The food was excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere and it was notable in the restaurant that there was no music in the back ground so we could hear what each other was saying. The room was fine (Room 1) and the bathroom was excellent. Plenty of parking.

The WiFi was really poor, even in the public areas. That's a shame as it is an easy thing to get right particularly as the hotel was a deadspot for EE. Same for the TV in the room which was hit and miss with a poor signal. There was quite a lot of noise from the room above us in terms of creaky floorboards - sufficient to wake me up. A slightly odd critiscism, but we found the cutlery (knives) in the restaurant pretty useless at cutting food!

Clean rooms. Delicious and good spread of breakfast. Good portions. Trained and efficient staffs. Free parking.

1. Water from the shower was too hot. Somehow we could not get the mixer operate. Eventually used the taps in the bathtub as an alternative. We did not get time to inform the staff. 2. There was absolutely zero view. 3. No children play area. 4. The property is a bit far from the major lakes - so if you would like to base this for the Lake District, think twice. One way to Keswick town center took us around 30 mins in our car and honestly I did not like it as the road gets pitch dark and with rains, I found the drive to be a bit dangerous one at night.

The staff are great, parking isn't an issue and the cooked breakfast is great. Rooms are good depending on which one you stay in.

Room 8 is terrible. The room is fine but it is located over the kitchen so is very noisy during the evening and morning. I highly recommend you avoid this room. I have stayed before and my previous room was much better in terms of location. Cooked breakfast was great but there were no other options apart from bread and jam this time. Usual pastries were unfortunately missing for whatever reason.

I / we were highly impressed with our stay at the old ginn house inn . Our rooms were roomy , comfortable, and clean with nothing out of place and everything we could need for our short stay . Even though there was an event going on at the hotel, we were not forgotten. We had a delicious evening meal, and table staff never faltered . After a comfortable night sleep by all, we had an amazing breakfast 😋. We couldn't complain at all about the portion size (more than enough). Thank you, Old Ginn House Inn Would definitely recommend this hotel .

Everything! Nothing to Claim! Every Stay is Perfect!

Easy access to room, staff friendly and attentive even though we were 2 hours late arriving for dinner it was no problem and we were communicating during our drive up from London.

Sunday breakfast staff were a bit slow and vague and our table wasn’t set. No mini fridge, tissues or body lotion provided which would have been useful as we were travelling with children.

Everything about The Old Ginn House was perfect. We arrived later than anticipated, but even though the restaurant was very busy they managed to squeeze us in. Food was superb - large portions of tasty local fare. Room was immaculate and quiet. Breakfast was 1st class but beware - the Full Cumbrian is a sizeable offering so don’t feel bad about asking for the smaller version. Would highly recommend staying / eating here

Nothing - couldn’t fault anything

The overall standard of the hotel was first class. The staff were friendly and professional. My wife's vegetarian requirements were easily met with a good range of dishes. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The quality and cleanliness was faultless. We hope to return in the future..

Stayed in room 1 and the bed mattress was very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs when laying down .The first nights sleep very uncomfortable . Reported the fact to the staff who did the best to sort out a bad situation . With the price paid for our stay in this room ,you would have expected to have everything at a high standard. The toilet also had a leak down the rear .

Our room was very spacious and the accommodation is in a great location with easy access to nearby towns for exploring. Plenty of car parking spaces and the staff were all very friendly. We had breakfast included and it was great, we tried different things off the menu each time. I'd recommend also eating in the pub one evening, the meals are good quality and they're certainly not small!

The bedroom doors tend to slam, which can wake you up very easily if your neighbours are up in the morning before you. If you're an early riser then that's not an issue, but if you're trying to have a bit of extra sleep then it's not so great. Overall, not a big issue for us and it wouldn't stop us going back.
