This hotel has a historical etiquette. The staff is very friendly. The rooms spacious and confortable. We stayed in rooms 203 and 204. The food in the restaurant is very nice.
The breakfast is decent while I would recommend to add a bit more fruits. We did not know that the hotel was haunted until we were there. We experienced indeed footsteps at night in the corridor and in our room that were not from our neighbors, 2 nights in a row the lights in the corridor turned triggered by the movement detectorz but no footsteps, nothing, both happened between 1 and 3 am both nights as I could not sleep. If you like this type of atmosphere you will love the old section of the hotel while I would not recommend this for children. My daughter also mentioned having experienced somebody whispering in her ear. As said nice hotel, very friendly staff, so not really negative but be aware of the atmosphere when booking it.

The important things about this hotel are very good - the service (Liam, Marcello and Jo in particular)... the quality of food in the Fish Restaurant... and the rooms themselves. For most people that should be enough, and is enough for us to come back again. This is a very good hotel with fabulous staff and amazing food and the rooms are super.
But there are some tiny tweaks they could change this from "almost very good" to "exceptional" - for example the first impression is via the car park, that has no branding and looks a bit average... the corridors to the rooms could benefit from some wall coverings to smarten them up... and to get to the bar, you have to go out of the hotel front door and turn left... which can be cold being on the loch - there must be a way to move people from the warmth of the hotel and into the bar area without getting cold?

A perfect 10, not because everything went smoothly, but because of how the team handled what didn’t. We arrived tired at 8pm, only to find that the room assigned to us hadn’t been cleaned, a simple oversight from housekeeping. Mistakes happen, and what matters most is how they’re addressed. The front office team member responded swiftly, professionally, and with genuine consideration for how exhausted we must have been. She took responsibility and resolved the issue with the best possible outcome: a complimentary upgrade. Their handling turned a potential frustration into a moment of real hospitality. Well done!

The location and food
The service at dinner, food order wrong , servers x 3 people didn’t get water when asked for, difficulty with the 2 female servers who didn’t really understand what we wanted, when food was wrong they didn’t take it off table just left it there, then after we had been served our meal not one server came to ask if everything was ok or how was our food. Then when we had finished main course not asked if we wanted to see dessert menu they just said do you want the bill. Also because it was my birthday and I had an upgrade I didn’t want to question the 10% service charge added on invoice. If I didn’t get an upgrade I would not have paid it I’m afraid. Room and front of house very attentive

Loved this hotel's location. Very beautiful backdrop. Very lovely decorated hotel, gives you a feeling of entering a historic place. Room was cozy, lovely view. Restaurant on site was convenient, breakfast was delicious with quite the spread and an amazing view in the dining hall. Most of the staff seemed friendly and helpful.
Initially, when checking in, I found my room to not be the loch view I had chosen. I informed the front desk, and after a little while of clarification, the issue was resolved. Stairs are incredibly squeaky, i understand they are original to the building, little unnerving. Shower water temperature was unnecessarily difficult to regulate, either too cold or too hot. Fish restaurant on site is quite pricey, and our waiter had a sort of arrogance to him that was a little off-putting. The desert was basically 2 bites for £10. All in all, for the price of the room, it's still a great option in the Glencoe region.

A romantic Victorian baronial hotel that has seen better days. The lobby has a spectacular and grand Victorian staircase which feeds to a maze of corridors on the first and second floors at the end of which was our room, a perfectly adequate space with a retrofitted small bathroom. The room had a fine view of the loch. The dining room was busy and crowded but the staff were competent and friendly and the food was good.
The lounge is a wonderful space but the furniture and upholstery have seen better days. The coverings were worn and frayed on many pieces.

Nice old style hotel in a stunning location. Excellent food at the restaurant, with great views.
The parking area is far from the entrance, we had to carry our luggage over a part gravel path, under the rain. There are no elevators. The staff at the reception was ok, but not particulary friendly, as in other properties. For the quality and size of the room it is overpriced.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings! Rooms were very comfortable with comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Loved the charm of the old building but modernized rooms. Dinner was good and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Loved the bagpipe player at sunset on the porch and the opportunity to play golf at the course next door in the morning!
For dinner my husband ordered three appetizers rather than a main. They were all brought at once and then the waiter was waiting for him to finish before bringing the mains for the other three of us, so we ended up waiting a long time for our dinners until we asked. My husband was saving some of his appetizers to eat with our main courses. There should have been better communication and understanding. View of the river was loverly from the dining room.

Cozy and spacious room, very clean bathroom, fresh towels, nice cosmetics in the bathroom, tea/coffee in the room.
Overpriced for what you get. Breakfast was included in the room and was very disappointing: most of the food is made from pre-cooked dishes or marinated; warm food (scrambled eggs/bacon) was overcooked. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and it was, unfortunately, not delicious at all. Another disadvantage is the absence of a mixer faucet (in the shower and in the sink) which makes you struggle between extremely cold and extremely hot water.

The people working for the hotel is super nice and friendly. The food was delicious , as the local variety of foods during the breakfast. The bed was super big and comfortable, as the bedroom.
They had announcement of a swimming-pool but is located in another facility, five minutes of car far away. The food was super good but a bit expensive. Its an old building, and it´s quite well preserved , but there are some areas that need maintenance.
