Stayed in Room 8. Had a small view of the harbor from the balcony. The room was situated on the side facing a lawn and parking on the second floor. While we didn’t front the beach, we really liked the location of the room because we thought it had better privacy compared to others. Rooms were clean except for the musty smell of some pillows. I usually rate hotels better when they have outstanding service. So, to be fair, I am not rating this a 10. The front staff could have taken more time explaining what the facilities offered, at what hours (laundry was closed by the time we could use it), policies for requesting clean up or late check out; rather than relying on guests opening their book and reading these upon arrival. Seeing a difference in service compared to other hotels. But overall, enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable, reasonably tasteful, had a good location, had information as long as guests read their book.

Everything we needed was right next door. A couple of steps here and there. Groceries, Restaurants, Pubs and a museum across the road. We stayed in apartment 12 for a week as we were up here for work. It was nice to come back to the apartment after a long days work and park our work van under the garage and head up to our apartment and relax. We brought groceries up but if we needed something quick to eat we just walked down to the 4 square and picked up something. It had everything. Awesome lil bakery as well. The apartment was clean and a good place to relax. Nice and quiet but we were here in the off season where there was not much tourists. The rooms all had sky TV which was a bonus to watch our games but we would pop into the Pub Nauti Penguin for a meal and a beer and to watch the All Blacks. Good atmosphere down there. Beds were comfortable. Awesome staff, easy communication, easy check in as we checked in late. Overall experience, excellent

You get discounts at restaurants but they didn’t tell us when we checked in. Only found out in the morning after we had been to 2 restaurants in he afternoon and evening earlier. Would have been good to be told and given the discount card on checkin.

Location was great, just across the road from beach,Resturants,shops. The room was just as it was shown on the website, which was an excellent bonus,having been caught out badly by this before when I have booked with Booking.com. All facilities were spotlessly clean. Bed was very comfortable as was the casual seating.

Just a little less wind during the day 💨but guess it was that time of year.

Really friendly staff who went the extra mile to help us as we had our 1-year old with us. They checked us in early even though they were very busy. They provided a portacot with all the bedding for our little one. The apartments are right near the water. We couldn't quite see the sea from our room (which we knew to expect) but we looked out on the lovely village green. The water was about 10 seconds away. The apartments are right in the heart of town. Close to restaurants and cafes but still peaceful. I was blown away by how lovely it was.

The only nitpicky thing I can say is that an aircon would have been great as it was really hot. But they provided a fan which helped a lot.

Comfortable spacious modern apartment in the centre of Russell. Beds and bedding are excellent. Our apartment (across the road from the beachside apartments) had a balcony overlooking the main street into Russell - but very quiet. Everywhere in Russell is within short walking distance (beach, town centre, walking trails). Some excellent wineries nearby. Would strongly recommend a day cruise with Phantom Sailing - wonderful experience. Excellent car parking within the apartment building. Nev (the owner/manager) was very welcoming and helpful.

Would have liked a sea view - but none of these aprtments were available. We should have stayed longer!

We had an apartment with a view over the bay which was lovely. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the view and passers by. Although it is slightly dated it is immaculately maintained and very clean. Kitchen facilities were very good. The location was super close to everything in Russel and the marina which was very convenient.

Beds weren’t quite as lux as some of our other accommodation in NZ but they were still comfy.

Well situated, outstanding view of the bay, sunny and friendly. Not lavish a 1960’s simple unit but ideal for a couple as was equipped with kitchenette and comfortable spaces to relax. Good ‘springboard’ to enjoy the activities in the region and Russell as situated a ‘stones throw’ from the township. Parking also a breeze.

Ideal at this time of year as not too busy. I imagine peak time foot traffic outside the unit may be intrusive.

It was a waterfront property. My room was on the second level with clear sight of the beach and town. There were some stairs to get directly up to my room and these were easily accessible from my car. It was very well lit at night so easy to get around.

It was a little difficult to find where my room was. Though once I found it, it was no problem. I may have missed some directing signs

The location was perfect. Central to everywhere. The bathrooms were great and the bedrooms were roomy and even came with heat pumps in each room. It was the perfect place to stay.

My only complaint is that the bed was a bit hard for me. But for others it would be great. Just that I have a super soft bed at home. However my husband loved the bed. And there was no dishwasher. And I am lazy at doing the dishes lol. But other than that, everything was perfect.
