We had a lovely time. Fiona and all the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We could open the windows in our room !!!! ( Not always possible in hotel accommodation!) So the room was comfortable and a pleasant temperature and we slept very well. We had breakfast, a lunch and a dinner during our stay - all the food was delicious. This hotel is not ostentatious but it has quality ! Middleham is a lovely place - full of historic buildings including the castle of course. It is bustling and bristling with racing activity. It's lovely to see all the horses go out in the mornings. Every driveway and jitty leads to a stable yard ! If I stayed again I think I would book to visit a yard as I don't know much about racing and would like to find out more about the industry. There are lovely walks to be had through the dales countryside from Middleham

We arrived early and were welcomed. The weather was awful - Middleham had had a good downfall of snow overnight, albeit a little early. We enjoyed a drink in the bar area whilst our room was ready. Our room was spotlessly clean, with an excellent view of Middleham Castle. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar where we met Fiona - the proprietor. What a lovely lady. Our meal was excellent - could not be faulted. After a restful night's sleep, we were delighted to see that the snow has disappeared. Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. It certainly set us up for the rest of today - Sunday 24th. Very nice to see the race horses being exercised. Fiona explained that Middleham is the Newmarket of the North - many riding stables in the area. Another visit is a MUST. Next time we will take our dog with us to meet Fiona!!

The bed mattress was somewhat hard for us - personal preference and no reflection on The Wensleydale Hotel.

The location is brilliant - right in the center of the town. We had a lovely, dog friendly room with a view over the square. The breakfast was great - we preordered the night before so there's no waiting and no waste. Everything well presented. We had a lovely chat with the manager in the bar in the evening - he's very friendly and enthusiastic.

We really wanted to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately it was closed that evening. However, we visited all the pubs in the town (there are 3) and ate in one of them, so we still had a lovely evening.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - we needed taxi recommendations and they were able to provide several options for us. We also appreciated that they asked for the breakfast order ahead of time, saving time and food waste. The location was perfect for us.

We should have asked about the stairs - we had a couple of older people with us and it would have been better if they had not had to climb multiple floors.

The location of the hotel was great, not too far away from lots of lovely walks and attractions. Rooms were really clean and the bed was very comfortable. The toiletries provided by the hotel were lovely.

Nothing I didn't like. Used to sleeping in a king size bed so the double felt a bit on the small side, but was still comfortable and a good night's sleep.

The staff. The owners were the most friendly, kind, understanding and accommodating hosts. They waited for us to finally arrive at 2 am (flight delay) although their check in clearly says you have to arrive earlier. Made us feel welcomed and calmed our stress even in the middle of the night.

We had a lovely stay. We were upgraded to Room 21 at no extra cost. A fantastic room with a four poster bed, amazing view and spacious bathroom. Staff were very friendly and attended to all our needs. Breakfast was wonderful. Excellent location in the Square and parking in front of the hotel. Middleham is a relaxing place with friendly people and plenty of walks on the doorstep. We would love to go back again.

The breakfast was spot on! Choose the previous night and arrives at your table as soon as you sit down. The hotel is ideally set in the centre of town, with lots of parking. A nice forecourt area to relax in and watch the world go by on a nice day. Food was exceptional especially theBeef Wellington, and the Cod loin not far behind.

Nice character property, with lots of original features. The Tack Room was a great dining area.

I don’t think there is any private parking, there is a car parking area on the Main Street, very quiet and no issues with availability or damage.
