It was welcoming, thoughtful and very tasteful accommodation. Our host was very gracious - even as a busy mum. The weather was cool but we were given a powerful, additional radiator without asking. There were ample tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the breakfast was first class. We arrived unexpectedly early but were still made very welcome. And as a bonus, it was wonderful to sleep in a room with an 18th century wall built from 2,000 year old stones re-homed from Hadrian's Wall. You'll not find that in a normal B&B!

There is nothing to dislike. As someone else notably said, "I'll be back..."

We felt so at home here. The family room was so spacious for our family of 4. Loved having a lounge area right outside the room where we could sit while the kids were in bed. Also the grounds are lovely to sit and enjoy and my son loved playing football in the garden. Breakfast was lovely. Host was very friendly, relaxed and welcoming.

Perhaps offering some pastries (croissants) for breakfast aswell as cooked as I'm not a fan of cooked breakfast but this is not a complaint just a suggestion.

Katie messaged us on the day and stayed in contact. Made a great breakfast with lots of choice. The room was a good size for a family. Stunning location. Beautiful farmhouse. Great place to stay in Cumbria. We were able to arrange a later check in. Everything was clean and fresh. Grounds were well presented and we would stay again. Very good value. We will definitely be back at Fiddleback Farm. Comfortable beds in a quiet location. Suitable for couples or families.

Accommodation was lovely. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We were late checking in but the host kept in contact and was fine about it. She was very bubbly and friendly with lots of knowledge about the local area. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Value for money was great.

The only fault I saw was breakfast normally finished at 8.30am which is a little early if on holiday. Although the other guests had agreed a 9am breakfast that we also took advantage of and the host was fine.

Katie the host was very attentive and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. She was very welcoming and explained everything clearly. The whole place was immaculately clean and comfortable and with 2 small children to look after it is obvious that Katie works hard to maintain a high standard.

Although the farm is limited a rural spot, located between a busy main road and a railway line is not ideal if you want peace and quiet. Having said that it was much less noisy than anticipated. Breakfast was good; perhaps the odd berry or granola would enhance it. The bathroom could benefit from the odd hook for clothes/dressing gown/towel while washing and maybe a table in the bedroom would be useful. These are small observations but did not impact negatively on our stay.

Friendly hostess and good sausages for breakfast. The room had character and the location was quiet. When we told the hostess that the room felt cold, she immediately provided us with an electrical heater - but actually, after the central heating went on, the room was warm enough for the night.

No blackout blinds in the summer. Shower difficult to regulate, with water becoming either too cold or scalding. Sausages aside, the rest of the breakfast could be better. Difficult turn into the access road from the A-road when there is intense traffic. The bed was too soft and too bouncy.

Katie was extremely helpful, and kept in contact on the day for checkin time She makes you feel like family, and is a very warm host, and with her family being about makes it very homely The breakfast was excellent 5*, We stayed as a half way stop from highlands of Scotland to Heathrow, and will certainly stay again in the future

I could not find fault (we don't purposely look for faults, as we are positive people, but nothing stood out)

Beautiful historic building which has been renovated and modernised to an extremely high standard. The attention to detail in the furnishings was simple, but stylish. A clever layout of the beds allowed both myself and adult son to both have full size double beds. The breakfast options were really good and a generous size (best cumbrian sausages!) Katie was a friendly host, and they are very dog welcoming. We hope to be back, whether as a stop off on route to Scotland or to explore the northern lakes/mountains.

We only had one night!

Good choices for breakfast, well presented and well cooked. A beautiful farm setting with family atmosphere. Katie went the extra mile and accommodated my grandson at the last minute. Would definitely recommend.

I can't think of anything, except the signage to the farm from the main road. it is difficult to see the sign traveling from Dalston, I passed it a few times as it's a busy road, but easily seen from the other direction.

I booked last minute due to bad weather forecast . The whole experience was wonderful and Katy and her beautiful children made me so welcome. I was 3 mins from a course I booked close by at the SOUL SPACE. The property was hundreds of years old and built in the design of a folly and violin shaped …hence Fiddleback. Close to west Cumbria and also Carlisle and Scottish Borders. I had a very cosy special stay with a magnificent breakfast.
