Location, location, location -- perfect! Easy to park your car. Many restaurants in the area. Clean room and toilet. Local TV Station. Good water pressure for shower. Has elevator even though its a tiny hotel. Drinking water station for guests.

The price for this basic hotel is quite pricey. rm150/night is too much for me (and of course i didn't have much choice) Could be a bit lower the price.

One of the quirky room we stayed. it has split level. The bed is sort of on a "stage". Love the windows. We get the riverside view which is nice. It was raining cats and dog so we just drove every where.

No parking area to speak of but there is an area near the river which still under cctv of the hotel. ie it is safe to park there however due to the rain we couldn't park there. so we parked a bit further (out of the watchful eyes of the hotel cctv) but it was all good. our car was safe. it was 9 emperor's celebrations - that was night no.5 when we stayed - so it was so loud. at midnight loud firecrackers and hard to sleep. not good if there are chinese festival - noise level is unbelievable. past midnight!

I liked that the hotel did not ask me for a deposit, AND did not pester by 11.00 am for me to leave like many other Malaysian hotels do. After all, my Booking.com personal user profile is also visible to hoteliers and they can see that I've never given any problems to the hundreds of hotels I've stayed in all around the world. With this good customer service attitude to me, I will definitely come back to this hotel.

The location is great. Easy walking into both the old and new town. The room was simple but comfortable. Great value for the price paid. The view from my room was beautiful over the river and mountains. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a couple of problems with the air con and the kettle. Both were sorted immediately by the staff. The best though was that the owner offers tours. You can take a car and driver by the hour. This enabled me to visit Tempurung Cave and Kek Lok Si Tong Temple as well as Kellie's Castle. I wouldn't have been able to see them otherwise. The tour was fantastic.

My only negativity is the roof garden which is sad and neglected. There's nowhere comfortable to sit and there's a lot of rubbish.

All the staff I spoke to were kind and friendly. Nice rooftop space. There's a great deal ran with the Vietnamese cafe next door, a free coffee each day starting in the afternoon. Free drinking water on the floors. Decent location. Reliable and efficient lift. Handy brochures by reception for stuff to do.

There's TVs in the dorms, which was a first for me. I think this just has the potential to create problems where someone might want to watch it late whilst others would prefer it off. It's unnecessary imo. There was a window in the dorm which had no curtain, light blared through in the morning.

This was a last-minute booking and I didn't do much research into the hotel, so it was actually better than expected. We liked that the airconditioning was very powerful and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is also an easy walking distance from Old Town Ipoh.

The hot water was lukewarm at best. The noises from the corridor also travelled easily into the room.

I booked a private room here which had a ncie view of the river. The front counter staff were really friendly and often asked me how my stay was going to ensure I was having a good time. The hostel is a 15 minute walk from train station and a very short walk to Concubine Street, you can also walk 15 minutes up to the main area of the Kinta Riverfront. My only suggestion would be getting a mini fridge in the rooms so you can keep snacks fresh as there is no bar/eatery in the hostel, but the room was clean and the shower water pressure was surprisingly good too.

could do with mini fridges in the rooms, roof top area felt like it could use some maintenance.
