We stayed in a dog friendly family room on the ground floor which was perfect for our purposes. The room was specious with a double and single bed plus couch and two chairs. Plentiful tea/coffee milk and bottled water available in the room. We used the leisure facilities on both days as open until 8pm, our grandchildren really enjoyed it. The pool was a good size and offered a jacuzzi , sauna and steam room. There was ongoing work in the leisure centre but didn’t stop us having a great time. We had dinner in the restaurant there was a good choice on the menu and all came served hot. Good choices for breakfast with cereals, juices and fruit being self serve. The helpful reception staff allowed us a slightly later check out time which allowed us to use the pool again following breakfast without having to rush.

The room had recently been renovated, lovely decorated, clean and had everything we needed. Nice to have two fluffy pillows already on the beds without having to ask for extra. Bottles of milk provided in the rooms was perfect sizes, save us having to ask for more of the little cups you used to get. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are lovely, one of the reasons we chose to stay here. Booked table for Breakfast and Evening Meal with no hassle, Breakfast had plenty to choose from, Evening Meal not so much. plenty parking front and back.

The room was right above the public bar toilet, Room 21, we could hear the hand dryer going at night and in the morning. Maybe this should be turned off at certain times. The room also overlooked staff break area which was very noisy if they were outside, noise went on sometimes at midnight. This happend our first night and we struggled with getting to sleep because of it. 2nd night was fine, we had to shout at one worker on the phone and the noise stopped. ,

The room was huge which we were not expecting, perfect for a family of four. The view outside to the garden was gorgeous and you could see the hills in the background. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and there were plenty of teas, coffees and bathroom extras available. All staff that we spoke to were extremely nice and welcoming. The children were particularly happy to have a pool in the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, full Cumbrian breakfast - not greasy so didn't feel overfull after eating. Couldn't fault this hotel at all despite it being under renovation.

Our stay here was nothing short of brilliant. What truly sets this hotel apart is its team. Every single staff member we encountered, from the housekeeping to the restaurant staff, was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make our trip special. The facilities were excellent, and our room was quiet and peaceful. My stay at this hotel was truly fantastic, thanks to its outstanding amenities. Swimming pool, gym, tennis anf golf - all these superb facilities made my visit unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel for a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation. A five-star experience from start to finish

There was some renovation work going on during our stay but the Hotel functioned well. The staff were very helpful to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The bar was pleasant and we were able to use the leisure facilities. There is plenty of space to relax and you can find books in alcoves everywhere. Just a short walk of around 10 mins down to Bassenthwaite Lake and about 15 mins drive or Bus ride into Keswick.

Could do with better signs to help you find where things were but this might be part of the renovations.

We only spent one night and would have wanted to explore the facilities more- the facility is comfortable and set in a very beautiful part of the countryside. They have a heated pool and ample of parking, they also have a good venue with drinks and food for dinner- which meant we didn't need to go and search for a place to eat (a lot of restaurants are a few miles away and closes early). We enjoyed our stay and where happy that our family of 5 could get 1 room together.

Rooms are slightly outdated but functional and comfortable. The TV in the room is outdated and didn't support streaming services.Normally this won't bother us but with the kids it does make a difference being able to stream Netflix or something when they get border or for that moment that you need to go and shower or pack.

A very nice hotel with a stunning garden view and a spacious room. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with excellent hot water in the shower. The toiletries were a special touch—much appreciated. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Breakfast, however, was quite basic with limited options. There weren’t many personal choices like boiled eggs, which we prefer, as we don’t eat poached or sunny-side-up eggs. While the staff kindly provided boiled eggs upon request, we wish it had been on the menu to avoid making them go out of their way. That said, the reception ladies were wonderful on both days—very friendly and welcoming. Their warmth really added to the overall experience. The lady gave us helpful tips for our drive back and kindly reminded us to be careful on the road due to the yellow weather warning.

Breakfast was very good...everyone seemed to enjoy the food. There was a good selection of pastries and breads as well. The evening meals on the most part were very good, however, one night we did order sauces for our steaks and they came out late and were not made properly. We weren't, however, charged for them in the end which was fine. The bedrooms were very tidy and very comfortable. In terms of the staff, everyone was very friendly, however, the reception staff went above and beyond to look after us and made us feel very welcome.

Breakfast was excellent and so was dinner all he staff where very friendly and helpful and worked very hard the rooms where lovely and done up well. Very peaceful surrounding .Bus right outside the hotel which is a bonus if you do not want to drive

If you only want a drink you have to walk through the restaurant where people are eating to get one. At the bar that is where you had to check in if you had booked a table for food quite confusing. There should be podium at the front of the restaurant where you can be seated to your table and then you can order a drink with the waitress and they can cross you off the list. When you have ordered your food the waitresses should remove the menu then they will know that food has been ordered, as there was confusion who had been served and who had not. They need table numbers actually on the tables

We booked a room with an en suit and fully filed our expectations. It was large with brilliant views over mountains and hotel gardens. We read reviews that the hotel is outdated and going through renovation, so it was quite worrying that it maybe affect our stay but it wasn't. We can't say how others rooms looks but our was very stylish and well equipped, there was safe locker, fridge, two hairdryers ( one in bathroom and other one in dresser drawer ) socket with USB ports ( next to kettle ), iron and ironing board, kettle etc. . We loved our room especially for big and very comfortable bed and views. Yes there signs of renovation taking place like new carpets etc. but you won't be bothered about DIY team as they working unnoticeable and we have seen just one closed area where DIY materials were kept but it was out of customer eyes and way. Surprisingly there was absolutely zero dust which usually is part of these kind of jobs so all that added together shows how professional team is working there. Swimming pool and area is very clean in decent size pool and large jacuzzi fits easily nine people , wet sauna large and not over steamed , we like the fact that pool was well set and there was chlorine level not to exceed. Unfortunately we can say nothing about dry sauna as it was through renovation and was close 😕 but looks nice inside anyway. Breakfast - you can eat it at a restaurant or order to room , we like a fact that continental breakfast desks was prepared for own use and hot one was ordered by waiter, food was great 👍 Pub , it's doesn't have victorian age charm as someone was write in review but is small cozy nice and for them which like outdoors, table are there too so yes - we like it and it looks that others too. Large chose of alcohol.
