I’ve been going to Babalu for the last 10 years love it, it’s my happy place.

The pool bar being shut is a massive disappointment.

First time in the Canary Islands - we loved the trip! The weather was not good in the first few days, but there was plenty to do in Puerto Rico. We booked an apartment in Babalu for 7 days. We prebooked a standard room, but to our pleasent surprise we got a Deluxe room, which was located on the ground floor and included a terrace with furniture. The apartment had a TV, a kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and dishes for three. The pool area is cozy and peaceful. Only one pool was heated, though, and it was a deep pool. The water in the pools suitable for children was too cold at this time of year. Babalu has laundry facilities. The washing machine and dryer are on the 5th floor. Cost was EUR 3.50 per was / drying. The staff is nice and happy to help! The location is good. The nearest shopping center is across the road. The shopping center has restaurants, shops and a Hyper Dino grocery store. You can easily get to the center of Puerto Rico by taxi, the price is about EUR 5.00. We used the PideTaxi app to book taxis. Good basic accommodation. Would definitely stay again!

Love the apartments and the view from the balcony. The staff at reception were very nice and helpful the cleaners came round very regularly. The beds were very comfortable

Missed the pool bar and the supermarket. That was the only thing I disliked .

The view was good and the room was clean. The kitchen had basic utensils to help you cook small meals, prepare tea/coffee, etc. The staff was nice and the room was cleaned daily. We really liked the view from the balcony and sunbeds were there, which made it nice.

The internet was not free and not included in the tariff. However, we paid for it, and the internet was still terrible. We never got any wifi in our apartment, it was present only on the balcony. If you are already charging extra for it, it should be provided throughout the property. I will advise everyone to buy a sim with data instead of buying internet from them.

Could do with a wee upgrade

The apartment was of a good size and clean. The complex was very quiet and didn't have much of an atmosphere unlike nearby hotels, but if you are wanting peace and quiet it is ideal. The swimming pool is really nice and big, plenty of sun loungers available. Very close by to the Europa Center.

No bar, although in the process of opening/refurb which would be good. A lot of apartments owned by locals who give the impression they aren't fond of outsiders.

Loved the location, very close to the europa centre but far enough away not to be bothered by noise. The balconies are huge. We added 2 sun loungers to accompany a table and 3 chairs already there leaving lots of floor space. The pools are a great size with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for shade if needed. Staff were very helpful. I contacted the hotel prior to our arrival and all requests were able to be accommodated. Any other dealings with staff be it reception, cleaners, maintenance were all very pleasant. The hotel has 3 pools in total. A playground for kids. A pool table and ball court. All areas of the hotel are exceptionally clean and well kept. Would 100% stay again. No buses go near these apartments however taxis are frequently available.

Only issue we had was transport, due to no public buses going near the apartments it meant we either need to use taxis or walk. The hill down is fine but return is a struggle.
