This Hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very well appointed and my room, although only an 'economy single' was excellent with a very well thought out layout and very well furnished. The bed was very comfortable, tea and coffee (with some biscuits) provided, TV and Wi-Fi. The small bathroom, walk in shower were all spotless. A hot buffet style breakfast was also thrown in with the room price. There is also a cosy little bar on the ground floor to help you relax. Given the Lake District location, this was excellent value for money. I would highly recommend.,

The property was in an excellent location. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Great value. Paige, the lady that checked us in was wonderful. Very friendly, just what you need when you’ve travelled along way. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic asset to the hotel.

We travelled with a small dog so breakfast was in a dark side room, perhaps could have been seated where we had our evening meal in the bar the previous night ( with the dog) Felt a little bit forgotten. Had to ask for cups, glasses and to order food. Nonetheless, when the food arrived it was fantastic, great value. Good amount of choice on the breakfast menu.

Location is excellent right in the hub of town. Very large room, modern, clean decor for an old building. Breakfast was generous and the staff were A1 - so friendly and helpful, especially in the middle of a heatwave.

Our bed was huge (2 singles together) but the mattress on my side sloped to the end of the bed which wasn’t too comfortable. As they seemed quite full and we only stayed 3 nights I only brought it to the staff attention at checkout so the next guest didn’t get the same. That was my only complaint.

On arrival greeted by a very friendly lady on reception. Our rooms were exceptional, very spacious, spotlessly clean and warm. The very large bathrooms again were so clean they shone. The shower, over a huge corner bath, was fantastic. Great nights sleep with no disturbances from inside the hotel. All the staff were super friendly. Breakfast gave lots of choice and was exceptional. The location was perfect for a stay in this charming market town.

There is literally nothing to improve on. Could not fault anything. If I could give 11/10 I would. To get such quality for the price we paid was incredible.

Everything was spotless, staff were very friendly, breakfast was cooked to order. The hotel is situated in a central location, making it ideal to get around. We would definitely book again.

The only fault was the couple whom were situated next door to us…too much row! Unfortunately we are fully aware this sometimes can’t be avoided. Old building, thin walls etc. However this doesn’t reflect on the overall experience In Cockermouth, and our stay.

Had a very warm welcome. The staff are lovely and our room was ready when we arrived at 12pm. We stayed in a executive room. It was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge!!! The hotel is being refurbished. The decor is lovely, and in keeping with the age of the building. Neutral decor with a modern twist. The breakfast was beautiful. A varied menu to suit everyone and good quality ingredients. Location is perfect, central to town, parking is a car park just opposite if there is space £6.20 for 24 hours which I thought was good value. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back.

Nicely appointed room - huge in size, everything you needed in pace and pleasant/friendly staff

We waited over 30 minutes for a bacon sandwich (the restaurant was busy). When it arrived is was extremely disappointing… poor white bread - buttered without asking if we wanted it buttered, bacon was undercooked and tasteless.….We couldn’t finish them - People on table opposite had full English and left similar amount of uneaten food. Real shame as couldn’t fault the room.

My single room was small but had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. The hotel is ideally situated being central and close to good restaurants and bars. The breakfast was good with a range of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juices, tasty eggs and nicely toasted bread. All the staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful. The Leisure Centre car park was only a short walk away but unfortunately the hotel won't be able to provide parking permits after November due to changes being introduced by the Council.

I found the illuminated clock on the mirror irritating when trying to get to sleep but the problem was easily solved by hanging a jacket over it.
