I shared a Queen Deluxe room with two queen beds with a friend. The room had an outstanding view (on the 28th floor), was spacious, and had a fantastic bathroom. It had a small refrigerator with a couple of complimentary waters. The bathroom was equipped with plenty of towels and toiletries. We ate at the ramen place and had breakfast at the Fireside Grill. Super happy with the food and both were affordable. The location was great to check out Central City as well for hiking and sight seeing.

The sheets on both beds were clean, but one bed had a sheet with a stain on it — possibly a coffee stain. At least I hope that is what it was. We didn't ask for them to change the sheets because we didn't notice it until we turned down the bed around 11 pm. Again, the sheet appeared to have been washed, but the stain was still visible, albeit faint. There are not many choices if you want to visit a convenience store to buy a few supplies, such as bottled water, so it's best to bring them with you.

The hotel was nice but at $200 a night was too expensive. It was my 60th birthday and my 5 years cancer free. We wanted to celebrate for the full weekend but with the prices of the hotels we could only be there one night. And the restaurant Timberline was so crazy expensive and $100 per person it made our stay less enjoyable. With money you make at the casinos you would think that your hotel and restaurants wouldn't be as expensive. I lived in Reno and their hotels and restaurants were extremely reasonably priced even their better hotels weren't as much as Ameristar was. Very disappointing. You put a damper on my 60th birthday and my fifth cancer free anniversary.

Love the location. Easy to walk around. Didn't realize a free casino shuttle service was available until the last night of our stay. Be sure to ask about it at checking if interested. Big room, comfy bed. Great view. Elevator was super fast up to 23rd floor. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed a great dinner at Fireside Kitchen on premise.

Bed was comfy, but the rooms looked a little dated and had worn furniture. The parking garage was confusing to exit. We were on level 4 and exit to street is up on level 5! Seemed odd, and not well marked.

The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable sleep experience. The view in all five rooms we booked was perfect. Both city and mountain. A lot of dining options including a Starbucks. Prices were very close to city stores. The pool hot tubs and fire pits are rooftop and absolutely incredible. The kids had so much fun. There’s a great candy store in walking distance for the kids. Most restaurants even in the casinos accept children to eat. We got a great rate 81.00 with fees. We stayed Monday to Thursday and got two rooms for the price of one elsewhere.

The last night our neighboring room had a big leak that maintenance had to come in at 1:30am. Lots of noise and industrial fans to dry the area were somewhat loud. However I called and we were able to get a late check out and resort fees returned for the trouble. More than fair.

It was easy, secured and free parking. Check in was a breeze. Staff throughout the hotel and casino were friendly and helpful. We reserved 2 double Queen rooms, adjoining and did receive exactly what I reserved. We ate a late dinner in JINYA Ramen Bar. We ate breakfast at The Fireside. Both were excellent.

This is our 3rd or 4th stay at Ameristar and we did not dislike anything. It is always excellent.

Beautiful property pool was awesome and hot tubs were just what I needed to relax. Decent number of table games, and the ramen restaurant was excellent.

The upstairs restaurant was a little pricey for what you got and staff wasn’t the best of the trip. Table games had higher minimums than other properties in town. Saturday night there wasn’t a single table with less than $25 minimum for blackjack. Even on a Sunday morning the limits were $15 for blackjack which is still higher than others. Table minimums were comparable to Las Vegas strip but at least they were all 3:2 blackjack.

Property was pretty clean. It was quiet and easy to rest. Free parking was nice and the rooftop pool was fabulous! Got a hug from a kind lady cleaning a ladies bathroom in the casino. I asked to hug her. Her name is Milagro. There was a younger gentleman who checked us in and he was very nice and professional! The staff at Jinya, Kumar especially, were attentive and friendly!

The entrance from parking lot was grimy. Spa prices are too high for most.

Have lived in the Denver metro area for nearly 30 years. This was the first overnight stay in the Blackhawk/ Central City area. We are very well seasoned travelers - both domestic and international although not experienced this neat and vibrant area for anything other than a dinner with some gambling. We thoroughly enjoyed the Ameristar and found the staff to be professional, courteous and friendly.

Likely due to scheduled maintenance, only 3 of the 5 elevators were operational. This resulted in fairly lengthy wait times getting upstairs to our room or waiting to get to the Lobby/Casino level.

We had a power outage at our home in Georgetown, Co. We decided to look for a hotel close by. We have never stayed in Black Hawke, but decided to try a night. We brought board games from home. We ended up swimming for an hour, we all had great showers and my oldest had a relaxing bath, we played board games for an hour. Got to go at the Ramen restaurant, brought it to the room, and ate, and we brushed our teethies and watched Modern Family on the cable tv. It was one of the best nights sleep we’d all needed in a while. It was a wonderful mini staycation. So much needed. Even the front desk staff when we checked in was excellent, as was the valet.

We loved it. Pool is very brisk 🥶

We received good customer service at Ameristar/Blackhawk, Co. My husband is in the hotel business so we can appreciate and understand how important the hospitality service really is.

However, the room we were in smelled like smoke from the moment we entered. I did call to the front desk to bring it to their attention, and was kindly offered to return to the front desk to be moved to another suite. We declined the offer since my husband absolutely LOVED the view. Otherwise, I would've given our stay a 10.
