My husband and I arrived on our honeymoon in Kyoto to this hotel and started with 4 days and every day that passed we added another day and another day mainly because of this amazing hotel and the manager Alex! He helped us and gave us exceptional service! Starting from recommending places, helping with receiving things, even when we came to leave the hotel for a walk and it started raining, he followed us and brought us umbrellas. There are no words to describe this lovely person and how he made the whole experience in Kyoto so amazing for us. We will definitely come back here again! Highly recommend the hotel! Very central location, new and large rooms and exceptional service!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel with large, comfortable rooms. We enjoyed an upper storey room with a balcony. The hotel is well located in a quiet area but with easy access to train stations. We received outstanding help and service from the Manager, Alex, who offered detailed suggestions about what to do in Kyoto and most particularly how to get to the places (and back). He was helpful with restaurant suggestions and we enjoyed eating in out of the way locations that we would not have found ourselves. Alex's enthusiasm for Kyoto really added to the enjoyment of our visit. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. With only 15 rooms all guests receive personalised attention. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The room was large and comfortable. The location was convenient, quiet and close to train stations. The staff were friendly and the Manager, Alex, could not have done more to make us feel welcome and to provide information that made our stay in Kyoto much more striaghtforward.

This hotel is delightful and the staff, particularly Alex, are incredibly attentive. They went out of their way to find reservations for us at restaurants when they were hard to come by and accommodated each and every request we had. The hotel is also quite central and easy to reach from the metro. The breakfasts brought to your room are also among the finest we've had.

We arrived during a torrential downpour and thunderstorm which made initially locating the hotel a challenge but that is no fault of the hotel's.

Great boutique hotel in an excellent location, 5 minutes walk from a subway station, 15 minutes walk to Nishiki market and Nijo castle. We stayed in room 501, it was excellent - quiet, spacious, clean, modern, with a huge comfortable bed and a very spacious and comfortable bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was fabulous. The room had all required accesories. The window opened just a little, but it was enough to get in some fresh air and the air conditioning was good. The staff was helpfull and welcoming and most members spoke good English. All together - highly recommended.

The western breakfast was simple and very basic. It led to.a serious stomach ache on the first day. The Japanese breakfast for am extra cost was good.

The location was outstanding. Close to a main train line & buses. The area is a business/commercisl district with great shops, restaurants, cafes, bars & kombini. Pedestrian traffic is low after 5-6pm. Easy area to navigate. Felt very safe & was in an attractive upscale district. The room was big especially for Japan. The bed was huge & really comfortable. Spotlessly clean & well serviced. Very quiet inside the hotel. Excellent staff service at all times. It was a bonus having BBC News English speaking channel & several streaming services.

Decent location a few block off the subway line on a quiet street. Around the corner from a busy Starbucks that was open late which was a nice option. We took bullet train in from Tokyo - transferred to subway in Kyoto and hotel was easy to find. We were early so dropped off bags and went off. Hotel staff very friendly and knowledgeable especially Alex S. who gave us the lay of the land and made great recommendations. Breakfast every morning was nice. Room was very spacious and well appointed and very clean.

It’s a beautiful little hotel in a central part of Kyoto. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed, and the bar offered a free drink voucher. The staff were all very kind – especially Alex, who gave us so many great recommendations for the area. We would definitely recommend staying here!

nothing- maybe an Onsen or a sauna would be nice

I really enjoyed my stay at this boutique hotel. The room was extremely clean and modern, and the bed was VERY comfortable. Kyoto sites are generally pretty spread out, but this hotel was nicely located for walks to Nijo Castle, The Imperial Palace, Nishiki Market and along Kamo River to the Shimogamo Shrine (all of which were recommended by Front Desk staff). It was also very close (<5 mins) to a couple of subway lines, one of which I took from Kyoto Station to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I initially booked a "Superior Double" room that I later learned did not have a window or balcony door that opened. I upgraded to a room with a balcony as soon as I became aware, so I never saw the original room. This may have been fine for others, but wouldn't have worked for me (as someone who always books the window seat because I need to be able to look outside), and there was no mention of this on Booking.com, so I add this note for the benefit of future users.
