The location its in the middle of nowhere peaceful beautiful amazing views all round

The food!! I think the chief should be sacked as the menu is not traditional pub food when it says fillet of cod deep fried beer battered sorry but this doesn’t NOT mean 30 seconds in frier is not golden!! the fish almost jumped back into the lake, the lasagne where do i start poor using something that identifies its self as cheap frozen mince thats been blended to a inch of its poor life is awful left a funny taste in my mouth that had been nuked to keep it warm!! the chips limp anaemic not sure they had been cooked on a candle not the frier!! Fine dining more like find the dining!! What place doesn’t do a burger basic bar food simple easy to cook menu needs re looking as its a total let down for the hotel

I had made this booking last minute because my choice was sold out on their rental. For the low price I paid, I made my mind up it was going to some rot with bad food but I was truly surprised to see how clean and modern the rooms were. It isn't a big hotel and perhaps that's why it felt so cozy. Plenty of parking and grounds to walk, play or have a drink. Their breakfast which I had throughout my stay was delicious and very generous. You could help yourself to yoghurt, cereal, fruits even before your actual food got served. The staff are friendly and nice but not in your face. I came back to a clean room with fresh towels and toiletries each time I went out. Around the hotel are mountaineous views, and just a few minutes drive to waterfall trails. We went into the city center at night for meals as it was closeby. This is a really lovely hotel for the price being offered. I would recommend to anyone who cares to listen and visit again if I want to stay in the Western Lake District.

Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than I expected and brilliant for my wife whi has mobility issues. The view from the window was lovely.

As it was extremely hot weather either a fan or air-conditioning would have been nice but the windows opened so we were able to cool the room down.

The property ground is beautiful with a farm right next to it. Staff are very friendly too. Bed is comfortable and room is spacious. Keswick which is a short drive is a lively town centre with lots of lovely shops and restaurants.

Not so much about the property but there happened to be a wedding on the day we stayed and we could hear the party right till midnight.

Ideal base for hiking in the Lake District. Hotel room was spacious and was clean and warm. Good choice of food on the breakfast menu. Option to buy a packed lunch for walking which was helpful. Close to the town to pick up supplies. Would definitely return if walking in this area of the lakes.

TV reception wasn’t great. Slightly dated decor.

Staff were really good; polite, professional and extremely pleasant. Food is exceptional (book for Dinner, it’s worth it) the whole place is so well kept both internally and externally and then you also have the beautiful Lake District views! Can’t recommend enough

I found nothing to dislike!

Nice quiet location, perfect for parking our motorbike overnight. The evening meal was ok but nothing special but thought the restaurant area was more like a fast food chain eating area.

definitely the restaurant area needs a make over
