Miscommunication between the lobby and restaurant : on the one hand it is advertised that you can not book a table in advance. At reception, we were told just to walk in. However the restaurant manager told us we could not eat because we did not book a table. The restaurant was indeed full of customers who were obviously not from the hotel and came to enjoy an open air music show. Thanks to the waitress who made a special effort to arrange a table in the breakfast room. We were late and there was not much left on the menu. Just go to dinner very early to avoid this inconvenience.

We had a wonderful breakfast from the ala carte menu (at a set price for what ever you wanted for breakfast). The dinner we had was well prepared and presented well. The food was exquisite. The prices were great. The views from our hotel room across the valley were charming and calming. The large hotel patio was wonderful to sit and watch the pastoral setting and listen to the bird song while sipping a drink. The staff were helpful and pleasant.

We stayed for five nights as we were attending a family wedding nearby and we absolutely loved our stay. Staff could not have been friendly or more helpful and the location was magnificent and it was handy to get into Tipp town for essentials. The lodge had plenty of space and spectacular views and was comfy and cosy. It was great value for money. Lodges Probably need some minor aesthetic touch ups in places but nothing major. The bar in the main hotel was really lovely and welcoming and well kept. We loved our time here and would definitely come back.

Wifi in the lodges would have been great

This was one of the best places we stayed in Ireland!!! The cottage was huge with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths!! The scenery was breathtaking from the two decks. We were there for two days and ate at the Hotel restaurant both days for dinner and breakfast!! The best word to describe the entire staff was professional and friendly!! The best hospitality we experienced the entire trip!! The waiters we had were outstanding their names were David and I think his name was Eoghan. The young lady Lucy we meet at breakfast was very friendly as well. I will definitely be back next year with friends and Aherlow House is a MUST stop on our travels!!! Thank you Aherlow House for a memorable stay!!

A wonderful tranquil place away from busy life! Nestled in the Glen of Aherlow with fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding valleys. The house hotel maybe a little dated in places but that is to be expected in a place like this and doesn't take away from the wonderful stay we had.... honestly haven't been so relaxed in years... The staff need to be bottled up and shared to all hotels , they truly were fantastic and couldn't do enough to make the stay wonderful, service with a smile that wasn't faked and service was always quick. The food at the Hunters Lodge was 5*, couldn't fault anything, breakfast was self service and had everything you want from hot breakfast to cereals/pastry etc (our second morning was much busier at breakfast but staff were quick to replenish food items, plates etc.)

Only fault would be the bed and pillows were quite firm, not to my personal preference but my husband was quite comfy!

Loved the location… beautiful setting. Although dated the hotel was spotless. The breakfast had good choices and we would stay again.

Staff were pleasant but not very engaging. They could have been a bit more chatty and interested in the clients. Just a bit more chit chat with people makes it a more personable experience. Would have been nicer to have ceramic cups or mugs in the room which are reusable rather than single use compostable cups. Views were amazing although the shrubbery could have done with cutting back from Room 107.

Good sized room with lovely big bath in the bathroom. Plenty of options for breakfast. Disposable cups in bedroom for tea/coffee

The bar area was busy & noisy - we felt it was more like a restaurant than a bar where you could sit and chill. Kettle with tea/cofee etc was on a slide out tray underneath TV unit, the power lead going through the rear of the unit was a bit short so it made making drinks a little tricky, more so because the tray couldn't be fully pulled out as it then bumped in to the dressing table. Shower curtain rail could do with being a little further away from the bath - when the shower was on full, the draft caused the curtain to move inwards and stick to your body

Spectacular location on the slope of Slievenamuck with lovely views across the glen to the Galtee Mountains. Lots and lots of nice walking/hiking trails of all lengths and for all levels of fitness, including trails starting from the carpark of the hotel. There was music on the large outdoor deck bar each night and the lodge we stayed in was clean and comfortable with incredible views of the Glen.

Bar not cheap.

Lovely view over the mountains from the room. Had a room on the top floor. The hotel had a nice terrace for drinks in the evening.

Unfortunately there was a fan outside the hotel going on all night. This was sad since it would be a really quiet place if this was not there. Had to wait for almost an hour for the breakfast. It was a set menu instead of buffet and just one person on duty. Old brewed coffee.....

Staff were welcoming and happy to answer our questions about the area, including directing us to a laundromat and supermarket. Were warmly welcomed to breakfast each morning and loved the meals for dinner each night. A great selection at a reasonable price on the menu. Our room was spacious and had the most glorious view of the mountains. The location was stunning and I truly wish that we had more time there to explore around.
