The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and there was even a complimentary half bottle of Penfolds wine, a packet of chips and kitkat as well. Noice! The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from one of the best Thai restaurants on the Sunshine Coast. This hotel is in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital precinct and the Lake Kawana sport precinct. We were attending a regatta at Lake Kawana. It is also very close to the shopping and restaurant area where there is a Coles, Aldi and other shops and cafes.

The free wifi was super slow. To get faster wifi you have to sign in to Accor. Yeah nah. The TV was therefore difficult to chromecast to, and was a bit of a muck around, especially when there were two different instructions on how to do a chromecast. Just a smart TV and casting from my tablet is all I needed. The bathroom was quite small and had a walk in shower that had a screen that prevented you from using the toilet and shower at the same time. The shower also flooded the floor if you weren't careful.

The 24/7 service desk, room service, value for money, complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate and chips plus the location. It was honestly far better than we expected for the price!

Everything was fantastic besides we organised a late check out which was granted with no issues during check in. The next day house keeping knocked and entered our room at 10:30am without waiting for an answer to the door and I was in the bathroom getting ready with the bathroom door open for check out at 11am. He and I ended up face to face awkwardly. It wasn't a major deal but it would be great for house keeping to wait even a moment for a reply inside the room before entering in case there has been a late check out given to guests and they are not aware to avoid any embarrassing situations for both guest and house keeping :)

Friendly and happy staff at the reception and cafe. I love the fact that parking is free. The close proximity to the hospital. The lovely scented lotions and body wash and hand wash. And a hand towel. We have stayed in lots of accommodation which only provides a bath mat and face washer. So thank you.

Not anything that I really didn't like, just more feedback. The vent that is located in the ceiling between the front door and the kitchenette rattles when the air con is on. It is not that noticeable during the day, but at night, we had to turn the air-conditioning off. The bathroom itself was clean. However, the shower area could use a little attention. The glass screen door had noticeable scum down the bottom , and the metal track at the bottom also had mould. We also mentioned on checkout that the toilet seat appears to be broken, but I thought I would also mention it here. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

Everything! I'd like to give a personal shoutout to Cathy in night time reception! Cathy made my night - having a loved one in emergency surgery my booking was late at night, I was stressed about the loved ones surgery and Cathy made my night a little brighter with her kindness and consideration! My room was really nice- the shower OMG just what I needed to wash the day off - bed was SOOOOO comfy, everything was amazing. I was so sad when my alarm went off! The wine & chocolates in the room went down a treat Thanks Mercure you did a outstanding job

The staff has been incredibly helpful throughout the stay: they gave me brilliant suggestions on what to do and see around the Sunshine Coast, gave me all I needed when I wanted to do a BBQ at a park, clean towels to go to the beach when requested.. all without hesitation. Would recommend solely based on this. The hotel is perfectly acceptable: the bed is comfortable and the room itself is OK. The food is definitely above average: the breakfast is delicious, the a-la-carte menu is quite rich and diverse. Overall a great dining experience, especially since if you're working late, you'll have to rely on the Hotel due to every restaurant in the area closing at around 8:30pm.

I was put on Floor 1 due to the upper floors being fully booked, even if I was promised a stay on Floor 2.

This hotel is very close to the hospital, so was perfect for what I needed during a very unplanned trip to the Sunshine Coast. The hotel was clean, rooms were up-to-date, and had all the things one might need if working from the hotel (e.g. USB charging ports, lots of power points, coffee pod machine etc.) I was initially disappointed with the lack of gym, but the hotel is situated right near some excellent walking/running paths around the lakes (which was much nicer than a gym!). The restaurant wasn't amazing, but was solid with good service.

Located near hospital and lovely lake setting and walking areas. Easy breezy restaurant with sensible menu and super friendly staff. Comfortable bed and spacious quiet studio room with complimentary chocolates and delicious wine. Definitely worth a consider if on southern parts of the Sunny Coast.

A/C was a little noisy but ok. Shower drain had slight drainage issues requiring the significant reduction in shower volume. Hotel aware and being addressed. A breakfast meal sitting was deducted from the bill which was appreciated.

* Emergency alarm to evacuate went off at 4.30am. * Included breakfast: Was not told when breakfast was or where. Reception gave me 5 mins to get down to ground level for breakfast option. Other customers were also not told about breakfast (sneaky). * The body wash/shampoo/conditioner had all the same fragrance written on the bottles but smelt different from each other and cheaper then what was on the bottle (misleading). * TV had no Stan, Foxtel or Netflix subscription just normal TV. (Disappointing for a ☆☆☆☆) so could not watch any movies. * No balcony outside * Room service had NO dessert options. Was expensive. 1 meal and bottle of wine cost me $90.

Mercure was almost perfect, we had a wonderful short stay. The bed was comfortable and clean, and they left adorable little treats out. It had great access to food nearby and was perfect location for attending hospital appointments. The only downside was our bathroom clearly wasn’t well cleaned in the shower. Spotless everywhere else but we had to removed 3 large clumps of hair and obvious toothpaste spittle from the shower. It was an easy enough fix, especially as we were only staying the night.

When I walked into the building I instantly felt comfortable, with the lovely lady that served was warm and professional.... When I walked into my room it was amazing...it smelt clean and the aircon was already set to comfortable temperature...the bed was a king size and very cosy giving a great sleep after a big day travelling. This is my second time the mecure Sunshine Coast and will be back again and would recommend to anyone who's looking for great value for money Reg Matt Honeyman
