I came to stay 4 nights and so I end up staying 15 nights the reason why... Everything was amazing, location, property installation, from the pool always clean wifi signal it was good, Room were nice and clean bed very comfortable I slept like a baby the crew hospitality and attention were excellent, from security guard which its 24/7, housekeeping always on point excellent work especially Luz clara best housekeeping ever, receptionist Sara, Fabiola especially Lester he when beyond and over to any request that I had making my stay even better, to the crew restaurant excellent the cook fabulous especially Pablo, the weitres Jeidy, Joselin, Alejandra, they were very professional, Big thanks to Roxanne she always took the time to chat with me and make sure that I got all that I need during my stay.. everybody made me feel that I was at home cuz being here I didn't feel that I was in a hotel I felt that was visiting my family in Guatemala...

Everything was great

The ambience and relaxed friendliness of the staff. A delightful welcome drink will be waiting. A lovely escort service to your room. I only spent a few nights but I could easily spend a few weeks. It is not one of those converted small boutique hotels where you're on top of each other. This one is Top notch and professional. Very respectful of your privacy yet is more than happy to get his involved as you need them to. The hotel is a converted mansion totally done right. Restaurant was a fantastic surprise. The staff doesn't push towards their restaurant but I recommend it highly. Remember service will be casual otherwise delicious. Absolutely fun place to take pictures and relax. Has a lovely bar by the pool and common areas. Plenty of tables and chairs in common areas, sitting room and dining room. A wonderful area for a conference room.

I wish they would have turned the air conditioner on before my arrival. The maid service left some cleaning products in my room. The bed wasn't made perfectly. They threw away some things. Thinking it was trash. Might not be relevant because, manager told me that she was might be making a cleaning staff change anyway.

The site says the hotel is one minute walk from the US embassy and that was the reason I booked this hotel. However, I discovered the US embassy moved over a year ago and we had to get up early and take a taxi.

See above. The hotel was very accommodating to allow an early checkin which more than made up for this. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. They have their own taxis so I felt very safe.

The hotel Carlos is a little gem. The pool with statues (!) nestles in a beautiful little garden and the rooms around the garden have very comfortable beds and and great showers. The restaurant and bar areas are decorated in an eclectic contemporary style while the historic parts of the hotel have the original porcelain and prints on display. (Note that the trip to and from the airport will take around 30 minutes.)

The breakfasts were fine but the dinner menu could be improved.

The hotel location is great, near the airport, malls, bars, and nightclubs. It feels safe around the hotel and it's a gated property, I like the style of the hotel because it feels like you're at home cozy and warm. The room was big and the beds were really comfortable, breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and polite.

Beautiful garden with swimming pool. Silent except for airplanes but didn't bother me and instead, enjoyable

One customer of the hotel. Always talking so loudly all the time at the phone. Contrasting with such peaceful place. Was not hotel's fault and I didn't complain.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and helped by making some phone calls for me when my cell phone's international service was dysfunctional. The suite was clean and quite spacious, and everything in the kitchenette was functional and quite handy. The breakfast was excellent on each of the mornings that we were there.

It wasn't clear how to use the remote controls for the AC.

Hotel San Carlos has charm that overcomes minor inconveniences. The charm comes from an earlier era, and the decor and decorations are well maintained. Various pieces of furniture and "chachkas" from the early 20th century, which I normally do not appreciate, seem to naturally fit in here.

For someone who needs to work in this "road warrior" age, placement of electrical sockets is very important. Our room had a desk, but no convenient socket for it. There were sockets next to both beds, but on the wrong side, i.e. not next to the night table, so there was no place to leave your computer, phone, tablet, etc. to charge at night, except on the floor, or in bed with you. The great photo of the pool is misleading. The pool is actually charming, great for kids to splash around in, but quite short (we swam anyway).

Originally stated at a ‘normal’ room but didn’t like those at all so I gave myself an upgrade to one of the more spacious apartments on the 3rd floor, which was 100% worth it. Love their inner courtyard with small pool. Breakfast was fine.

Rooms are not very soundproof; I could very clearly hear the programs the person in the room next door was watching. WiFi was not great in the 3rd floor.

I think the hotel is beautiful and feel more like a home. This is our second stay and we will return again. Breakfast is great!
