The hosts Tim and Karen couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. They were not intrusive but were on hand if we needed anything. The bedroom (Rm 1) was very comfortable and the view of the lake and mountains from it was beautiful. Breakfast was most enjoyable with an extensive menu that covered every taste. There was plenty of advice available in the bedroom re places to eat and visit, plus essential information that might have been required such as taxis, medical assistance and so on.

I would have liked a bath but knew there would only be a large shower (which worked well and looked new!). Everything was perfect so nothing anti to report.

The home was beautiful and our room whilst small was comfortable with a gorgeous view. We had the room with the bathroom across the hall which was huge. It is a short drive to keswick, lots of choice for meals. We used the local bus to get around as some places struggle for parking, there is a stop just down the road. Now for breakfast, it is amazing and the menu is extensive so there is something for everyone and they like you to leave for the day feeling full. Karen and Tim are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and have lots of knowledge of the area. Fully recommend staying at Lakeside.

Nothing it was great

Lakeside is a charming and comfortable guesthouse in a beautiful setting. The owners, Tim and Karen, are absolutely lovely people and went above and beyond for us during our stay, even very kindly giving us a lift to the wedding we were attending so we didn't have to get rained on by walking to get the bus when no taxis were available! The breakfast offering is both varied and delicious, a thousand times better than the food you would get at any larger hotel, the full English with local Keswick ketchup, the porridge and the pancakes were all excellent and set us up for both days. We had a fantastic view of the surrounding area from our room (no 4). We would definitely stay here again!

We only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights!

The location was idyllic and the hosts, Karen and Tim, communicated thoroughly from the moment we booked. The house was warm and friendly and definitely like a home away from home! The breakfasts, cooked by Tim, were delicious using top quality produce and offering a wide variety of English classics. We were very impressed with the selection on offer and the easy to use ordering system sent the night before. Karen went above and beyond during our welcome, offering us with anything we needed and top tips of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back again! Thank you both for welcoming us to your amazing home!

The warm welcome, it’s not everyday the door is opened for you and there is a welcoming smile and hello. The actual property is large and very clean, our room was slightly small, but we knew that when booking, however it was fine for a couple of days. The best thing was the hosts who couldn’t do enough for you, they were very friendly and accommodating. Finally the breakfasts were the best I have ever had.

There is only one pub/restaurant which is within easy walking distance.

Tim and Karen are truly wonderful hosts - from the moment we arrived, greeted with offer of drinks (and delicious ginger flapjack!) through to our departure, we were treated almost as old friends such is the warm nature of the hosts. The house is beautifully presented with lovely front gardens (eating the delicious breakfast outside, weather permitting, is a great way to start the day), and located in a peaceful area, whilst still easy to reach main points of interest. We can't wait to return in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending to anyone - thank you both!

The Lakeside Guest House was a delight, a very friendly welcome from the hosts Tim & Karen, who couldn't have done more to please. Breakfast was a delicious and so filling we skipped lunch whilst out hiking. We liked the location with it being so close to the lake and several Wainwrights on the doorstep. The room was well presented, clean and stocked with everything we needed, and the bed was comfy, which was needed after those long hikes zzzzz.

Very lovely cottage in the center of lake disctrict - outside of the main cities but close to everything. with amasing owners, ready to help us on many occasions. They gave us very accurate recommendations for restaurant which eased our mind - as they were really tasty and not pricey. We had the chance to stay in the double room with view on the lake, it worth it so much. They also offered some lunch packs for our hikes - fruit, sandwich, water and cakes for 8£ each. Due to the weather condition we did not try to have our breakfast outside, but on a sunny day, I would definitely recommending to try.

I loved the warm friendly welcome to the the Guest House, which was beautifully furnished and had amazing views especially the morning views. Karen & Tim are exceptional hosts and know how to make their guests feel at ease and relaxed from the start to finish of their stay. Nothing is too much trouble they went above and beyond to make our days memorable with their own personal touches and I would highly recommend this Guest house to anyone who would like to stay. Spotless throughout, fabulous ambiance, delicious food, extremely comfortable room and bathroom that met all our needs

You would find it very difficult to find anything unlikeable about this Guesthouse, infact I believe you would find it difficult to beat anywhere else.

Tim & Karen were so welcoming and friendly. Karen greeted us and made us feel at home immediately. She made us a cup of tea and explained the best places to eat that evening. The room was very clean and comfortable; just what we needed for a couple of nights. The breakfast was amazing, so filling and so delicious! The location was perfect for exploring Keswick and the surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend! We loved our stay, thank you!
