I could not fault it. I've never been so impressed, not even with super modern 5* hotels. Thankyou so much. (I* only wish I could have stayed longer, and if I ever come back to Rothenburg, I will not need to research accomodation.)
nothing.

awesome location in the centre of the Rothenburg Alstadt built around 1430 and the rooms were well appointed and we had a glass floor with a selection of local antiquities to view, large timber beams, HUGE bath for 2 and the original old small door ways and charm of the entire building was awesome. would 100% go back and stay. staff were extremly engaging english speaking and assisting with restaurants and activities and parking. well worth the stay.

Historical building close to large park for walking our dog. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is perfect...not in the center so quiet, but just a few minutes walk to town Square. Bathroom was modern with large tub. Breakfast was wonderful!
The room was very small. No air conditioning and windows opened to the wall from a building next to us so not much air flow.

Atmospheric room in 650 year old building. Comfortable bed, quiet, slept well. Great location one block from central plaza. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast for a small hotel.
Small room, OK for one night, limited space for luggage. Tub/shower large, but lacked enclosure for shower (no curtain or door). Book larger room if possible with shower and sitting area.
