I recently had the pleasure of staying at Buffelsdam Country House in Plettenberg Bay, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and made to feel at home. The tranquil setting, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views of the countryside, provided the perfect escape from the hustle of daily life. The rooms were beautifully appointed—spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with all the modern amenities one could need. What stood out the most was the attention to detail and the genuine care from the hosts, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Buffelsdam Country House is a gem for anyone looking to unwind and experience the beauty of the Garden Route. I would highly recommend this peaceful retreat to anyone seeking comfort, relaxation, and a touch of nature's magic. I look forward to returning!

The Buffelsdam staff were particularly nice and helpful: they gave us a tour of the garden and of the swimming pool area, they kindly booked for us a nearby restaurant where we had a fantastic dinner and they even contacted us after we have left offernig to ship a garment we had forgotten there. We were upgraded to a spacious family unit, equipped with kitchen, living room, two large rooms with bathroom. The rich and tasty breakfast was served on a patio overlooking the pool and the garden. Everything was just perfect; despite it was quite cold as it was July, we were offered a wood stove to warm the flat

Stunning surroundings and good location- close to wine estates nearby and short drive to Plett and Keurbooms. Very yummy breakfast provided. Lovely rooms which were well equipped, clean and cozy, with beautiful views! Amazing service by the host - very friendly and hospitable, and the website they set up is super helpful! It has recommendations of restaurants nearby/ things to do/ info about the accommodation etc. Would 100% recommend staying here for a lovely relaxed weekend.

Unfortunately no wifi/TV during loadshedding so remote working from here would not be ideal.

Corry was a fantastic host - super friendly and gave us loads of great recommendations (my favourite was the Bramon wine estate restaurant which is 5 mins from the property). Also hosted a braii on the last night of our stay which was fun We were able to use her private infinity pool overlooking the pond during our stay which was great and the house, grounds and gardens are beautiful We stayed in a first floor room which overlooked the garden and had huge French window. Room was really big and beds really comfy. Very clean too. No aircon and load shedding meant we couldn’t use the fan so it did get a bit hot in the room at night (we stayed end of summeR)

EVERYTHING! The location is like a dream! A wide view of the mountains surrounded by a well maintained botanical garden in a peaceful environment. Extremely hospitable & kind owners. Highly trained staff that work with a sincere smile. Excellent service all round and daily cleaning. Secure, save environment with enough parking space and car wash if needed! Clean large pool with breathtaking views complete with relaxing area. The family appartement we stayed in was spacious, luxurious, complete with all amenities en cozy, we felt so at home... We travelled with our newborn and the owner made sure a baby cot and chair were provided upon arrival. Ooow and the freshest breakfast was prepared with such variety and care, delicious! Doing the Garden route or looking for a pampered hide away? Stop looking and book here!!

Nothing at all, literally nothing that needs an improvement or upgrade.

we loved every inch and every minute of our stay! wonderfull location, with an amazing view on the mountains. hosts are perfect and very welcoming, it really felt like coming home. rooms are very clean and spacious and the grounds are very wel kept. the set up for breakfast was so good you don’t even need lunch. plenty of choice and quality food.

what was there not to like!

We stayed 2 nights at the property and had a wonderful time. The owner is kind and has mamy nice tips on what to do in the area. The place is clean, rooms are well maintained with good beds, breakfasts were nice. There is a nice pool for adults and a small one for children which is a rare offer. We will definately go back.

The owners and staff went above and beyond to ensure my toddler had everything he needed. We were extremely impressed with the kindness and respect they showed him and us. Amazing location, so tranquil and relaxing.

The walls are too thin, you could hear your neighbours.

Warm and welcoming staff. Beautiful & clean rooms, with a comfortable bathroom. Lovely property with pool and stunning Mountain View. Highly recommend. Felt very safe driving to the location even as two girls which is great 😁 yummy and varying continental breakfast spread!
