The structure was clean and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and freshly prepared, and there were lactose and gluten free options, too. I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant once, and found it not only fresh and delicious, but also fairly reasonably priced. Included in the price were also free transports and discounts on several museums and attractions—which made my stay easier. The location was great, because it was at a walkable distance from the centre, and the free transports made that distance even shorter.

Unfortunately, a few tramlines stopped right in front of the hotel, making it hard to sleep at night, similarly to the church bells, which would ring every half an hour all night through. Also, I found both the mattress and the pillow to be way too soft, and the remote control wasn’t working. Nothing that can’t be fixed, but it adds up to the stress of a business trip. I can’t say anything about communication, as I speak fluent German, however, I wasn’t even asked if preferred English or German, which seems to suggest non-German speaking guests might be disadvantaged.

Stayed for one week during Eurovision. The staff were very friendly—special shoutout to Soraya, you rock! I was upgraded to a larger room with two twin beds and a fridge, which was a nice surprise. The location is fantastic: just a 1-minute walk to a grocery store, 4 minutes to the Congress Center, where the EuroClub and EuroVillage were held, and conveniently next to tram stops. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the Cailler chocolates at reception were a delicious touch.

A few minor downsides: the shower stall was quite small, and the doors were tricky to keep closed, causing some water to leak onto the floor. The two twin beds were pushed together rather than having a proper double bed, and the comforter was a bit too warm for the weather.

This was an accidental discovery, but it worked out just fine. The best part is that they allow for late arrival, which many in Basel don't have any more. It's not exactly in the historical center proper but across the river. However, it takes 2-3 tram stops to go to the main attractions, and trams are frequent and run at night as well (or it can be a nice walk across the bridge in good weather). There is a direct tram to the train station (about 12-15 min) if you walk one block, or a tram to the center just across the hotel. A big Migros supermarket/dept store nearby that is open late by Swiss standards (8 pm), with large choice of food and other necessitieis. The room was better than expected. Furnished simply but everything is well taken care of. Surprisingly comfortable bed, large TV with international channels, stable WIFI. They even had a fridge and a coffee maker. Spottlessly clean. I didn't have the time to try their restaurant, but it seemed popular with the locals and had tempting aromas at dinner time. Reasonable prices for Basel. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Next time I'm in Basel I'll try this hotel first.

Everything was fine.

LOCATION! The hotel has ideal location everything is within walkable distance, there are stores around and cafes as well. The room when entered was spotless clean, room cleaning was not that bad either. The room is definitely not soundproof, but if you plan to be out all day and just sleep at night, works perfectly well. Everything is silent after 11:00pm. The cleaning starts at 9:00am, so if you prefer to sleep till late hours maybe not best option. Staff very nice and helpful. Hotel provide Basel card which is simply life savor! FREE transport within Basel city and almost 50 % discount on all museums. Room not spacious, but enough for 1 person. Overally, recommended, especially considering the location and price, plus room amenities was not bad as well.

Would loved to have for breakfast something more than eggs and cheese. Very moderate breakfast, but bearable :D

Helpful & friendly staff. Very good value at £72 per night for my 4 night stay. Solo traveler upgraded to twin room: Comfortable, modern and spacious with all the facilities I required. Safe & secure; Good location - a 5/6 minute walk to the bridge leading to the Old Town and right next to supermarket & bus/tram stops. Guest receives a BaselCard - offering free bus & tram travel (useful as a 20-25 minute wall to the main train station) AND half price entry to museums & galleries - including the world renowned Kunstmuseum & Vitra Design Complex

It is unusual for a hotel like this to have only two stars, I would definitely add one more star, meaning three stars at least! It seems that the hotel has been renovated because the rooms seem new, while the toilet is quite spacious. The staff was very friendly, they will help you answer all your questions. In addition, I had an early morning flight and wanted to just leave my luggage and go sightseeing right away, but I still managed to check in earlier. All praise for the hotel, especially since the ratio of price and quality is ideal, bearing in mind the Swiss high life standard.

I have no complaints, but perhaps air conditioning would be welcome - although it is not a requirement for me personally because I spend very little time in the room (I come just to take a shower and sleep).

Location in the city center, close to the tram stop and bus stop. Room with bathroom clean. Small coffee machine in the room and small fridge. Rooms small (8m2), but enough for a short stay. Received Basel City Card that allows me to use public transport free of charge.

Hotel has a restaurant at the ground floor and there is a kitchen that had a door opened to the stair case, which allowed all smells from this kitchen to go to hotel corridors. Walls thin - I heard neighbors quite well.

The room was incredible, very spacious with a sofa, a large desk and equipped with fridge, kettle and tea/coffee and chocolates, which was a nice touch. The location is good, only 10 minutes walk to the main square and with good connections with the station by tram.

We live in a quiet place and maybe that's why we felt that at night the traffic was too loud from the room. We understand that there's no much the hotel can do about it and we only stayed for one night.

Good location for the city. Provided us with Basel Pass which was great for free transport and discounts in museums.

Compared to other hotels on our 32 night road trip , this hotel didn’t have a good breakfast , it was, in our experience, quite basic and not good value for money. The car parking is in another street and underground which wasn’t too convenient for us with quite a lot of luggage.
