Loved this hotel. Spacious, clean, comfy beds, bathrobes. Loved the view if the harbour and fountain and the jumping dolphins. Central location to french and historic area. They provide an excellent, free, one hr tour of the waterfront with Skip Evans, 7th generation charlestonian guide. Dont miss it. Only on Mon and Wed. The breakfast was Exceptional, served in your room or on the rooftop terrace. You don’t need lunch after this generous bkfst. Can watch the sunrise over the harbour! Great wine and cheese reception everyday at 5. Met some new people. Warm cookies and milk at 9 pm. Staff very gracious in helping with tour, sights, restaurant reservations.

The location!
The obstructed view from a new hotel directly in front.

Every single member of the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It was so refreshing. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and the daily offerings of wine, charcuterie, cookies, and milk all added to the welcome feeling of it. The room had everything we needed, and the bed was perfectly comfortable. We were lucky to have a balcony with a view of the harbor where we could see dolphins each morning. There is construction going on across the street, but it wasn't as bad as we expected. Noise was minimal.

We always stay at Harbor View when visiting Charleston, one of our favorite cities. Our room was perfect and even had a view of the water. The inn is convenient for everything, including favorite restaurants, and shops, and has easy access to a place for those who like to walk for exercise. We enjoyed breakfast each morning of our stay. This is a great feature! It was always delivered on time, and we appreciated the various good-tasting selections. Your afternoon Happy Hour and cookies and milk at 9:00 PM have become part of our daily schedule. We often find ourselves having long conversations with lovely new people at these charming amenities. Eating a warm chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven is a treat to look forward to each evening!

All the staff are great and only to happy help. Really spacious room which was well appointed including the bathroom. Great location, especially for walking in the French quarter and to market street. The small touches of cheese/charcuterie at 5pm and milk & cookies at 9pm are fabulous and not to be missed. Breakfast can be taken in the room, on their rooftop or in the atrium, huge choice of non cooked breakfast which was great on both our mornings. The atrium has hot and cold beverages through the day and evening when you come back for a blast of AC and to get out of the heat. I'd highly recommend this place, if I'm ever fortunate to stay in Charleston again I know I need to look no further the here.
Nothing, oh yeah some thought I would be great to build a hotel closer to the shore. We had great views of the harbour from our room, sadly not all rooms will have this luxury going forwards. So not the hotels fault

The room was large and sheets and bed comforts were excellent. The staff was kind. We loved our breakfasts and the complimentary evening charcuterie spread each wvening. The location was perfect.
Our air conditioning didn’t work the first night but the staff offered us a different room or a fan. We accepted the fan and slept with our balcony door open all night. Immediately the next day the air conditioning was repaired. They hotel was very responsive and helped make our stay wonderful.

Despite the plush, comfortable rooms, the spacious bathroom and two shower head options, honestly what made this stay extra special was the staff. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and friendly. They made our stay incredible as we were celebrating a milestone birthday in our family. The valet team was speedy and quick to get us where we needed to go and helped with our luggage. The rooftop patio was breezy and cool when the wind hit. Another nice touch was the in-room white noise machine to help lull me to sleep. I didn't want to leave! Walking distance to shopping and dining made this an ideal choice for us but if you needed a ride share, plenty of space out front for you to catch your ride. Never had a concern about safety during our stay.
It's our own fault for going during a holiday week, but the area directly in front of the hotel gets a lot of foot traffic. I realize this is completely outside the control of the hotel, but if you book during a busy period, just know that the fountain gets a lot of kids, the gelato shop gets lines of customers, the pub nearby has gaggles of people loitering in front wondering if they should go in. Sartre was right!

Our stay was wonderful. The staff and location were great! The morning breakfast, afternoon wine and charcuterie and evening milk and cookies were very nice. Our only complaint was the lack of thorough cleaning. The hotel is definitely in need of a refresh. A fresh coat of paint and new carpet is needed. If those items were addressed it would have been a five star review. It’s quite expensive and I expected a bit more.

We unknowingly booked our stay during the 10k bridge race, so our room rate was $700+ for two nights out of the 5 nights we stayed. It by no means was worth that fee. The usual rate is somewhat a fair deal, just because of the location. but the “gauging fee” was too high of a price. We were woken by construction at 6:30 am weekdays, and the trash truck 5:30 Sunday morning… Breakfast was more enhanced continental than gourmet as described but included in room, so sufficient. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Daniel was great! The wine and cheese with live music from 5-6 was well done. So, we liked the hotel, but to be charged extra because of an event , made the stay overpriced for the accommodation . ( Also, moisture damage in scuttle on ceiling and walls of bathroom room 108 was disconcerting )
Price for race weekend Bathroom had moisture damage. Noisy.

As with the previous stay, it’s the wonderful staff - from housekeeping to valet to front desk. They are all so pleasant and welcoming, in addition to being helpful. The location is ideal, in the middle of everything, and I love the waterfront aspect. You cannot top the breakfast service or wine and cheese reception. They are such lovely elements of this property.
I think the only thing I would change is having a bar to access in the evening after dinner for a nightcap.
