A perfect B&B with a helpful and friendly host in Sue, on arrival she asked me what I would like for breakfast so clearly she had me figured out :-) Locally sourced toiletries in the bathroom (bathrobe provided which was a nice touch), spacious and perfectly clean throughout, the afforementioned breakfast using local produce and of course close to the lakes and the sea. I'd be proud to recommend Armidale to anyone staying in the area and will visit again with pleasure

Full English Breakfast was excellent, especially the home made Blueberry Muffins and homemade jam. Great location for exploring the Lake district and only 15 mins from Cockermouth with good pubs and restaurants. Sue and Fred were very welcoming. Extremely clean and very comfortable beds. We would highly recommend this B&B.

We would prefer an ensuite shower, but shared bathroom with bath tub very much in keeping with the property.

I stayed at Armidale while visiting family nearby. Sue and Fred were fantastic hosts, they really made me feel welcome and looked after. The breakfast was cooked to order and really set me up nicely for the day :-) My room was lovely and the B&B in general has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay with them again.

The only downside for me was the shared bathroom but it wasn't a problem as I was the only guest when I stayed. Also would be nice to have a separate shower (the shower is part of the freestanding bath).

Absolutely lovely, homely and clean and exceeded expectations. Sue and Frank were very accommodating and Sue went above and beyond to make myself and another guest very welcome, waking up to specially made muffins and breakfast by a log fire, I stay in lots of places with work and I highly recommend staying at Armidale for work or pleasure whilst visiting Cumbria 10/10!

The hosts were both friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent but you had better be hungry – The portions are very generous. The room was comfortable with tea, coffee (Nespresso machine) and hot chocolate. The Wi Fi was very good, and it was a pleasant surprise to see that Netflix was available at no extra cost.

Beautiful building, lovingly restored. Warm and welcoming, great parking and fab breakfast.

This is being exceptionally picky as it's the only thing I would change but the room wasn't en suite which was a shame, however it was just beside the bedroom so no real problem.

Sue was very friendly, and eager to help. I had a the ubiquitous "full English" breakfast and this kept me full for most of the day. This house is well kept, tidy and is a mix of German and English in influence that work well together. The bedroom had plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. There was the expected tea/coffee making equipment: unexpectedly, however, the coffee wasn't a sachet of the instant variety, but a pod machine. There was also a choice of Earl Grey, breakfast and green teas.

"What didn't you like?" isn't the best choice of question to answer as there wasn't anything I didn't like. I do have to mention that the room wasn't "en suite" but shared a bathroom, something I didn't notice when booking so some responsibility is mine there. I was, however, warned to sit down for a shower least the water go over the bath and went through into the room below. Also the bedroom doesn't have a lock on the door, just an Essex Latch: this wasn't a concern for me, but might be for others.

The location was good and the breakfast was to die for(exceptional). The hostess Sue was at the door ready to greet us which was lovely. Beautiful accommodation and surrounding gardens. I would definitely recommend these cottages and I would also stay there again when visiting Workington. Thank you Sue.

It was on a main road. Nothing of interest in local area. Would not go back as I have a bad back and beds were to soft. Overall was ok.

Beautiful location to explore the coast. We were made very welcome. Coffee and cake on arrival was wonderful! Spacious garden to enjoy. Huge room with the most comfortable bed.
