What I loved the most about this property was not only the views from the cabin but also the online guidebook the hosts created that made things so much easier to find a restaurant or things to do around the area. The full on breakfast provided was definitely something I wasn’t expecting because you don’t find that in a lot of airbnbs and I found that very generous and heartwarming from the hosts. The Kiwi cabin we stayed in was very spacious, the rooms had electric blankets which helped a lot when it was cold and the deck outside was perfect for watching sunsets! Overall this has been the best place I’ve stayed at and I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a place to have a little vaca at !

The Kea Cabin at Heaven's Rest was more than we expected. Set near the main house next to the vegie patch on its own little private spot. It was modern, clean and well appointed with everything we needed, plus it had the best linen on the bed(s) and stocked with amazing breakfast food including locally made toast spreads and fresh eggs. The main bed was dreamy comfortable and second pull out sofa bed a breeze to set up. It provided the best bathroom/shower products and the option to buy other personal hygiene and care products if necessary... such a great idea! The decking for our morning coffee and double hammock for chilling were added bonuses to this awesome little pad. The main house is gorgeous and welcoming. There is access to the Spa, which we'll take advantage of next time. The beauty and serene setting of Heaven's Rest was a treat. We loved it!

The only niggle was the short gravel road access to the property off the main road isn't lit at night.

Chosen for easy drive next morning to the airport (outside peak traffic times). Spacious detached unit, quiet location. Excellent recycling system including food waste for compost. Comfortable bed. Well stocked fridge with milk, yogurt, bread, fruit and their own eggs. Food cupboards well stocked with cereals and various cans of food. There was enough to cook a light supper, as well as breakfast next morning. The crockery was good quality, not cheap. Although we struggled with the online check-in and didn't meet any staff, we felt welcome as guests.

Track to units is unsealed gravel. There is no lovely view or anything remarkable about the location. The fruit was rather unripe apples and pears, and some difficult-to-peel oranges.

Fully equipped kitchen with more than sufficient options for breakfast. Very good quality provisions and more than enough to eat. The room was a good size and the bathroom excellent. Its an older property but is well maintained and scrupulously clean. Linen and towels were all fine. Very quiet and private location and only 35 - 40 mins from Auckland airport so very convenient for a first night’s stay in-country. Check-in instructions from the owners were very clear and sent in a timely way.

Everything , The views , The bath next to the master bedroom was perfect it was such a good size, the tvs all having chrome cast was super handy. Wifi was great. The provisions delicious juice perfect eggs. The staff were so Lovely even offered to take our boy to feed the chickens he absolutely enjoyed it! So thankful for our stay.

There was a few ants in the shower in the Tui wing, there were also ants on the rug in the main lounge. There was a very slippery spot on the ground near the bench of the kitchen a few of our elders had slipped up on. Also the BBQ was not as clean as we would have left it on arrival. However not fussy people just some tips for next visitors :)

Heaven's Rest was a lovely place to rest and relax after our long flight to NZ. Just a short drive from the Auckland Airport, it is easy to reach and has a quiet, pastoral setting. Our room in the main house was very comfortable and being able to use the well stocked & equipped kitchen was a pleasure. It was also a pleasure to meet Robert, who kindly adjusted our arrangements as needed and ensured we had everything required for a very pleasant, comfortable stay. Check out the nearby town of Pukekohe for some great lunch or dinner spots.

The house was wonderful with views to the paddocks with animals and peaceful quiet. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and inviting. We were the only guests so it felt like our home in that we could turn on the television and enjoy a glass of wine. Would recommend this property for a peaceful stay, and not too far from town/village. Breakfast was everything you could want. Fresh eggs if you wanted and lots of juice, cereals and toast. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay with you. PS. Your Mum was fab. 😉

This was one of the best properties I’ve stayed in. It felt so homely and they had thought of everything. My bed was extremely comfy which was great having just got off a long flight and the location was really restful. The breakfast was fantastic with fresh eggs from the chickens and delicious yoghurt and toppings. The addition of being able to use the hot tub was the cherry on top! There are few places I’ve stayed in where I have been genuinely wowed by the attention to detail and I would recommend this to everyone.

Quite remote and a funny driveway location. Otherwise clean and comfy.

The microwave was mounted rediculously high, meaning any container could not be checked without removing the container, a critical risk of spilling boiling liquid all over myself and wife every time the microwave was used. How hard is it to be sensible. They run a real risk of being sued over this. The bedroom design is not clever at all. If the athroom had been added at the end rather than squeezed onto the side, the bedroom couls easily be 1 meter wider all round.

Robert greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our exceptional suite. Everything was spotless. The room itself had a ginormous super comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge with a great shower. Next came the dressing room with lots of space. The bedroom space was excellent with lovely patio doors onto the veranda, which had plenty of space and places to sit along with a hot tub. On entry to the property you walked into a lounge dining space which was very large, there was a shared kitchen area with everything you could need as breakfast was included which was cereals, juices, breads with butter and preserves. There was also the option to have freshly laid eggs from their chickens. The outlook was idyllic with beautiful views across the fields beyond the house, and closer to home were Robert and Kurt’s very friendly and somewhat amusing goats.

Nothing, it was the perfect idyl to recover from our flight from the UK.
