I had my birthday celebrated during the stay at this hotel and the staff made my day! Everyone worked together, from the receptionist, the chef and the ladies assuring the breakfast service to surprise me with a cake, with candles and even with a toy as a gift from the entire team! These people are amazing and their collective really makes you feel like home away from home.I would like to thank to Alex Chirita especially, for being so friendly on arrival, such a good guide recommending places to visit, he was so kind to plan the birthday surprise and take care to have the exact candles as my birthday age. The attention to details waa a top notch! The location next to the bus station connecting the hotel with the train station and city center it's a big plus! Also, the breakfast's options are so variated and for everyone's taste, always having fresh products. The room was perfectly clean, and bigger than the usual in Basel, the cleaning done everyday with attention and taking care of the personal belongings in the room. The friendliest staff I've encountered in a long time during so many years of travel!

I have nothing to say as negative feedback!

I loved the man from Romania, who did everything about my check-in, in the reception. We got the rooms earlier. He was friendly, funny and helpful! He was just fantastic. We were at the bar during the evening and the cocktails were delicious and we also loved the barman. The breakfast was wonderful and the lady helped us to sit around the perfect table. It was messy, because of the previous guests. She was in a hurry, but she cleaned it soon for us, and kept smiling all the time. Thank you for everything. This hotel was a great decision!

Everything was perfect.

Good-sized room, comfortable mattress, very clean, well maintained. The reception staff was very welcoming and friendly. The continental breakfast was well organized and sumptous. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant, two main dishes which were delicious and the service was quick and friendly. The hotel is located in Kleinbasel, a short tram ride away from the city centre/Old town area, and it was good that the tram step is 3 minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay.

The area didn't seem to have much options for reliable restaurants. The hotel restaurant has a few options for meals, which we noted were delicious but in my opinion they are priced a bit expensive.

The hotel is well connected to tourist attractions by the public transportation. It is a bit old, but clean and spacious. It has an on-site parking, which is very convenient. The breakfast is excellent. The true asset of the hotel, however, is its staff, very friendly, helpful and polite. We had an incident related to the noise coming from the restaurant, and the staff, including the manager, resolved it quickly and to our full satisfaction (thanks a lot, Julia!). We will surely stay in the same hotel next time.

As already mentioned, the hotel is pretty old, the sound travels well across, so try to avoid the rooms over the restaurant, unless you are young and loving a bit of entertainment.

Breakfast was excellent Location was good. We appreciated the given ticket by the hotel for transportation. That was great help to move fast at short notice being in the town for a few days. The personnel was very kind.

We would prefer to have a little fridge in the room to keep something cold. We missed that. Also for old people we would prefer either different color towels or different color hangers to keep each one of us their towels. Hangers for the cloths do not accomodate dresses. They need to be taller. We felt additional toilet paper was missing the last 24 hours before we leave.

Staff: Reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. Restaurant staff could not have worked harder. Great customer service makes a good stay a great stay- many more expensive hotels could learn from the Dorint Basel City. Room: Well equipped with tea/coffee/water and complimentary mini bar. Comfortable bed. Food and drink: Breakfast was fantastic, great selection of hot and cold food which was kept well stocked and clean. Nice little bar. Only had a drink and breakfast. Didn't eat dinner but the menu looked nice and fairly priced.

There wasn't much I didn't like. thought this was a fantastic hotel for the price. It is about a 20min walk from old town but trams/buses so easy to use. I am nit picking here but pillows weren't very comfortable.... I could have asked reception for different ones though!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, we did end up paying a bit more to be on the inner side, looking into an internal garden. These are usually very noisy when there are many guests, but the staff made sure there are no such guests outside after 10, so this was a really nice surprise. Not that the front was very busy, but there was some traffic throughout the day, so definitely more noise that a room looking in the back yard. The breakfast was awesome. We are looking forward to visit this one again one day. Perhaps when the kid gets a bit older.

Literally nothing bad to say.

The hotel is well located , only a few tram stops from the old town/city centre. EuroAirport (BSL) is also well connected to the city and hotel . Breakfast is fantastic, there is a big variety of fresh items and the breakfast area is spacious which is a big plus so at breakfast times it doesn't get crowded. Staff were very helpful and attentive. They left a little surprise for my birthday in the room. Special mention to Angela . The room is spacious and clean with a comfortable mattress and pillows.

The family room was spacious with also a kitchenette. Beds were comfy, although the couch bed is as usual for couches not very comfortable, but for a night it was fine. Breakfast was amazing! There was plenty of everything which one can dream for breakfast. For example English breakfast, a lot of vegetables and fruits, cereals, sweets, etc. I could've had lunch with that breakfast :) Staff was very friendly and very helpful.

There was no air con in the room, which was a pitty because it was 30 degrees outside. Moreover, one of the windows couldn't be opened even tilted as it didn't work.

The hotel boasts a great location, conveniently close to the city center, making it easy to explore the main attractions. The parking facilities are excellent, ensuring a hassle-free experience for guests with cars. The room was comfortable and contemporary, offering a pleasant environment for relaxation. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; the bartender was particularly delightful, always smiling and easy to chat with. Additionally, everyone spoke excellent English, which made communication smooth and enjoyable.

However, there were some drawbacks. The cleanliness of the room was questionable, as there were noticeable cobwebs on the ceiling. The TV was quite dated and small, lacking modern features such as AirPlay, which is expected from a four-star hotel. The biggest downside was the poor sound insulation; I could hear everything from street level as well as conversations from neighboring rooms, which significantly affected the overall comfort and privacy of the stay.
