Craig and Chris were really accommodating hosts. My Wife and I booked at short notice and even though normal check in was not until late afternoon, we asked if it was possible to park our vehicle so we could take a walk-up Cat Bells. Not only did they allow us to park up early suggested we knock on the door in case a room was free, and we were in luck hence able to check in early and get on with our day. Chris is charge of the breakfast and it was lovely, choice of hot and cold, cereals, juice (cannot remember if any pastries were out - but fresh cake available free for guests) filled us up for the day. Also, if you want information about buses, restaurants, ferries across the lakes, walking routes Chris and Criag are full of local knowledge. After descending Cat Bells on their advice, we caught the ferry from Hawes End to Keswick only cost £12 for 2adults and saved us another 90mins walking. The location is gorgeous, quiet, spectacular views and lovely front garden. Coffee shop is close by with the Farmer Arms pub just down the road. Oh, and if you ask in advance, they will supply a packed lunch. We liked the location as it’s only a 15 / 20-minute walk into Keswick by foot. Recommend giving them a call as offer discounts direct. We will definitely be back.

This was not our host's fault but our own as when we chose to book we forgot to check that the room had a shower and not a bath but will note that for next time.

When we arrived we were met and welcomed by Craig, who showed us around, explained how everything worked, and gave us lots of information about the local area, places to walk, places to eat. Very, very, informative. The room was lovely, the view from the room was stunning, breakfast was amazing, the service, the choice, and the taste. (Thanks Clare.) We couldn't fault a thing. We really enjoyed our time at Dalegarth House. We will definitely return.

There was nothing not to like. I can't see what more Craig and Clare could have done to make our stay more enjoyable.

Excellent location, nice view from the window. Cosy, friendly and clean room. Comfortable bed. When we arrived ,we had a lovely warm welcome from the host. Craig has full of knowledge about the area around Derwentwater, and we had lovely guide from him during our stay (buses, places to visit etc). Claire and Craig were extremely friendly, and attentive,we really enjoyed Craig's excellent humour. The breakfast was well prepared, I enjoyed the freshly made fruit salad every single morning. Stunning view from the window in dining room as well. Homemade flapjack on the table, just help yourself. Printed daily weather information on desk that made our daily trip to much easier. We had a pleasant stay. Highly recommend!

There's nothing We didn't like.

A very warm welcome and a lovely tour of the property with a guide of where to eat. The room was immaculate and very well presented. There was always hot water and the room was a lovely temperature. Even though we hadn’t booked breakfast they were able to facilitate us and it was most certainly worth it. The full breakfast was delicious and the coffee was spot on. They even had some lovely pheasants who roomed in the garden who even had names!! The homemade shortbread was delicious after a day of exploring.

Dalegarth House is a beautifully peaceful place to stay. Firstly, the location itself had wonderful views of the mountains and derwentwater lake. It is a very short walk into Keswick and an even shorter drive. The gardens around the house are perfectly kept, and the house itself is stunning. The breakfast room is comfortable and inviting, and the communal lounge is a wonderful touch. The room we stayed in was wonderful, a beautifully modern room which was spotlessly clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. The hosts, Craig and Claire, were fantastic. Craig was so pleasant and funny and very knowledgeable about the local area. Claires' breakfasts were phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly, well presented, and generous portions. The whole stay was fantastic and we could not have asked for better.

Nothing, we loved everything.

We loved how friendly and welcoming Claire and Craig were. We'd normally stay in an apartment but we were so happy we chose to stay at this B&B instead. The breakfast was fantastic! Also, the homemade flapjacks and drinks available to guests were an excellent comforting surprise. The bed was super comfortable. The location was nice and quiet.

Our bathroom had a lovely bath but the shower head wasn't mounted which made it hard to use, especially with no shower curtain and getting the temperature right was tricky too.

We had a lake view room which had an amazing view to the village, lake and surrounding hills(even on the cloudy day). The room was very clean and spacious. Nicely refurbisbed and well equipped. The owners super friendly and welcoming (yummy homemade flapjacks at the entrance as a surprise from the owners). Great parking space and the owners were very kind letting us to leave our car while exploring Keswick surroundings. Location is great, easy access to A road, but you can’t hear any noise in the property. Keswick 20min walking distance that has plenty of places to eat and beautiful lake to walk around or engage in water sports. Scafell Pike is 20min drive.

The room got a bit too chilly at night and early morning. There were some clotches left in the wardrobe by previous customer, not sure why it was not removed while cleaning the room.

Very convenient and quiet location. 15 minute walk to Keswick for food and shops. Host Claire showed me round and was very accomodating. It was easy to stay in touch via email and Whatsapp. Check in process very easy.

This is really nit picking, but the toilet seat in my room would not stay up on its own, so gents have to sit down for No.1'. Otherwise everything was very comfortable and clean.

We liked everything Lovely welcome no problem with us arriving early, shown to our room which was lovely but had no bath just shower I asked if at all possible there was a room available with a bath we were given a lovely much bigger room with bath & a mountain view it was perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful house with a beautiful garden, we didn't have breakfast as we were leaving early next morning but the welcome cake in the hallway was delicious. Thankyou for making our stay so perfect.

There was nothing at all you could possibly dislike.

Great friendly front of house who provided good directions for what we wanted to do during the day. Allowed us to check in early per our request as well. Breakfast was served fresh and hot, would highly recommend this accommodation. Only a 15 minute walk into the town centre (via a muddy path if its been raining). Flapjack on arrival was a real treat.

Overall a great stay, only real drawback was the noise which cannot be controlled by the owners. Once people start to wake up in the morning you can hear them talking and moving around. This wouldn't stop us from returning though.
