I usually comment when I'm on vacation, "There's no place like home." But, not this time. Hotel Bennett exceeded my expectations from the moment I stepped through the door. Every staff person I encountered was professional, mannerly, and showered my daughter and I with an abundance of Southern hospitality. I immediately felt at home. All the amenities were first class. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room attendants did a turn down each night and left a sweet treat on the pillows. The linens are high quality and perfectly white and crisp. We also enjoyed breakfast at Virginia's on King and the roof top lounge for lunch. No disappointment at either restaurant as the food arrived hot, fresh, and plentiful. I can't say enough about how impressed we were. If I ever travel to Charleston again, the Hotel Bennett is my must stay location.

I do wish the Hotel had been designed with a larger pool deck area. Ten available chairs for guests, not counting the cabanas, simply fall short for the number of guests anticipating to lounge at the pool.

This hotel is beautifully decorated!! Its is grand and meticulously maintained. Every detail is well thought out.

We paid for the Kingsman Club which we liked very much - it is an upgrade for food and drinks in a private area served from 7:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. They were short staffed for one of the days and some of the food was empty and not replenished. Could not get drinks served. That was annoying since you pay quite a bit extra for that service. Also if you purchase the Kingsman you can only get your drinks in the club and not anywhere else on the property which made being at the pool and wanting a drink very inconvenient. You would have to pay for your drinks at the pool or go back to the Kingsman and get drinks to go.

Every morning of our stay we ate at La Pâtisserie on site and enjoyed fresh quiche and coffee. Delicious. Fresh. Beautiful pastries and baked goods. Hotel Bennett is conveniently located downtown and the staff was just uncomparable! Friendly, helpful, conversational, easy going, and just so nice.

I though the room rates were a little high as compared to other large cities we have visited over Mother's day.

It was beautiful and very clean with all the amenities you could want. The room and bed were so comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great location. A lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Parking is expensive because you have to use the parking garage and get a ticket every single time you enter and charged every time you leave. But the garage was right across the street.

The staff was fantastic! They were all polite and accommodating. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and well equipped. The housekeepers were thorough and cleaned the room daily. They even turned down the beds and offered little chocolate squares nightly! Another wonderful thing the staff did was to bring me a tea kettle as I did not drink coffee. The common spaces were all very clean, and we felt very safe and well taken care of. We also scheduled in-house massages, which were expensive but amazingly relaxing!

The only complaint I heard while I was there was from other guests who all felt the gym was too small for such a large hotel, and I would have to agree. They did have two Peloton bikes (which is what I use for exercise), a treadmill, an elliptical machine, and a nice weight set. Another downside was that the pool did not have lap lanes nor could you eat at the pool prior to lunchtime. Lastly, We did wish they had had a hot tub or a steam-room to warmup before the massages.

Everything at Hotel Bennett was beyond exceptional. From the staff, to the rooms, to the restaurants/bakery, you honestly couldn’t ask for anything more. The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to come back to Hotel Bennett

From the minute we pulled up, the valet helped us immediately. He took our bags and made it so easy! The staff was so kind and the Bell Hop was so knowledgeable and gave us plenty of recommendations! We ate at the hotels restaurant, Gabrielle and it was fantastic. We used the roof top pool and again, such an attentive staff and so kind to their guests!

Minuscule pool packed with people from the bar, not relaxing experience at all. Also not enough seating around pool or distance between seating.

Great room, quite comfortable, and reasonable for the price point. Really good value. The Patisserie is a highlight. Design and comfort of the room was as expected, which was great. Staff was attentive to our requests, and made every effort to accommodate us and make sure we had a great stay.

Fitness center needs to be expanded and upgraded. Even on a leisure trip, guests do want high quality facilities. Restaurant service was not as great . . . mostly slow, and there are better restaurant options in town as we discovered.

Location was excellent. Hotel was beautiful. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Service was excellent except for the pool area.

Pool and pool area was too small for the volume of guests. Unappealing cabanna's were cave like and available for rental and lounge chairs for the cabana guests took up half of the pool's lounge chair area. Only A few lounge chairs were available for on a first come first serve basis for guests. Consequently, you had to pay $300 or $400 if you wanted a lounge chair because the only one's available were the rentals that came with the cabanas. Who wants to sit in a cabana and watch tv? or pay $400 to sit in a lounge chair? You can do that in your room. Very bad system. Server was not helpful and we felt unwelcome at the pool.
