The room was clean and large, great for my family, was spacious, kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery, pots, pans, large tub with clean white towels with body wash and hand soap, smart tv, heatpump and aircon all in working Order with a little outside table and chairs private

Wifi was weak but free so still good, the aircon didn’t reach the top so up stairs was very warm so suitable for those that like sleeping in the warmth during summer aka me, my husband didn’t enjoy it but found a fan but never used as it was dusty so they need cleaning.

Enjoyed my stay here for a few nights while in Hastings for the Wonder Christmas Market. The room met my expectations and made for a comfortable stay. I picked this room with the added bonus of having a kitchenette and spa bath tub - made for a relaxing stay! The room was larger than I expected, and nice having a comfy couch to relax on too. Plenty of space and large parking lot which was an added bonus with driving a larger vehicle. The lodge is close to the outskirts of Hastings which made for easy access with by passing around the city and coming in near the showgrounds, was able to avoid the busy traffic around 5pm on the day I arrived. I was happy to walk 15-20 mins towards some shops and grocery store after a big drive into Hastings, but it wouldn't have been difficult to drive either. I would definitely stay here again the next time I attend a Wonder Market.

Air conditioning! We got into Hastings in 29deg, and needed a break to cool down. Found the room very hot for a start as the power breaker was tripped, but once we reset that we were in AC bliss! The room was very spacious, the bed comfortable & bathroom well appointed. For people staying a few nights this would be a great place - they have lots of room, bbq/picnic area & an outdoor pool.

Nothing serious There was an extra bin outside for the units, which was crawling with ants. Ant Sand would sort that out. We were watching Netflix that night & quite suddenly it stopped - we wondered if the motels wifi had been switched off.

I liked the shower as I have a disability

The sofa was too low and too soft as when you have a disability you need to be able to get off the sofa easily. The sofa needs to be firmer. Unit 25 is supposed to be for disabled. I didn't like the fact the staff didn't do dishes - I hope they do them between stays as people could just rinse and put back in cupboard. Didn't re stock coffees on last day.

From the moment that we arrived and met with a smiling owner we were so pleased with our choice of Motel. Great location. Awesome room with plenty of space. Lighting excellent. Larger than normal TV with many channels plus Sky sports. Bathroom / Toilet / spa bath very clean. ( Did not get time to use the spa bath). Car parking with plenty of space.

Nothing to dislike about Valdez Motel.

The hosts were very nice. The rooms were functional. The kids loved the swimming pool. Towels were changed each day and our sheets were changed after the 3rd night.

The stairs were a bit creeky, and our carpet was threadbare in some places. But when we inspected the property a month prior we were shown a recently refurbished room, so they must be slowly updating their rooms.

Great motel for our 5 day Family holiday in Hastings. Our room had an outdoor area and 2 levels (Queen bed and single upstairs and 2 singles downstairs), simple kitchette and adequate bathroom with spa bath. Location was good with quick access to local shops and splash planet and overall good central location to explore Hawkes Bay

The location was good. On a main road. No noise from the road transport. Office next to road ,but accommodation is well backapprox 60 METRES plus The Room Very Big, 8 METRES by 5 METRES.approx.So heater had to work very hard to warm the room ( it is winter here ). Good shops approx 150 METRES. Good Fish and Chips.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming room was clean and had kitchen utensils were available, so could cook our own breakfast, and allowed us extra time to move out as I had teenagers who stay up late, so much appreciated, would come again to stay.

The shower curtain needs replacing, was tatty and had rips in it
