The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. A good selection of complimentary toiletries and an actual bath instead of just a shower. It was a very quiet location. The breakfast was very good with an adaquete selection of cereals and cooked options also.

There was a step-up into the ensuite bathroom which might catch you out in the middle of the night. For our stay, we checked out on a Sunday morning. There was no reception staff on duty. Instead the kitchen wait staff doubled up on those tasks. They were unaware that we had paid for the room in advance on booking.com. The breakfast juice-bar was mostly empty. Apparantly they were waiting on a delivery.

Really relaxing, olde world charm with modern features. Nice large room, we had dinner and drinks in the bar - the homemade goujons were fantastic as well as the hake (so fresh). It was such a lovely spot to relax and unwind on a beautiful day. We didn’t use the Leisure centre but could see it was very popular. Breakfast was lovely, plentiful and I liked the ability to make my own toast rather than waiting on the kitchen. The staff were very friendly and professional- the breakfast team were very busy but nothing was too much trouble - even when there was a demanding guest, everything they requested was delivered (I’m sure it still wasn’t to their satisfaction, despite demanding something that wasn’t even on the menu!).

There was no hairdryer in our room.

I absolutely love the vibe of the hotel, the rooms were cute and the place felt very regal. The grounds were beautiful my two children loved exploring and finding the carved statues of the 3 bears. The leisure centre was small but perfect for what we needed. We went to the pool every day. The TV in the room had netflix loaded on it so we could log in and watch a movie while the children were asleep. The bar food was very tasty and the views of the mountains from the high wing back chairs just made it all the better

The bed was quite small. We had a family room and the children had two singles beds in a side room off ours. This was perfect and they had plenty of space. There was a standard double in the main room and my husband and I found that very small and uncomfortable, we are both 6 foot tall. It is the only thing that would make me question my return.

Gorgeous setting, interiors and staff are great and breakfast was lovely.

Swimming pool was closed. I had called three days prior and had been advised it would be open. Found black hairs in the bath and bathroom

Rooms were ok, location was brilliant. Price was very good, leisure center was great - it could do with a bit of upkeep inside but facilities were good. Staff were excellent especially the young guy who kept the breakfast running on his own without getting the least bit stressed - he was a credit to the hotel. I have an injury and needed a bit of help to adapt room which the staff were brilliant to facilitate.. very Happy overall

Interior of leisure center could do with a facelift

All staff we came across were all so lovely and friendly, from reception to breakfast to night porters! Also loved the decor of the lobby and the room we stayed in, so modern and beautiful. Breakfast was great, nice selection of cereals and pastries, can order hot dishes such as pancakes or an Irish breakfast which hit the spot !

There was a small smell of dampness when you walked through the front door and walked further up through the lobby but could be based on the weather and the fact that the area is near forestry.

Beautiful oldy worldy, to be expected for an old Hotel. No mod cons but clean and comfortable. Staff were just lovely. Breakfast was amazing. Surrounding grounds are beautiful. Amazing value for money

I really enjoyed the swim but the leisure center and pool are a bit tired and could do with a bit of a face lift. It was still good and the staff were lovely

All staff are very friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Well done to everyone from reception to bar staff and breakfast staff pool attendant. Made our stay very pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel

The room we stayed in our beds were very comfortable. Our TV had no channels only Netflix if more than few people were watching Netflix at the same time ,we we're unable to get back into finish watching our movie 🍿. The bathroom hand rail was rusted and would need to be replaced. Every employee was extremely helpful. We rang reception and we were cold they kindly gave us a heater and we were so grateful . We will definitely come back to stay at this hotel. All staff were excellent

The ambience in the hotel was lovely if a little quiet. The outside of the hotel could have done with a spruce up. Eg remove the dead flowers in window boxes. ( there is a garden centre next door) A problem easily solved. The room was small but sufficient and was very clean. The room had been done up as had the bathroom and looked well. The one issue was the broken cistern lid which was cracked.

Tidy up outside The leisure facilities vere very tired and needed an immediate tidy. The changing rooms were very shabby. The facilities themselves were good

The room was nicely decorated, spacious and warm with a lovely view. The bed was very comfortable and there wasn't any noise to disrupt a wonderful night's sleep. The shower was pretty powerful and there was an abundance of hot water. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and the fresh fruit salad was particularly good. We found the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The leisure centre was disappointing. There were rather loud swimming lessons with young children going on in the very small pool during our booked hour, which was a bit uncomfortable and the changing rooms really need an update. A lot of broken / out of order facilities. This didn't really detract from our stay, but I would just avoid it in future.
