Lovely breakfast. Great for dog owners, with a good size dedicated walk area. Nothing too much trouble, very relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable bed and spotless room. Lovely shower, and good towels. Evening meal was superb and excellent value for money. Relaxing armchairs available in bar which was lovely after a long drive!

Our particular room was in the main building and faced out near the road. As it was hot we slept with the window open which did allow traffic noise from the road outside to disturb us a little. This is unavoidable for the hotel of course, so no fault of theirs, just worth mentioning if you particularly needed quiet as they may have some rooms more suitable. No hairdryer in room, needed to be requested from reception but readily available when asked for.

Breakfast was good, had a choice. Plenty of tea and coffee. Good menu, staff were very nice. We had a celiac with us and had previously informed the hotel, they could provide for him just about. Lovely atmosphere, cosy pub. Room adequate, lovely heated floor in the bathroom. Good tea and coffee tray in the bedroom. Lovely fluffy towels, clean and tidy.

My room was as expected, I did mention on leaving that there were a few things needing fixing, door lock, extractor in bathroom which meant paint on ceiling peeling I guess cos of damp, needs attention and around shower, bit too much mould and light above the mirror not working, ok for 1 night. Would have liked a larger mirror. A lot of good points and a few needing attention.

The Hopton Crown was well situated and easy to find, only 5 minutes outside Cleobury Mortimer. The building is impressive, with quirky features. Massive car park. Inside the building is well maintained and nicely presented. The rooms are very clean, well decorated and functional, with very comfy beds. Breakfast was well presented and tasted delicious. You had a buffet to start, then a choice 4 dishes for the main. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was priced well and excellent value for money. On the whole, it was a lovely experience and a hotel I would definitely return to.

My partner really enjoyed her Sea Bream dish, the staff we're all positive, personable, helpful and articulate. The room was very comfortable, clean and in general a nice environment.

Couple of minor things. Our meal and breakfast were both very nice in general and of a very good standard for a pub restaurant. However, we had a chocolate tart dessert that was a bit poor. The garnishes we're all nice, just the tart itself wasn't great. Bit of coffee training for staff perhaps. I work for a coffee roaster though so a bit of a stickler. There is a really good roaster nearby; Hundred House. Last thing, we nearly smashed the glass shower door on the sink as the bathroom area of our room was tight for space. A warning about that would be helpful for clumsy folk like us.

Have stayed here a couple of times now as it is local to a site where I provide training. Staff are very friendly and they serve the best scrambled eggs. I like mine soft and they get it perfect every time. Fish and chips is amazing (this weeks pie not quite up to that standard - will opt for the fish and chips again on my next stay!)

When staying in the cottages although clean and well appointed there is some noise from the adjoining rooms and it is impossible to shut the doors quietly!

Lovely, big suite (room 1) with amazing two-person bath & separate large shower. A comfortable, homely, proper old country inn, with lovely bar area & good atmos. Staff were welcoming & worked hard.

* On a very cold day, we arrived to a room with no heating switched on, which marred our first impression. Nice young chap brought an oil-filled radiator & said he’d ‘boost the system’, which he did. Awoke the next morning (again, near freezing temperatures) to no heating once more. Took a while until it was remedied. * Dining was hit & miss. Goats’ cheese parcels poor for a whopping £9; husband’s batter on fish was over cooked, hard & virtually inedible (for £19 for fish & chips it should have been exceptional); my steak, though tender & tasty, was served medium when I asked for rare. Some mistakes on the breakfast orders.

Location was lovely, room was clean and comfortable. Food good especially the breakfast.

Room was cold on arrival and it took 3 visits to staff before this was rectified, the last visit being 5 o’clock, then it took a good hour before the room was warm. We were told that heating was timed for 4pm and we did access our room early but would suggest that if rooms are available from 4pm heating especially in the winter should be timed to allow the room to heat up.

The perfect refurbished country pub. Very friendly staff and super dog friendly. Lovely beamed room and immaculately clean. Excellent bar with good house wines, tasty good value menu and attractive restaurant with another close to the bar which accepts dogs. Lovely breakfast, great scrambled egg and bacon. Great coffee. Extra special touch of home made marmelade to accompany fresh bread toast. We loved everything about The Crown and will be coming back soon. Highly recommended and great value.

To be honest there was nothing significant. We loved it.

Comfortable bed and breakfast in a perfect location to access the local area, for us especially Ludlow. The rooms were spacious and the facilities worked for the single night.

The shower ran cold and the water stopped for 5 minutes during. This may have been because of other people showing in the cottage, but was not fun! Service at breakfast was excellent, however dinner service was poor - asked for water and the wine menu more than three times, finding it quicker to get from the bar ourselves. Food orders were taken, following the waitress returned to reconfirm. Breakfast staff member couldn't have been more kind - so not a comment as a whole

Clean

It wasn’t the property, it was the lack of staff. Residents were not happy about the long wait for food. Staff who were working looked stressed and under pressure. We left before having part of our meal delivered to us. There was a large wedding party, additional staff should have been on rota to deal with everyone not just the wedding party.
